  • Testing out ABS pipe on the 3-point Grader blade plowing gravel Driveway. Best solution I've found thus far for plowing my driveway with my setup. As you can see, and I explain in the end of video the snow condition (Wet and Heavy) is making it worse than it should be. So I believe. I think if it was colder (below 32) it would work much better. Lately seems that we can't get it to drop under 34-32 degrees resulting in very packing snow. Anyways, hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching. Hopefully This helps someone.

Nice job, did the same thing 20years ago. Took 3"dia pipe, what l had laying around, welded some tabs to line up with cutting edge mounting holes. Larger dia really rolls over without gouging. Quick hint, on your first plowing, push that snow pretty far away from driveway and lot area, just in case you get another successive heavy snow fall. Those previous snow banks get rock hard in certain conditions. Haven't plowed in a couple of winters, miss it, probably the most fun on a tractor 😂

Lol we did almost the exact same thing on our snowplow we have on our skid steer and it doesn't hardly push any rock at all

Nice! I have since used it on (non wet and heavy snow) and it works great.

Is it a Camera trick or am I seeing things but it sure looks like your tires are mounted backwards or at least they were mounted on the wrong sides.

No trick. They're 100% mounted backwards. Not sure why. My grandpa rebuilt this tractor from almost ground up after it burned up in a barn fire. And not sure if he never realized or he did it for a reason..I just plan on correcting when I replace. But I'm also confused the rear tires are 12-16.5NHS but the manual doesn't mention that size. But I do know the rears are factory because one tire is still burnt 1/2 way round. Kubota gave me no answers.

@@StreamOutdoors they’re probably on that way when plowing in reverse better traction

How did the pipe hold as far as wearing the the pipe out or flat spots i seen hdpe pipe is supposed to be good as well

Wear is fine, it's more keeping it to stay on for prolonged periods of time. I seen where someone cut strips of a horse mat. Then bolted that down in place of the cutting edge. Seemed to work good, just not sure how much time I want to invest.

How did you cut the groove in the ABS pipe?

I set the depth on my circular saw (1/4" or so) and ripped it down. Then used a rubber mallet to seat it down the blade.

I run my blade backwards because it’s stuck that way, but that’s how I found out how well it workes on a frozen gravel driveway and over lawn. 🤠

I drive forward with blade backwards. It glides over stuff good.
