      I purchase the edible flowers at Whole Foods or Safeway. They usually sell them right next to other fresh herbs. It should freeze nicely!

      Thank you! Cake flour will work well for this recipe, too. Add an extra 2 tablespoons per cup of cake flour to equal the quantity in 1 cup of all-purpose flour.

    Hi there. This is a more interesting recipe than other hummingbird recipes I've seen. I've seen a couple with coconut, and I'd LOVE to add some in. How would you advise doing it, as I know coconut can suck up a lot of moisture. Thanks in advance 😉

      Hi Tracey! It's such a delicious cake! If you want to add some coconut, I would add no more than 1/2 cup since the recipe already has so many fillings. Maybe you can garnish the sides of the cake with toasted coconut? Enjoy!

      Yes, you can absolutely use the recipe to make cupcakes. You'll want to bake at the same temperature, 350F, for about 20 to 22 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center to check for doneness.

      Hi! Yes, you can use fresh pineapple! I would pulse it in a food processor a bit, then strain the extra juice through a fine mesh strainer

      You can make your own buttermilk! Just use 1 cup of regular milk and add a few tablespoons of lemon juice or white vinegar. Stir and let stand for a few minutes, then use in the recipe.

    Hummingbird cake is delicious. Yours looks almost too beautiful to eat. As for the transfer, I try to use cake boards. I don't want to risk destroying the cake.

    Tatyana, you should include how you make cream in THIS video. By separating the cream from the layers is very tricky and it's apparent that you want to increase view count.
