How to Setup 4K & HDR on your Xbox One S Console & Samsung TV

- Hi, this video shows you how to manually setup 4K resolution and HDR on the Xbox One S Console and a Samsung TV (40" UHD TV Model: UE40KU6000K). I also setup Game Mode to allow the TV be more responsive.

@@laser1330 it does what the PS4 Pro does, it upscales it to 4k.
For anyone who has a 2017 Samasung 4K UHD Tv model and CAN'T find "HMDI UHD Color" in Settings > Picture > Expert Settings, you should be able to find it INSTEAD under General > External Device Manager, and it should be under there along with the Game Mode option. Your Welcome!! I had to call Samsung Customer Service to fix that :) And I FINALLY got all my green checks in the Xbox One 4K TV Details so thank you uploader!!
Danny Mendoza you sir an absolute genius, just setting up my new 49mu7000 and couldn't find the uhd colour at all, as well as game mode. I was about to cry. Xbox one s now working fine!

Blake Willis my man let me ask you a question. You decided to go with an xbox s and not an x, all in all is the x really far ahead than the s that you're be missing out buy saving money and just getting an xbox s? Don't wanna spend unnecessary money...
main difference is the S wont play games in 4k, the X will.

The S upscales 900p and 1080p games to display in 4k on your 4k TV. The X does this as well but has the hardware to handle some games in native 4k if the developers utilize the technology to do so

It's 2k on the one s. The rest is placebo.the one s only plays movies in 4k not games.

Man I was really upset when I bought a $1500 tv and was told it was hdr and said so in the specs but I couldnt get my One X to show all green checks. After this, I got all green checks man you are a life saver! Thanks mate definitely liked and will share as well!

Hi My Mate VINCE bit late to the party but stumbled up on your video a couple of months back now, Had my lg4k tv for a couple of years now best move i ever made, but never knew if i was using the hdmi ports properly to get the most out of my tv with the xbox i thought having it in the "Arc" port in the back thats where you get your 4k goodness but no, just got a ps4 too and followed the same steps in your video so swapped them over between 1-3 ports and boy i can tell a difference on how it feels moving between the menus feels so much smoother now compared to what it was like in the arc port, and when you get the picture settings right then thats the icing on the cake, so thanks for making this video along with ps4 one and will come back to this for reference for future console releases such as the xbox series x

@@Dr.RojoMcDelly No, you're the one with the BS here cos at the very least all the games will output at 4K. Not all of them will render at 4K internally, but they'll hit the TV at the native 2160p resolution which makes a huge difference rather than just upscaling 1080p.

That console is amazing, i didn't knew that the S could upscale HD games to 4K, that's just very impressive.

Omg thank you so much. I got the 55ku6020 knowing it was a hdr tv swapped my old Xbox to the new Xbox S and when I tried it. The Xbox detected 4k right away. But I tried forza horizon 3 and no hdr worked. I was thinking I made a huge mistake. I contacted Samsung and a to shop and none of them could tell me if the to was hdr10 enabled. And no help on google I was about to give up and then I CZcams it. And found your video. My tv is identical to yours apart from its 55 inch and I followed your steps and. Boom worked HDR gaming Thanks great video

great video man, I'm considering the upgrade of my tv into proper 4k hdr version as the quality image on my xbox s & hd ready combo isn't that great to be honest. do you think its worth spending 450-500 euro? is it really that noticable?
