Alfredo Griffin at 7:20 actually had an explanation. The Jays were beating the Red Sox and the game was in danger of being called because of rain. So they wanted the quick at-bats to get through the inning.
The Blue Jay/Yankee one at 7:30 was due to the fact that it was raining, the Jays were up by a mile and they wanted to get the game to 5 innings to make it official, and give Jack Morris his 20th win as a Blue Jay that year, so the Jays were going up to strike out and swing at everything to get it done with.

It's bad coaching and/or dumb players. There's always a priority, so that when two players call for a ball, the guy higher on the priority is the one who gets it. For the infield, it's usually shortstop, second, third, first, catcher, pitcher. For the outfield, center is always on top. And when it's between an infielder running out and an outfielder running in, it's the outfielder who gets the priority because their momentum gives them a better chance at throwing the ball in time to where it's needed. Different teams might change things up a bit, depending on the quality of player at each position, and there's probably situational changes as well, but it's the coaches' job to think all that stuff through and teach it to the players, and the players job to remember it all. Good fielding teams have it all planned out, bad fielding teams end up on videos like this.
1:15 is absolutely not a "Why?" moment at all. It's just smart. Up 15 in the 4th why not wind down the clock? Only 2.5 mins left in the game and it doesn't affect the shot clock at all. He doesn't need to pick the ball up until a defender comes near him b/c then they threaten to pick it up.
@@joedorben3504 that's correct. But the idea here is that they should've used their brains and stopped him from running out the clock. This specific situation is rare, but it's not rare for teams to try and run out the clock when leading

Ok ok ok, I found the best one 11:58 He intercepts it, get tackled by a teammate causing a fumble, recovered by an opponent in the end zone for a touchdown! I can't stop laughing!
I noticed that too! It’s because the catcher saved the umpire from being hit by the ball bouncing off the wall behind home-plate. The umpire never saw it and was probably like “Why is this guy patting me?”
