Why not mutate Gemrazer into Gemrazer instead of a token against the last deck? Double trigger and protection from Bowmasters seemed like the best play. Am I missing something?
Asmo's activation was live, therefore anything he mutated was going to die. So without knowing about Bowmaster, the plan was to bait out the removal on a token as opposed to the Gemrazer.

What a cool deck!! Do you consider using beseech the mirror in this deck to double down on the searching? I think this has a ton of potential at being targeted hate focused. I guess the triple black is a bit rough though
So many ways to approach this. Building the side deck is actually has some huge room for creativity and possibility
Beseech could work! It would likely force us to play the one ring, though. The list is a bit tight as it is, but both gemrazer and case are legal in Pioneer, so perhaps there's a Pioneer deck for beseech!
@@MagicAids I don't see harm in a one off ring, especially with how often you can be one turn off being lethaled
The SB blowouts would still end up being stronger than ring, especially since the entire strategy is dedicated to this. I always like searching for more consistent ways to access your payoffs when there's so much of a deck building tax on it
Hell, with how quickly you empty your hand, ensnaring bridge may be worth using

Yeah, that last match was doomed from the moment you couldn't play Engineered Explosives for 1. Although the guy relied on a shit ton of luck top decking another Ass a few turns before, that play could only save you through a miracle.

Hi daddy, what are your toughts on the new surveil lands?
I can give you this answer: does your deck make use of the graveyard?
If yes, use them. If not, use Scry lands.
If your deck has graveyard synergies (And runs fetches), it's usually pretty easy to slot one/two in as a utility option.
The new fetch lands are seeing quite a bit of play as 1 or 2 of's and many decks! There are sometimes where fetching for an untapped land doesn't help at all, and in that case, being able to surveil is certainly an advantage!
Turns out choke is good. I also think diobolic intent is a better tutor for decks like this.
It is sorcery speed, but it could work!

I was using it in a orzhov scam deck with 4 copies of treacherous greed and lingering souls. Treacherous greed being a fun card should it resolve.

I always enjoy your Gemrazer brewing, but it never feels very well-positioned in whatever Arena format I'm playing at the time. In Historic pre-Bowmaster/Ring nerfs, artifact hate that destroys was pretty much blank, and now in Timeless, you really want your Rec Sage to be an actual ETB so that it can come down off your opponent's Show and Tell to kill their Omniscience.
The metagame to be very much like that! It's hard to have a card be at the right place at the right time!

@@MagicAidsI think this deck would be a good place to try it out. Maybe - Endurance + Charm maindeck and -2 endurance - pick your poison + 3 charm in sideboard? And then also maindeck 1 or 2 bajuka bogs, then charm can also exile the graveyard at instant speed.
I haven't seen so much (sideboard)hate since Christmas at my conservative Uncle's house.
