one of the best live shows I've ever seen. RIP double K. going back through this old stuff in the wake of his passing it feels like we're saying goodbye not just to double but to PUTS altogether. These guys were like the epitome of having fun making music with your friends. As a rapper/producer/head that's getting up into my mid-30s, it makes me reflect on the times spent making music with my friends and I feel sad for some reason. Maybe it's cause I miss not having some of those people in my life anymore.... maybe cause just thinking about what Thes is going through makes me miss my old partner in rhyme that I grew apart from... or maybe cause this past year has been so fucked up and we've been losing musical heroes left and right. Maybe it's easier to process the passing of someone I didn't even know than the friend I lost this year.... maybe cause I'm getting older. God damn I miss live music.

Unfortunately, they were performing to only about 15 people, as it was about 12 in the afternoon, on Sunday, when many of the festival-goers were still asleep in their tents! They still put 100% into their performance though. I went looking for their music as soon as I got home.

I thought it was because of constantly getting sued of samples that weren't cleared and people online mentioning the samples used for the songs they made. The owners of the artist's musical catalogs that they are sampling from were sueing them not the artists themselves. It got costly being that they were asking for hundreds of thousands of dollars for sample clearances.
Once this was uploaded I realized how priceless it was. Then I realized I have this material too in my still unboxed, wrapped CD: cases. But yeah.. hit home and hard even before Mikes passing but now it's gutting. Rest in peace King Mike Turner. #restinpeacedoubleK

I used to know a ton, but am having a tough time finding them and remembering the original samples. Puts have introduced us to such good music, that we woulda never came across otherwise.
