Telltale ADAPTION Potential & HUGE Crossover! Clementine & Lee Telltale Games The Walking Dead

- In this video I breakdown the concept of the Telltale games story of Clementine & Lee getting adapted into the TV The Walking Dead universe! Watching The Last of Us recently has reminded me of another tale of a father-daughter duo in the zombie apocalypse. The Telltale games are set in The Walking Dead's comic universe while Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes is in the tv universe. After The Walking Dead season 11 ending and Rick Grimes returned, although it was the end of the main show it was the start of a whole new set of The Walking Dead spin-offs. After the Rick Grimes story is complete in the Rick and Michonne series, I believe this is exactly what The Walking Dead will be wanting to do as they expand and implement into the universe and franchise.
Here's why I think the story of Clementine and Lee should be adapted into The Walking Dead tv universe and why it's never been more likely than now. From an incredible story, a great cast of characters, returning characters and crossovers, this is what a Tale in The Walking Dead should be. A season 5 of The Walking Dead from Telltale is also extremely likely.

Tales was so disappointing. The writing was terrible.
I have always wanted a Clementine crossover or appearance and after so much of the failed writing in TWD and Fear, I can't believe they never used the Tell Tale Clementine storytime.

Or when Lee goes bad ass in the street killing like 50 some walkers again great for a live action show or when Clementine asks AJ to kill her that’s the saddest thing I’ve ever seen again be great in a live action show.

Yeah this side of telltale fanbase are in shambles. Anybody in their right mind knows this bs would be trash and a waste of time yall really are just bored or desperate.
Lee would be LONG dead by that point. Given that the show Universe outbreak started in 2010, he wouldn’t make it past 2011. He only survives about a year before he gets bit at the end of season 1.
Just imagine the scene where lee gripped the glass shard in his hand and walks thru and kills so many walkers in a crowd while bit in live action

I have wanted a telltale story adaptation since like 2013. It would hopefully remain COMPLETELY separate from the other shows (but in universe). Maybe like 7-8 seasons of the story from seasons 1-4 of the game (heavy changes obviously because there’s A LOT of problems with the game story, but the ideas are solid).

I told my brother the same, I think it would be so freaking cool seeing Clem and Lee's adventure in an adaptation. The story would go by the most taken decisions. Just Imagine a 4 season (s1, s2, new frontier, final season) walking dead with Clem and Lee. Also if I have to choose I would probably choose the kenny & lee friendship decisions.
I'd definitely want to see a Telltale Walking Dead TV adaptation, but considering Lee's fate, I don't see him being in a Rick Grimes show, unless it's a flashback.
If they ever were to do a adaptation of this, they can still stick to the element of the game by making it an interactive show where you choose your own decisions the same way that Netflix did with black mirror
The only issue with this adaption is that its stepping into an era where the "Father/child" dynamic is now entering series, it makes sense that its popular due to how gamers are now turning into fathers, as are the devs.. But for this to stand out, it's going to have to beat TLOU/Mandolorian and the upcoming God of War.. And if its done by AMC, I doubt it can do that.

I started playing the first season of TellTale Walking Dead weekly at the start of this year, just as Last of Us just got release and ended up watching the series and playing the game at the same time..
And honestly I thought the same thing when you said at the start of the video that the Last of us reminded you of the 1st season of Telltale Walking Dead, great opening of the video btw!

To deal with the choice aspect, the writers could either pick the choices themselves based on how they want lee to be or they could go with the most popular options from telltales stats
I was just talking about this. I want this so bad. I love the walking dead game and I’ve been wanting to see a live action version of it since i finished the game. TLOU has proven that this is completely doable with a team of people who care about the characters and getting the story right. Clementine is my favorite character in this universe, and considering the way her story ends in the game, i think so many people would fuck with it. They need to do it

one cool thing about the game is throughout the beginning you can hear faint gunshots everywhere and sometimes screams but it all Slowly fades as you progress through the game

I don’t know if you have any subscriptions that allow you to watch it but I highly recommend you watch the show. Season 1-2 are perfect, season 3 is a little slow, season 4-6 are great.
My pick for Lee is Idris Alba, I've thought of this since back in 2017, also when Hugh Jackman was picked for Joel for the live action.
Don't know much about Clem tho since there's not a lot of actress who looks like clem.

I would absolutely love a live action tv version of these games. They could even add in new story content to fill in gaps between time-skips if they wanted. I just want to see Clem, Kenny, and Lee in live action, though seeing Luke in live action would be awesome too. Those were my four favorite characters in the games(with Clem being my favorite character in the franchise). And as for villains, a live action Carver would give Negan a run for his money.
Hell yeah, I would watch that. I love Clementine and Lee the ending when he dies is heartbreaking and I’ve seen grown men cry on it.
I need to play the telltale games, it seems really well written.
The only thing is it would show us the cannon options on all the choices and dialogue which I wouldn’t really like but I that’s my opinion. It would still be cool though.
As someone who has play ALL and I mean ALL (even the VR one) of The Walking Dead games, I frankly would LOVE to see a TV adaption of season 1 (Or any season for that matter)
Maybe it could be all one show that correlate their season to the ingame storys so Season 1 of that show would be the game Season 1 and Season 2 would be, well Season 2 and so forth maybe even throw in the 400 Days DLC as it's own little episode just before Season 2 to further tie in everything.
If done right that could be very neat.

@@Talons97 Maybe but if they were to make a tv adaptation in the case of the telltale games I wouldn't stray too far from the original storyline.
Obviously they would have to change parts of the story because sometimes you make a decision that will lead to another characters death or survival so they would need to figure that one out.
Maybe just generally keeping in line with the source material would be the way to go.
(Could also mean that Season 1 would have a short Steven Yeun cameo until Glenn leaves for atlanta lol)

It would make a good show but honestly I simply don’t trust that AMC could pull it off, it would probably have a 10$ budget.
I don’t know how the rights could work but an animated show done like Invincible could also work out really well.
Personally this would be a great direction to go ive always felt telltale did an amazing job on not only expanding but even improving the direction of the ip still to this day

I have a neat idea of how they could tie the walking dead saints and sinners into this, while Rick was gone between s9 to s11 he gets lost in the bayou of Louisiana where Rick finds a graveyard and he then hears a gun click behind him as he turns to see for the first time ever the face of the tourist and then they work together for a while in the 3rd game of the walking dead saints and sinners where a badass combo of Ricky dicky doo dah grimes and the tourist take down the tower once and for all and then return at the end of season 11 and then the tourist joins Alexandria and the smouldering wreck of Nola behind
A live action show where they run into negan and the saviors at some point before ricks group does
If this doesn't happen, and if Clementine Suite isn't part of the soundtrack, I'm going to literally evaporate.

lots of points to talk about if this live-action really happens. but in episode 1, do you think they would leave Carley or Doug alive? In the save-lots saga, would the villains be more prominent as planned for the game? How would they do it when Lee and Kenny's family are on the farm? Since the Hershel actor died?!
Who said there could only be one first episode I'd be more expensive. I think they should make a story with the dug side and Carly if you chose to save Ben or not multiple episodes to watch plus a choice based show if you want to choose your own story
Well tbh a great thing for this show but not the game so much in particular, is that the choices of telltale games in the end really didn't matter it didn't really impact all of the outcomes; you were gonna be put in the same end situation whether or not u saved this one character rather than the other (maybe not so much in the final game of the telltales twd game series) but even then, they all pretty much ended the same way. Sure, you experience different things emotionally but nothing changed the circumstances of what was gonna happen and nothing you did do/choose was going to avoid it, your choices really didn't matter in the end. So the show can do whatever they want when it comes to choices in the game they can do whatever that will make the show better for us watching, it'll all still end up the same way/same situations. What would be really cool imo is if that at the end of each or some episodes we the viewers can choose some of these choices it works kind of like this: The show leaves us on a cliffhanger or a major event that's unfolding and just before the show ends it presents us with a choice that we can make and vote for before the next week episode airs like we can vote for the choice of saving this one character or the other, killing this person or not killing them, running away or staying and fighting etc. and we can all vote on a website or app or whatever for a couple days after that episode airs and whatever the majority chooses will happen and be revealed in next weeks episode! Just like how they did it in the games sort of. That would be really cool, more work tho but cool asf.
I'd Probably Choose Zendaya As Clementine As She Does Resemble The Season 4 Clem Pretty Much. Not Sure Who Could Play Child Clem Though.
For Lee, There's A Whole Lot Of Actors Who Could Play Him In Live Action. Idris Elba Seems Like A Neat Choice, Not That I Could Think Of Anyone Else Besides Him.
For Kenny, That's A Hard One In My Opinion. But Maybe Either Keanu Reeves, Hugh Jackman Or Robert Downey Jr For A Live Action Kenny.
Overall, I'd Love To See A Live Action Adaption Of Telltale's Walking Dead Series, Especially By HBO Since They Did Great On The Last Of Us. If It Was HBO, I'd Want To See Them Do Their Own Walking Dead Universe Instead Of Crossing Over With AMC's Walking Dead Universe, Making It More Of A Reboot. Maybe Recast Some Characters That Would Look Like Their Comicbook Counterparts Like Rick, Glenn, Shane And Carl.
It's not something I ever really thought about when I played through the first season but...how long was Lee unconscious for after that accident?
Like, when he and that officer leave Atlanta; Atlanta is still in perfect condition. There are only even hints of the outbreak, with the radio and the police cars that race past Lee and the cop; and then he gets to Clementine's house and she mentions how Sandra died two whole days ago? And that's without even mentioning just how dilapidated the area looks.

I think the best way to go about it is to WAIT. Wait for the current spin offs (R&M, dead city, and Daryl) to go away and THEN do a small soft reboot of the walking dead where we see the games brought to live action.
Go from game to game and make a new “The Walking Dead” series where as mentioned before we see old characters in different moments before WE first met them to get more back story on the ones we love and see how they got to where they were.
Honestly just follow the games perfectly and cast properly and it would be phenomenal.
i feel like if they do this as a live action it should be connected to the tv universe but they don’t meet rick,daryl,shane etc. just keep it contained as possible from the main show
well I wasn't aware of that last little tidbit. Makes me think something already in the works or atleast they are thinking bout it. I take this in place of the Daryl n Carrol spinoff that didn't happen. I'll just be sitting on my hands waiting on the next game release hoping it will happen before I'm 50. 😆

I’m pretty sure Robert Kirkman has said that he doesn’t want a Clementine show, especially in the AMC Universe
If it ever does happen then how will we see the TT-TWD timeline happen? All together with the existing universe, right before and between the main show and FTWD? Or a total different universe more directed to the comic/TT-TWD universe as the games and comics are?
Because we already seen the Green Family in the main show, Glenn and Michonne, heck even Jesus. So how will this be adapted? If they would do a before-timeline we could see the origins of the Green Family barn being filled with walkers, Glenn before he goes to Atlanta and well Jesus before he meets Rick since Hilltop already existed for some time. And I'm questioning a bit if they would show the DLC as well the 100 days version that explain a couple characters that will show up in Season 2's game too and if we would see a remastered or a whole new origin story of Michonne.
I don’t think it should be tied to AMC walking dead but Glen and Hershel and Jesus could reprise their roles if a show gets made. Everything that happens in telltales walking dead happens before Rick Grimes story we follow in AMC walking dead. Telltale as 4 games it can follow for a tv show story and there’s a lot of great content minus that third game but some changes could be made like HBO has done with Last Of Us.

Personally i just finished the entire story a couple months ago. Played season 1, 2, and probably the 400 days back when it came out.
That definitive edition came out for console though and couldnt help but play through it lol.
Lee and Clems story was easily better than 9/10th's of any of the story we got from Walking or from Fear
Lee should be easy enough, it's Clementine I'm worried about. Clem needs to be 100%, we don't need another Ellie lol. Yes, the actress who plays Ellie is good but she looks nothing like her.

My whole issue with the future of the walking dead has been how they saw it’s the end of the main show but the beginning of the universe, to me it sounds like they are going to drag out these spin-offs, what I believe they NEED to do is this, have the spin-offs all connect and have the CRM be the final enemy and have a endgame like finale where all the characters are together again against the CRM and have an ending to the Grimes era of story. THEN continue the Walking Dead universe by beginning a new Era, Clementines story, put all the characters from the last 10-15 years to rest and adapt these Telltale characters, have that be the new era of the universe, make it the new show, due spin-offs of characters if you want, and hell we could even see old characters like Glenn and Jesus etc when it’s time, there’s so much they could do there that’s new instead of dragging the current characters, basically wrap up the current TWD era in a huge CRM war then begin a new era with The telltale characters
if this happens PLEASE keep Lee alive or at least have him live longer and PLEASe keep Kenny alive for sure.

Honestly telltale's walking dead season 1 and 2 is my favorite piece of walking dead media. It's just so good and timeless in story and execution that I can't believe they haven't adapted it into the AMC series yet. AMC has ignored this in favor of side projects like Fear, Tales, and that other goofy one with the teenagers I never watched while missing perhaps one of the greatest pieces of zombie fiction. Baffling, tbh

im a bit late to this party but im pretty sure it wouldn't happen. I would love to see it but its unlikely as theres many endings to the seasons and so many vital options and considering that telltale said ur choices are canon which means there isnt really a proper canon story its whatever ur story is it becomes canon to urself which means that this show might have trouble with that if there isnt a proper source material or canon ending and also people might get mad if the endings they chose didn't become canon which might cause some backlash against the show so that is why i believe it won't become a reality
if they do live action i need the guy who plays zion (the older version) in Georgia & Ginny series to play Lee he looks and sounds like him ....
