    Brims tights isn’t just big, it’s so thicc that not even a bullet graze makes him feel a thing, while Jett is too thin to a point where even a graze hurts her. Very realistic 10/10 IGN

    When Val came out, rito games said that all hit boxes were identical so that it wouldn’t affect how agents were picked. That’s why big characters have the same hit boxes as the smaller female characters

    I think a possible solution would to make the models work a bit like the emotes in apex, but the opposite way. If you can’t see the *actual* hit box of a character, it doesn’t render the accessories.
    For example: If you can’t see sage’s head, the top of her ponytail isn’t rendered in

      I heard there is such system to prevent hackers from revealing your location, the game doesn't render you until you're close to line-of-sight. But I think making it not render you until your hit box is in line-of-sight will make the game look awkward cause non-hitbox parts will spawn out of nowhere after you can see the hitbox parts and not to mention some possible invisibility bugs coming free along with that.

    Here's a video idea: how fast can an agent rotate? doing one test going straight from one site to the other, going from ct to t spawn, and doing a full outer loop on all the maps with all the agents (also the slowest an agent could go, and how long can an enemy could stop a player from rotating such as using fade's ring)

    The problem is sometimes you can see the characters body because they're bigger even though their hitbox is the same, like the cubby in pearl some characters can't be seen at all if they crouch and look down, some can like jett's ponytail peeking out.

      Good news, with the new update no agent can hide in the pearl cubby as its wall has been lowered slightly to make any agent visible

    While it probably didn't matter due to the closeness of testing, it would've been better to test with an ADS Guardian (or any scoped rifle) as they are 100% accurate (0.0 first shot spread). An ADS Vandal is less accurate than an unscoped Guardian (something like 0.15 vs 0.10 first shot spread off the top my head)

    My only issue with the test is the use of a vandal. Over literally any of the other three more accurate guns. You may be aiming one place but actually hitting the hit box with a bullet

    Small nitpick, the boundaries around a playermodel which can be hit are technically HURTboxes, a hitbox would be on the bullets, any projectiles or util which does damage, etc. A hitbox can hit, a hurtbox can be hit.

    Many a time have I shot part of someone’s hand or elbow whilst sticking out like a sore thumb (quite literally) whist I was enjoying the absolute masterpiece of a weapon called the Operator to do exactly the same amount of damage as if I struck them in the bosom.

    capsule colliders actually take up less processing power than boxes since they're just 2 sphere colliders and the distance vector between them. no idea why boxes were used

    The cheapest collider is a Sphere, then capsule and then the Box, so for them to doing with capsule is very good :D
    they are a mathematical concept, a primitive, so they dont use the "polygons" as shown.

    We've reached an incredible feat of technology and we can't map a 1:1 of a computer made character's hit box, ie covering every inch of the body with no excessive hit boxes that don't make sense

    It makes sense why riot chose to have the larger hitboxes to match larger models vs the alternative. It can be tilting if you see yourself shoot somebody and it doesn't do anything; on the contrary, you can't see your own model in game so bullets that shouldn't hit that are actually hitting isnt a problem.

    Glad I’m not the only one who noticed this issue. As a chamber main there is a 25% chance that I’d whiff my shot if it lands on the edge of a character’s hitbox. sometimes the shot hits even though it looked like it missed after reviewing some of my clips.

    the problem with valorants hitpills is that they dont have a fkin neck, the head is attached straight to the torso causing some neck,chin shots to be counted as torso hits

    I thought all meshes have same collision model applied to them
    wouldnt make any sensense otherwise in a counterstrike type game
    so I dont see how its unfair or wacky
    there is stranger things foing on with overwatch and TF2 hitboxes though
    +Valorant suffers from same issue as csgo and some other shooters, sometimes the hitboxes lag behind the actual player model
    especially when skills liek chambers teleport, yorus teleport or jetts dash goes into play, and I think those issues are more worth looking into.

    That's because the hitbox is the same for each agent, what riot should of done is made hitboxes specifically for EACH agent so this won't be an issue, valorant has INSANE hitbox issues and with the amount of money they make from the skin department im surpised the updates they do are so slow and empty, valorants bundles are around £60-£80 per bundle give or take, theres over 700,000 players that play valorant daily-ish, 700000 x 60 = 42000000, That is the profits valorant makes if each player buys a single bundle, now considering the battle pass and alot of players buy multiple bundles, thats an INSANE amount of money that IS NOT being thrown back into the game itself, the patches are lack luster and theres more bundles and skins than actual game mechanic fixes and designs.
    Ascent still has the wall window bug that lets utility fly through the wall, hitboxes and netcode still a huge issue, the POV of agents depending on how close to a wall you are is wonky, the gunplay couldn't be anymore precise with the stinger being buffed, phantom you can just run and gun, jump shooting and shooting on ropes is still accurate, raze has a rocket launcher than she fly's in the sky with, jett just spams knives for free kills... Valorant is FAR from a competitive FAIR PLAY shooter, why is it popular? because it's too easy compared to other competitive shooters, the ranks are EXTREMELY easy to climb due to the insanely inaccurate RR system in place and the intrusive van guard isn't doing anything against multiple account users, boosters, cheaters and ban evaders...
    overall valorant is on a HUGE downfall in terms of players sticking around unless they focus on mechanics instead of profits.

    i always find it easier to hit a headshot on cypher than anyone else, because the hitbox is almost as big as the hat brim and it gives an outline for me

      I can never hit headshots on cypher.. his hat goes so far down that I try to aim below it and end up hitting his neck/chest. Or maybe I just poke holes in the top of his hat :/

    I was testing to get the same conclusion, but there is another interesting fact, If you place a brim in front of a viper, and you try to shot viper let's say on the hip/chest sides, you will not be able, Brimstone at front is bigger than Viper (of course)... But try the opposite, Place viper in front of Brim, align it properly, then YOU WILL BE ABLE to hit Brimstone chest/hip even if viper is closer to the camera. As a result, I can tell the hitboxes are not the same. Unless I see the real hitboxes on action, my tests confirms they are not.

    I've had the hair problem with neon, when approaching in the ramp tunnel in icebox. The enemy sees my pigtails before my eyes reach the sight angle :/

    The issue is that Jett looks like a harder target, so you take an extra split second to aim that can make or break. Then you have brim, who looks like a large target and you're surprised when your shots aren't landing.

      If your shots aren't landing on Brim however, it's more than likely your own fault. As shown in the video, Brim's hitbox is fine except for the extra details on his model like the holster and the grenades on his front chest.

    In apex bigger legends have a passive ability named fortified which means they take 34% less damage and don’t take bullet slow (Gibraltar included)

    Honestly in this game, the hit box varies depending on the rounds. For example, when you are winning 7-2 the enemies hit box will become harder. The reason for this is, as the game is made to deliver beginner friendly experience, to give the losing enemy team some chance so that it is fair and balanced.
    There are two different anti aiming system:
    1) Hit box - this is when your bullets hit them but the shots just do not register.
    2) Crosshair repel - when your crosshair skips pixels and it will not be on them until the enemy shoot you once. You can prove this yourself by saving the clip where you died (when winning by large number) and slow it down or better, use a pro streamers clip. If you play on a low sensitivity you will know for sure that your little mouse movement will not move your crosshair significantly that it skips the enemy body while spraying them down.
    The way to counter act this system is to use a utility before dueling. This is obviously the point of Valorant but it pisses you off sometimes because your raw aiming skills cannot be applied in the game. Because without this system the god aimers would completely destroy the whole point of utilities and can carry the team single-handedly, but of course that would be unbalanced. Riot is clever for making this because it will punish smurfs and the first point, to balance the game (making it beginner friendly). That is also why comebacks happen 98% of the time on each match.
    There is also a thing called 'over-heat' which basically means after killing a few enemies your aim is rigged (point 2 anti aim system) and if you do not fall back and give some time, you will lose the gun fight.

    valorant is a character based competitive shooter so there will be different character models but they have done a good job of at least keeping the hitboxes at reasonable shape of characters unlike overwatch with its almost twice as big hitboxes. well they arent as accurate as csgo hitboxes but i believe they satisfy their purpose for valorant
