In this chunky knit blanket tutorial, I will show you how to hand knit a chunky blanket using bernat chunky yarn. This giant knit blanket knits up really fast and I will be showing you how to make a ribbed knit pattern which is super easy!
Also, I will talk about yarn size tips and tricks on how to make a chunky blanket with chenille versus Merano yarn and discuss the price differences. Also, how to wash your chunky blanket, yarn choice consideration when you have children or pets!

I can not tell you how much I appreciate this tutorial!! The way you broke down each step in such a articulate and concise manner made me want to jump up and make a blanket! 😊 I tried to make these last year but none turned out the way I wanted but it wasn’t until I watch this tutorial that I realized the mistakes I was making. I had watched several tutorials trying to figure out what I was doing wrong but just ended up walking away from it. I’m going to dig out my yarn and try again!

I have watched so many chunky blanket tutorials but yours is the only one that I can actually follow enough to think I can do it. Yours makes me brave enough to think about going and buying the balls of yarn to try to out without huge fear of wasting money. I really want to try one for my own home.

Just finished one of these , first timer, it’s a Xmas present for my brother and his family. Such great instructions. Had a little learning curve but happy with the finished product. Can’t wait to make one for myself

Your way of explaining the hand knitting process is so wonderful. I was going to give up but you have inspired me. I’m into making hand knit blankets with chunky chenille. I’m going to do the pillow cover. I want to make 3 chunky blankets- 2 for XL twin beds
The "2-front, 2-back" way you showed gives prettier results than most other tutorials I've watched. I will attempt this one, even though I've never knitted anything in my life. If I'm going to buy yarn and invest a few hours of my weekend doing this, I want the final product to be as good looking as I can make it. Thank you for the inspiration and the clear instructions. I did it! I bought 14 skein of bernat blanket big yarn. I’ve had it in the back seal of my car for a month. I’m going to have to search your blanket tutorials to find the design I fell in love with. I’m thrilled that this video reinforced my choice of jumbo chenille.
BTW. I love the boys new haircuts. I have a friend who gave his big black standard boy a flat top ala grace jones. It was the coolest grooming I’ve ever seen on a poodle (the standard pulled it off best).

I'm so glad you did this video. I did a couple of hand crochet afghans but I struggled with how much yarn for a big blanket. I love the big ones that fully cover you and extra left over for fur babies lol
