Governor's interpretation of SC judgment and its import is crystal clear.
Void ab initio means void (not valid) right from the beginning.
All he has done is to invoke the SC judgment which is a judgment in rem and therefore applies to all VC appointments across the country. By doing so he has not run down or humiliated the current incumbents of the posts. Only the process is struck down and therefore the incumbent has to step down.Process review and course correction has to take place and should be validated by the law of the land as well as in the context of judicial scrutiny.
