Alex, I'm seriously begin ing plans for my move to Chapala. I'm a 74-yr old single woman. A former Delta flight attendant with 42 yrs in the sky under my belt. IF.I were your Mom, what advice would you give me? Than ks!!
My mom is also a former Delta flight attendant! She was based in Detroit at the end of her 40-year career (retired during the pandemic). My best advice is to get plugged into the community as soon as possible. I'd search for expat Facebook groups & in Ajijic specifically, get in touch with the Lake Chapala Society. These groups are great resources for real-time info about a specific place and recommendations. Plus, it's a chance to start forming your social life before you're even on the ground.
Can you do a video about Tlaxcala? It seems to be a place that is very much overlooked and underrated.
It's not a place I've traveled to personally, but it looks like it has a lot to offer!
I will be visiting that place (and for that matter Mexico itself) for the first time ever. It looks like an amazing little gem of a place that isn't on the tourist radar, if you know what I mean. It looks amazing, a quaint yet historical place full of beauty and delectable cuisine. As well as, a place with the perfect year-round temperature and that is quite affordable.

We are losing our important waters, all over the world. We are too many on earth. And it doesnt rain enough anymore, plus winters arent as cold: not enough snow to refill it all... Most of these are dry now. People really think it is an endless ressource.

If you're transporting items in your personal vehicle, you shouldn't need to go through the consulate, but I recommend having an inventory list of everything in your truck (translated).

They really are! That's why some people who qualify for permanent residency opt for temporary for the first four years. They want to have their foreign-plated car in Mexico without having to pay the import fees.
Wow, the falls are so beautiful! Too bad the one place was dry, maybe that can be a future trip. I wouldn't have jumped from where Taylor did, too high for me! Mexico never ceases to amaze me with it's beauty.

Hola Alex y Taylor! Hola JT...It's definitely gotten more expensive in the last few years but not so much from inflation as from the exchange rate favoring the peso. I figure I'm spending around $190us more per month than I was a few years ago and it hasn't really caused me to change what I spend my money on. It's also really not enough to break the bank though, at least not my bank. Buena suerte!

Damn. My wife and I are thinking about retiring in La Paz, but I'll be here and driving my vehicle down. It will be an EV.
wish you had made this video in the rainy season so the mountains were nice and green. I am not a fan of how things look deep into dry season... just looks dead and depressing to me. I usually live in Guadalajara but decided to escape the spring heat this year between March - June by heading down to San Cristobal, Chiapas. it's about 10 degrees C cooler here on average than GDL and it's rained about 10 times in 3 months I've been here, so the mountains here stay green year round. my girlfriend is going on vacation with her family to Cuastecomates at the end of July so nice to see it featured in your video!
