- This video explains the basics of how to get a correct trimming of a boat with outboard or sterndrive to get a better navigation. The trim angle of the outboard or sterndrive has a great impact on the speed and fuel consumption of the boat especially with the boat on plane.

Hold my beer while I go full speed with my outboard and try to adjust the pin manually for trim
My thoughts exactly 🙄
I’ve seen this done many times before…. Successfully? Only once.
I’m so sick of computer voices.
Agreed
With female British accent!
Just wait until they get sick of human voices
Ok boomer

Great video, very too the point.
Thank you. From AI Robot 😂
Do a video on the science and best way to set a jack plate please.
excelente informacion
Hobart! thanks for the tips, will look for you on the Derwent ;)
Lol, thought it looked familiar as well.
yeah what the :O
can you give more insights on the trim in the inboard vessels
good video actually. I finally understood this. I think i like ever so slightly negative trim, to keep the nose down. Also i really hate porpoising.
wrong
@@sharonbraselton4302 you're wrong
Godjob😎👍
I always trimmed it up until hearing a little cavitation, then trim it down a little.
When I were lad you had to pull rod out at transom and put it nearer the sharp end or the blunt end. Aye them were the days. 😀
Good
nice
Thank you 🎈🎈💡💡
Missing grease on drive shaft have the same probleme on mine
Cool thank you
So basically you want to keep the motor parallel with the water surface,is that correct?
yes you do
The prop shaft is parallel to water surface, the outboard would then be perpendicular.
most boat manufacturers dont recommend adjusting trip while operating .. how shall we do it
Adjusting trim while moving is how you should use it. From what you're saying, automatic trim adjusting outboards shouldn't exist then right?
How can you adjust your trim for the changing conditions if you can't do it while underway. That is why you have the trim switch. You either read it wrong misunderstood it or the manual is ass wrong. You must adjust trim while underway.
@@Dan-uv3vf really mate.. Tohatsu manual book says " stop the engine before adjusting the trim"
@@pildoradeolvidoyou probably have a small engine without hydraulic cylinders. In this case absolutely do not adjust with motor running
planning and beau??

Right?
Would be great if a human that could say Bow and Planing was involved in the video :D
It’s works at higher speeds…big game trolling that same trim angle sucks at fuel economy!!
wroñg
@@sharonbraselton4302 …I do big game trolling in Hawaii 11-12 hrs constant in sometimes heavy seas with a 22’and 25 ‘ boats with twin outboards…a trim (bow )up angle may be good to keep bow spray to a minimum but sucks fuel…where’d you get your info ???

Who is that
POWER TRIM IS NOT ENOUGH YOU NEED A POWER JACK PLATE WITH POWER TRIM
175hp on 17ft Bullet! JACK IT OUT! Faster race boats use this method, not for 2hp on a Canoe!
Not hydraulic
It’s not pronounced “planning” - it’s “planing”. You dozy computer produced algorithm…….
Jeez ...l. Can't you bother to use a live narrator? Robo voice is bad!
waste of time
Я русский ничего непонятно 🙁
Lmao
Why didn't someone explain to the automaton doing the narration that 'planing' is not the same as 'planning'. Planing refers to skimming over the surface of the water quickly and efficiently.
Planning is what you do when you are making up your schedule.
My guess is the actual moron here is the person who is responsible for the automatons lexicon.
