    You're a wise and generous man Steven. You might just have the quickest Classic Reborn in the world at the moment! Be great to see how it goes and then go back to your Meteor and see what that's like. Wishing you good health and weather 👍

    Thanks for the heads up Steven!, still looking for a cheap twin shock drum brake rolling chassis with V5 for a sensible price! 70/80s 250cc trail bike would be ideal 😁👍
    Im buying a cam as soon as back in stock at Hitchcocks,
    Im with you on the mid range torque to be had from these engines once released and will make them brilliant on country roads with steep climbs 😁👍

    Subscribed back. Look forward to how you get on with the campaign.
    I got dna filter n plate, de cat pipe and red rooster exhaust silencer, but no, fuel x literally. So, think I get that fitted in next month or so. Then when next service due (6k miles) get cam done.
    I know Ian (Tiger Ness) de did a video on the cam, and throughly happy with it.😊
    As you say, I would appreciate the extra torque also.😊
    Best wishes.

    Having just watched volcanic browns video on the performance of this bike I wouldn't be using that dealers again, from what he's said they can't have used the crank locking tool when swapping out the cam.

    • @TheNorfolkThunderbolt
      @TheNorfolkThunderbolt  Před 14 dny

      Yes, I suspect that this is the case. I had not used this workshop before as it is relatively new to the area. Needless to say I won’t be using them again, and I will be taking up the issue with them. Normally the work would have been done in my own garage under my own steam, but as you know I haven’t been well and had to farm the job out. In future, if I am not well, the jobs will just have to wait as I now have zero confidence in any local workshop…

      @@TheNorfolkThunderbolt I'll be upfront with you Steve & tell you that I work for Haywards of Cambridge, we generally discourage the odd customer who suggests fitting performance cams to modern Enfields as we genuinly don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. To be honest so far only a couple of customers have suggested it on 411 Himmy's, one of the possible reasons your bill was cheaper than expected could be becuase they didn't take the engine cover off to lock the crank ? This would have saved time & effort but is unacceptable if you supplied the neccesary tools to do the job, don't get me wrong Steve I'm not trying to stick the knife in but this is the main reason I work on my own bikes at home. I'm lucky enough to have a home workshop with a brace of Hydraulic bike ramps & my own engineering machinery for making those hard to find parts for my 1930's BSA's & other bikes.

      @@gvinrad no offence taken. I do these little projects for my own amusement and also to see if they make any useful difference. This time was an unusual occurrence as I was not able to complete the sequence myself because of ill health. I originally fitted the free flow exhaust to my Meteor for purely aesthetic reasons as I already had the same fitted to my Bullet. Then I thought, what if I go the whole hog and see what happens if I fit all the goodies? Well, apparently the parts certainly work better if the damn workshop does the actual work you paid them to do! There are many tuning options that I certainly wouldn’t recommend, especially if you don’t have any experience of doing so. In this particular case, I checked with Hitchcock’s on each item used and quizzed them about each in turn. As for being “worth the squeeze”, that was not a factor in this case, as I wanted to see how well they performed together in concert. Anyway, it was a hobby project and it’s now done and dusted. I do agree that from the point of view of cost, it certainly isn’t a bargain, but it was never about that in this case.

    Nice video, but here in the states speed limits and traffic speeds are different. After boosting toque numbers, is it possible to remove the speed limiter/governor? I’ve never heard anyone discuss how that’s done.

    • @TheNorfolkThunderbolt
      @TheNorfolkThunderbolt  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Allegedly you can get rid of the speed limiter by fitting the Hunter’s throttle body/ECU unit. I don’t yet know how reliable this information is. I may revisit this in a future video.

    Hi Steve. I know you know Volcanic Brown, so I wonder if you could fill me in on what has happened to his channel? It seems to have vanished. I remember a few weeks back he had a bit of a wobble about taking it all down, but he seemed to reconsider that, but now all his stuff is unavailable. If you could enlighten me about what has gone on, I would be very grateful. Cheers and I am right now going to view this cam video. I have the exact same bike as you, but mine is brand new and standard. Only done 220 miles so far.

    • @TheNorfolkThunderbolt
      @TheNorfolkThunderbolt  Před 5 měsíci +3

      I’ve just spoken with Volcanic Brown, and he has said that after a big argument with CZcams, he has decided to call it a day. But he’s asked me to convey his thanks to all the people who subscribed to his channel and wishes them all the best for the future . As for bike modifications, I always recommend that you complete the run in process and add a few miles for good measure just to ensure you have loosened everything up adequately before tuning is carried out. Hope this helps.
