For the life of me I’ve never received so many comments on a video trying to tell me how I should have done my hair. I am VERY experienced with natural curls on different textures and for longevity this product cannot be used alone on Type 4 hair. Now I make these videos to inform ppl on the best products to use based on MY PREFERENCE. My job is not to make a product work it should create less work for me. Now if this product worked for you take it to your own channel. I SAID WHAT I SAID!

@@KimberlyCherrell you are right but if you look at your comment above you generalized type 4 hair. Maybe if you are going to say that type 4 hair can't just use 1 product/line alone I would probably define what category of type 4 hair you are referring to. Everyone's curl pattern and texture are different. I guess my point is how would you know how a product is truly going to work unless you actually tried the Curl Mix line by itself. Maybe consider redoing the review

Flakes happen when products don't mix well together. I think it's because you used SM leave in and it doesn't mix with curlmix gel.
Curlmix flakes something awful if you mix or not a little or a lot. I love the results but it flakes really bad always.

Chondrell Wilkerson I do not use a lot a very small amount. My hair doesn’t need much product and it flakes something awful. All over my clothes. Love the results hate the flaking.
How funny, I used it yesterday for the first time before seeing this video. I used a different leave in and used their conditioner and the gel and I had clumps of product after my hair dried. I came to the conclusion that you can't mix their products at all. I'm not a fan of it either.

@@JanelleC427 I agree with you I love me some Kimberly reviews and her wash n gos be the bomb.com and its nothing against her personally at all but I do too feel like if a youtuber is gonna do a product review and its their first time trying the product then they shouldn't mix the products with other brands because it gives an inaccurate first impression it kind of defeats the purpose of the (first time) review.. However when it comes to Killer Combos and reviews like that then its cool to mix stuff and play around. When I first try a product I always use it by its self first or either something in the same line because not everything mixes together alot of lines make products to work specifically together for a reason. Either way i thought her hair came out beautiful. And don't pay anyone else's negative response.... you were just stating your opinion and many others including mine... some people can't handle when others don't agree with them so they resort to petty attacks because they're in the comfort of their homes in front of a computer or smart phone but in person it would be another conversation and not as disrespectful but alot of people have more courage over the internet I notice but they know what it really is if they were face to face with you. 🙃 #notbotherd

The thumbnail was so harsh I was expecting the worst but it came out fine just a different look. It's nice to play with different looks, even no gel sometimes and not feel like it must always be laid. Entertaining video!
I liked how your hair looks. Have you tried it with less product? Might help with the flaking.
Using gloves while detangling is the best. My daughters and I actually did a video showing how to do it a while ago

1.To use flaxseed or other mucilagenous products ( slimy as you said) it is very important to use a similar leave in, preferably one from the same line. BC these natural products give good def but WILL flake if u mix it with the wrong leave in
2. Hair has to be SOAKING WET. Some ppl apply this stuff in the shower. If your hair isn’t really wet you will get suboptimal results
3. If you apply while very wet you won’t have to overapply, which will reduce casting ( which is normal) and flaking.
Also wet line extreme doesn’t work well alone on 4c, but applied over another gel will prolonge the style and seal in great moisture
Her hair came out really nice. Looks nice on her. For thicker hair that's long, it's always going to take a lot of product.

Separated curls are cute and when I want that look I can use a cheap ampro gel on my 4A coils but since I prefer a more clumped style I'll pass on this one. When you was showing the texture of the gel, I was like "uh oh that's thin as hell" yeah thanks for the review! I need a heavy/ thick gel

I've just this product & used Camille Rose Naturals Curl Love Moisture Milk as my leave-in. I got a bomb Wash-n-Go! I have very fine, thick kinky coily low porosity hair. The flaxseed gel by itself was NOT a one product wash-n-go for my hair.

Oh yes it certainly gives BIG day 1 hair but yes their containers are too small. We need 5 lb sizes for us thick hair peeps lol

This product is way to expensive! They were in shark tank and it cost them $3 a bottle but charges $25 to $28 per bottle ☹️🤔 it’s a no for me dog

Curl Mix is a great product,however if you have 4C hair it doesn’t hold the curl as wonder curl get set and Aunt Jackie’s no shrink. These two gel are excellent for 4 C hair without build up no flaking. Also the two gels I mentioned give incredible shine.
I definetly don't see 4c hair in a lot of these reviews.

I had flaking issues at the first 2-3 times I tried using this line, but found that 1. Make sure you wash your hair really well. Do a second shampooing if needed. 2. Spritz a little oil spray on each section before adding the leave-in. I use the Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla oil. Haven’t tried the Curl Mix brand...3. Use a good amount of third product, the leave in conditioner. I watched their tutorial and realized I wasn’t using enough. 4. Don’t lose too much gel. She used waaay too much.
I almost gave up on the stuff, but I did all these steps on my last wash and go and it came out like hers without the flakes. And I’m one day two. Still looks good.
I don’t think that it’s necessary to use the Curl Mix shampoo and conditioner, though I love the slip of the conditioner. I have not tried mixing the gel with other brands though. The oil helps seal in the moisture so my hair is softer, less crunch. I also think the absorbs or mixes with the leave-in and gel to prevent the flaking.
I wonder if they’ll let me customize a package/set and get like 2 conditioners and 2 leave-in instead of all 4 products...? I don’t need to re-order all four products. I don’t want the shampoo at all and I have a good amount of gel left along with the nice-size mango gel sample they gave me... Curl Mix are you reading this? Buying individual products is too expensive with shipping. Make customizable sets of any 4 products and free shipping with any set of 4 or more!

I tried both the avocado and jojoba in the moisturizers and gels and it did the exact same thing to me. My hair went from BSL to the middle of my ears. Smh I wanted to like them.

I think that SM leave in may have cause that, it may not be good to pair with that. I think u should try it again alone just to make sure that wasn't it. Still gorgeous tho! 👍🏽
Yeah, I have that same SM leave-in, and while it's really good, it does flake after I take my hair down out of twists the next morning.
I think you should use just the products they sent you together, but your hair is beautiful, the amount of product used is your choice, I would give it another try.
I don’t like the how the pieces are all over the places either. It’s beautiful after you used the blow dryer. If it flakes that’s bad, awww I wanted to try it. Now I’m scared too.

I wonder if the unclumped (piecey) curls have something to do with the repairing ingredients. When I don't need protein my hair acts like this as well. Low porosity struggles 🤦🏽♀️. Thanks for sharing though doll.

i dont think this wash and go turned out bad at all but yea i seen you have better results. i love the definition it gave you but the shrinkage is real with this gel. i was thinking about trying curl mix gels but i dont think i want to anymore because my shrinkage is already real with my type 4 hair so i definitely dont need anymore.

Put pomade on the hair before applying the gel to prevent flaking.

Your hair is beautiful and I love your curls! I actually stumbled across this video searching to see if someone mixed different products from this brand... ie. Lavendar and lemon... etc.
Clearly, this was not for me as I LOVE this product. Its light, smells good, hydrates well and makes my curls pop. My curls are tighter than yours in some areas and frizzy/loose in others. There was a mom and daughter youtube channel that had a process for refreshing a wash and go for the next day with this this product that really helped my routine!
I noticed this product review was from a bit ago. My purchase (May 2022) came with a guide for how to use the product (down to the number of pumps per hair type and the process for sectioning/moisture levels needed/finger detangling, etc). It does not seem that you used their technique. I also agree with some of the comments that certain products do not go well together. Since you have the product... If you're willing to try it again, maybe exclusively using this line would help?

I washed this video and another video before trying the product myself. The product flaked up in my hair doing a overnight twist out. I didn’t even use a lot of the product and I used the LOC method. Using there moisturizer as my C. I’ve never had this issue with other products. I don’t think I’ll be using their moisturizer anymore. I’ve used moisturizer and flaxseed from All Natural, no flake. I have 4C hair but I’m unsure if that makes a difference. But I’m upset I’m walking around with freaking flakes in my hair. That’s definitely after it dried!

Repair means protein so I won’t be getting the red, because I’m protein sensitive but the green one I’ll try.

Evette Walker 8 hours bc I’m about to go wash it out. I had to add a lot for my hair and it caused too many flakes. If your curls aren’t as tight as mine you should be fine!

Hi, I looked over most of their website after I ordered the products last night; very informative. I decided too look on CZcams to see if anyone with hair similar to mine tried, and came across your video. Their products don't pare with other products and must be used in the shower for continuous water & using less product. It reminded me of how mine was done at the Devachan Salon in NY. Put product on then spray more water (plenty) on raking and squeezing the product in, creating a squishy soapy sound, then add more water if needed. Also they say depending on hair type and what you're going for, you may need their avocado moisturizer that pares with it. The CEO and Co-founder of Curlmix do a live demo every Wednesday, which I watched for the 1st time yesterday and her hair came out nice and it look like she may have type 4c hair. You should get a different result using it as instructed. In all fairness, when doing reviews, the products should be used as instructed. Maybe consider revisiting the product again using it the way she instructs. It would be nice to see. By the way, your hair still looked nice, but I agree with you about your results. God Bless!

Really did use almost half the bottle with another product plus wrapped it and blow dried it. Not really an accurate review. Your hair will flake with that much product.

It’s pretty. I agree that those small bottles aren’t gonna do it for those of us with thick hair that wash and go weekly. They need bigger bottles.
First. I would like to say "Hello and I love your videos". I tried this product and didn't care for it. This product is very specific as to how you apply it. Using too much will cause flaking or residue and major shrinkage. My hair didn't like it at all! I have barely used bottles and I'm mad about it. I tend to apply more product if my curls aren't popping whereas this product pops as it dries so apply too much can result in residue. Also hair must be soaking wet. I didn't like it. I don't like to have to think so much to use a product.

It's still looks nice but I think your curls some how looked tighter together...let us know if you get the same amount of days out of this wash and go

Hm, it looks like made your hair shrink up a lot. I got a similar result with my wash and go today with cantu custard paired with the curl activator and my curls were all separated too but its banded right now so I don't think I'll hate my wash and go once I take it out the bands. I just need a bomb AFFORDABLE wash and go combo that doesn't flake lol.
