- Santiago de Queretaro is considered one of the safest cities in Mexico. This is our first time visiting Queretaro and we need your help! We don't know much if all about Queretaro besides its home to a lot expats in Mexico. As we continue our adventure in search of home Queretaro has been recommended to us as one of the best places to live in Mexico.

Vegan food ….those chickpea tacos make me happy !
We love chickpea and lentils and in mercados they are offered more often than many people realize. Saludos Banana patch we will be on the look out for more vegan options.
Vegan food in Mexico is a not so easy find. Much improvising needed or prepare at home.
So good to see all kinds of people coming to our country and it’s equally nice to see young people de La Raza returning & realizing that Mexico is the jewel of North America. I grew up in Canada, glad I grew up there glad I left hen I did, and after 12 years back, no regrets. Canada is beautiful but Mexico is special. Bienvenidas!

We have an Airbnb rented for a month in January of 2023 one bedroom apartment with kitchen all utilities, bedroom full service kitchen pool, and terrace in city center for 21 dollars a day!
January of 2023 or 2022? Where is your apartment located? We met a local yesterday that pays the same amount as we do for a two floor condo with two bedrooms and it's just north of centro.

It had been so long since we’d danced we missed it so much. It was good that the social was early from 7-10pm because if it was later we wouldn’t have attended.
A whole month - that's awesome. You should get a good sense of what it's really like there in that time, especially with the way you guys explore. And that walk into Centro was the perfect way to kick off your stay. Did you say SIXTEEN $ per day for the Airbnb??? Fabrica De Chocolate looks AMAZING! Mmm, espresso & chocolate - right up our alley. 🤤 Aw, it's great to see you dancing again! More of that, please!
So far we love it! And yes a whole month yes 16$ a night on Airbnb had we booked it with more time perhaps it would’ve been cheaper. Y’all have to check this city out someday it’s very nice! We plan to go out dancing tonight too! We hope all is well with you both!

Looking at the comments, I realize I made a mistake in my comment. I thought you had said $60 a day (now I see that you said 16). However, if you want your own place, the apartment we rented is still affordable and convenient.
Where is the apartment you rented? We might just look into it if we end up staying another month.

@@EatBailaTravel, SLP just has a feel and vibe about it that we liked. It seemed to us that the people are a little more friendly in SLP. I think Queretaro has a younger population than SLP. I also think things are a little more expensive in Queretaro. you can't go wrong with either choice though. -Marc
Just spent a week there, and it's quite pleasant and safe. But, as it's not very large and diverse, I don't know that i could live there long term. Possibly I would get bored and look to move to a bigger place (Guadalajara or Mexico City) within a year or two.
Querétaro is beautiful that’s for sure. We would take Queretaro over Guadalajara any day but we agree there’s only so much you can do.

Great video! When you get a chance, try a really good restaurant called La Hoja on Avenida Constituyentes, near the Plaza de Toros ... we like to go there for Sunday breakfast. Wonderful food, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Jorge, our dog Buddy, and I are moving form Dallas, Texas, to Querétaro in 11 weeks. Super excited! We will rent a house in the community of Zibatá, about 15 minutes by car northeast of the centro histórico. ¡Saludos! Pepe (my adopted name in Spanish). :-)

Howdy again! Yes, Zibatá is above El Refugio and across the highway and up a bit from Zakia. We love the community of Zibatá for our dog Buddy … with its parks and green spaces … the residents are nice, too. We do like the centro histórico as well … and nearby Barrio La Cruz with its joyas ocultas (hidden gems). :-) We were drawn to Querétaro for its cleanliness, the fact it is a safe city, and the people - los queretanos - are genuinely friendly and down-to-earth. About three hours from Querétaro City - up in the mountains of the Sierra Gorda - there are some beautiful areas. To us, the whole state is lovely. We have a lot of the state we have not yet visited, but we will! We like San Luis Potosí, too (the capital city and other regions of the state … the town of Xilitla is beautiful). As for La Hoja, the chilaquiles are really good … in fact, everything on the menu is great! ¡Saludos! Pepe

Our channel is one of the few (if not the only!) travel channels by mexican-americans.Our cultural backgrounds, languages, and upbringing inform the way we travel. I am sure you are one of the few channels because I have hunted down any and all brown content creators representing travel and it’s been pretty scarce. There are a lot and all over the city. We are not in centro and the bike lanes reach all the way out to us . Thanks for watching great questions! We will figure out the recreational riding outside of town.

We are still trying to figure that out, Queretaro has made it very tough because we love Mérida but Queretaro's weather and location in the middle of Mexico make it very intriguing. We will be uploading a video comparing both cities after we spend a month in Queretaro.

Depends what your looking for. For the beach and coastal living with the heat but lower cost of living, Merida. Queretaro for all the reasons mentioned in this video. For me Queretaro!
You should check out the Museo de Arte close to Jardín Gurrero (even if you're not into museums, the architecture is amazing). Also El Cerrito and Bernal... you can easily catch a bus there from the bus station. If you want to get a bit further outside of the city you guys might want to check out Mineral de Pozos

I just “discovered “ your channel and I love your energy and your sense of adventure. As I was watching your video on San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, I was going to suggest that you come visit Querétaro. My husband and I have been here for 2 months and love it. I’m happy to send you suggestions and ideas of where to go while you’re here. Definitely plan a trip to Pena de Bernal, Tequisquiapan and Sierra Gorda. Locally, check out the Mirador for an awesome view of Los Arcos, go to Cerveceria Hercules for local cervezas, go wine and cheese tasting…..so much to do here! So many interesting colonias and lots of history. Definitely try the enchiladas queretanas. I’m so glad you guys are enjoying Querétaro.

Mexico is so big and has so many great places to visit. We were in Guadalajara for 2 months and loved it. The food is amazing. The tequila is the best. So, I recommend checking it out, and their pueblo mágicos. Another really cool place to visit is San Sebastián del Oeste in Jalisco. You can hike up La Bufa and on a clear day you can see all the way to Puerto Vallarta. Plus they are known for their coffee and a drink called Raicilla made from a wild agave that grows in the area.
So, I’m Mexican-American from California. But I’ve been in Phoenix for the past 14 years. Now in Querétaro. But my family is from Sinaloa and Guadalajara.

I am so glad you guys started with a long walk to the centro because I saw from other CZcamsrs that Querétaro was too suburban and that you need a car to get around if you don't live in Centro. Watching the beginning of the video, Querétaro looks really walkable! Is the climate there comfortable to do long walks like that? I'm in Merida and I know you guys are aware that a 20 minute walk here sometimes feels like an hour because of this heat lol so I'm interested to know if Querétaro is the kind of place where walking around all day or even semi long distances is comfortable?
Hi Eileen! We walked from an eastern suburb at midday and the weather was perfect. The sun was very intense but what else can we expect from a midway walk, in Merida there’s no way you can walk at midday. The entire walk to the centro had a bike lane and public transportation was also available. The bus stations are super modern and they seem easy to take. After dancing around 9ish we walked all the way back to our place. And we felt safe the entire time. So as of now we love that, we can only speak for the suburb we are in. There’s also well known suburbs northwest and north east of Querétaro we will check those out too.

@@EatBailaTravel I do! I live in the Corregidora area. My studio has everything included and a king size bed and maid service. A fantastic view of all of the city. I order groceries from La Comer for home delivery of groceries, Walmart has messed up by not coming to my home, and this is the Plaza de Toros Walmart.
If you are considering moving to Mexico. Querétaro would be a good choice.✌️

It compares in climate and industrial opportunities but Queretaro’s infrastructure seems more advance and it’s cleaner. San Luis Potosí’s centro seems bigger and it’s park tangamanga is super awesome! Not sure if Querétaro offers the same amount of green space San Luis does but San Luis traffic is horrible and it’s infrastructure needs lots of development.

@@Byron4RollTide well weather depends for everyone. We’ve heard Querétaro, Michoacán, Guanajuato and San Luis having perfect weather. But we love hot and humid weather 😂 but Merida is a little too much .
You should try ‘pedos de monja’ and let us know how you like it🤣
I would also suggest you try Cajeta from Celaya, GTO which is about 25 minutes away but they’ve had safety concerns lately, although I know some people who were just there and they said it was fine ✌️
