Thanks. This was super helpful. I reached out a couple directions for advice on neighborhoods I'd be interested to visit QRO, but yours is the only presentation that spoke to me. I wanted to see someplace that had walk-ability and liveliness. In general, QRO is probably too suburban for me, but visiting Carretas and Alamos showed me areas I would find more desirable. I love that you guys did the tour on bike, which really spoke to a lifestyle I'd want to live. I just wish the public bike program here hadn't gone defunct. Anyway, keep up the good life!

Estoy aquí en San Javier con el Instituto Marista. How encouraging to get the experience and confirmation from Alex before looking for a long-term space to live. Everything here is easy to find, except an ATM and the big box stores on the block, Plaza Parque is close enough to them and the mall. Been watching your content for a few months now and have recently decided to focus on Queretaro as my retirement destination. I may also check out a couple of other cities in the Central Highlands. Am planning a trip for next April, possibly staying for 4 weeks.. I have been wondering if Centro would be too noisy for someone my age (will be 65 for the trip). This neighborhood seems like the perfect alternative. I want to be somewhere walkable, near Centro but without all the noise, and a lot of good food options. Thanks for all the content. You do a great job of giving an honest take on living in Mexico.

saint honore has amazing rustic poppy seed bread, brioche dessert, and in general the sweet desserts are awesome. But not the top croissants. good but not top.

Once I decided Querétaro, Mexico would be my next home, I was adamant about NOT living in a gated community! Searching Online for months, I must have reviewed at least 10,000 houses, rejecting anything resembling a condo or a gated community. On my first visit to the city I saw 12 of my Best Pics, and settled on one tentatively. When I returned to the city 2 months later, Monica insisted I see THIS place. Initially I said no. (the photos were horrible), but once I saw it in person, I put in an offer at full price, they accepted, and I moved in 2 months later.

@@alex-wittman Yes, but that's the only way to do it. From what I read in expat groups, many Americans expect a real estate agent to do all the work: To find the Best House in the Best Part of Town. It doesn't work that way in "Kansas" and it doesn't work that way here. My online search was partly for education, but also a 6-month daily job. AND...a lot of fun! I encourage my fellow expats to be brave.
