I love this video not because it’s for sale it’s clearly sold but to see how it looks on the water. We bought one of these so did our friend in a weird coincidence but what he says is accurate it’s a budget friendly boat great for first timers to get out on the water.
I legitimately just bought this exact setup yesterday. Engine runs great, upholstery needs replacing (already have) and the center of the floor is weak, but otherwise looking forward to getting it in the water :)
There’s usually a Recommended range for a minimum to maximum Horsepower (HP). That being said the recommendation is just that a recommendation, and doesn’t mean that you couldn’t potentially put a Higher HP motor on it. I think it has a lot to do with the weight more then anything. That being said, there are Newer motor’s that have have higher amounts of horsepower, and less weight then other motors. So just do a little research on your boat see what the weight capacity is on your Boat Transit, what the recommended HP range is, and then with those Numbers start looking for the Motor that doesn’t max out the weight on your Transit but could be significantly higher in H.P. But don’t try an get to ridiculous on the H.S. amount, cause there’s also other things to consider like overall boat weight an thrust exerted on the Transit. So try an find that balance of weight, H.P., that give you the extra power you want and balances out other boat aspects.

I have one, it's a 87 Cobra close bow with a 85hp Force on it. Starts up everytime. Only issue mine has is the upholstery n carpeting needs redone.
still have our bayliner to this day... still the only boat for me.. :)

I have the same boat with an 130 hourse power motor and it’s inboard
The Bayliner Cobras never had an Inboard style motor.
Those 85 hp Forces get a lot of hate, but ours is still going with no issues at all. It literally start up on the first crank every spring.
Heard there is a hydraulic system to trim and run the engine up and down, for this engine?
