    Seeing the fabulous detail design and manufacture of this engine makes it even more amazing that they produce a complete motorcycle for under £4000 in the case of the HNTR.
    Great to see inside yours but I think I'll leave mine in one piece until I need to do some work on it.
    Thank you for such a great video series

      Thanks very much, it's a lovely machine. Some have done over 50 thousand km in India with no work needed. Usually older bikes would suffer once the carbs and ignition started to give trouble before the actual engine parts did. These have got super reliable fuel injectors and throttle bodies that hopefully last a long time

    Great video Glyn,
    Since the engines now in bits, it’s a great time to fit a performance camshaft. Trust me you won’t regretted doing it 👍😁

      Thanks Ian, it's really tempting, I'm keeping an eye out in case they come back in stock but otherwise will go back and do it. It's also a curse because there's the Meteor too and if I do one without the other it might feel like one is faulty! Might check now 😊

      Another interesting video Glynn, on your next video can you go into detail when you refit the clutch case, I've heard it can be a bit fiddly and some have struggled with it, cheers

    • @GlynOC
      @GlynOC  Před 4 měsíci

      Will do, I can't see why it would be much trouble, although I can see the clutch drive is geared and the top arm would spin when the case is reattached and might end up in the wrong place. I've taken the arm off anyway so that won't be a problem but if you didn't I can see that would be very frustrating@@hunterrider349

    The engine is so interesting when you was stripping it down. Glad you didn’t pop your back, lifting it onto bench.

      It's a lovely little machine in there. I can't believe how heavy it is, I'd wager it's as much or more than your Honda Twin. I think if the oil had still been in it that would have been too much!! It was pretty much at the limit of what I could lift, not sure how to get it back down again, a contraption of sorts might be in order👍

      @GlynOC  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thanks Bruce, I was ok but that was pretty much the limit I think, I might need some help to get it back down to floor level, it's incredibly heavy. I might even wait till it's in the frame before I put the covers back on to save a couple of kg! I bet you picked yours up with one hand 😊

    Glyn, first off I nearly had a heart attack when you rocked the engine and it started to fall forward to the edge of the bench. Next, you are scraping that crap with your fingernail through a busted nitrile glove.. and I'm thinking "that looks like they rode it over farm land, so it's probably cow shit!". When I need to deep clean an engine I have always resorted to Turpentine and a fiber scrubbing brush. I have been known to reach for a tooth brush :-(

    • @GlynOC
      @GlynOC  Před 4 měsíci +1

      haha so did I ❤️ I'm not sure what it was but it's gone now after I used a new magic brush, I did even bring a toothbrush from home but it didn't touch it (I didn't take it back home). I've had my vaccine 💉

    Yeah mate not very convenient especially when you already got the motor out 😂 evening Glyn a very informative vid mate the neutral light switch is sooo simple and that motor came apart without drama impressed with all the casing bolts being the same size and and of great quality, is that a lidle parkside screw driver haven’t seen them over here yet but I want one. I love these motors the centre piece of the bike as it should be, cheers Glyn ….. Pete🇫🇷

      Hi Pete, I knew it was there but was just in denial I think 👍 Yes, it's the Parkside Electric Socket Wrench with a 1/4 or 3/8 inch drive on the end, it'll come round again soon I'm sure. I haven't used it much but was perfect for this and is very strong too 💪

    Question for you Glyn please. As I have mine apart. Clutch side bottom right hand corner a hole you put your finger on a few times. Is there a 'o' ring on that oil gallery. Or did it do as mine did and stuck to the side casing. I found it floating about in the side casing and it fits perfectly on the hole. Looks like it goes to the drain bung possibly.

    • @GlynOC
      @GlynOC  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi David, yes there is and it's still on the engine case. I believe that runs from the oil pickup in the engine into the oil filter and is probably quite important as it seals the intake to the filter. I don't think it would be engine shaggingly bad as any leak there would suck up oil anyway that was in the clutch side case. It's still in bits so let me know if you want me to look at anything👍

    • @davidrawlings3460
      @davidrawlings3460 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @GlynOC thanks for looking taking my time as I am still ill but I am slowly doing the camshaft up grade. The side casing came of so easily and it wasn't until I looked into the side casing I saw this random 'o' ring. Had a good look and it could really only go there but I thought I would ask to be sure. Hitchcocks engine part diagram doesn't see to show it. The problem on the videos I have watched that oil has shiny oil on it and I can't make out an "o" ring or not. I am fitting Hitchcocks stainless bolt kit,it's not expensive really. There bolts on my side casing were quite loose so thinking they'll be ok in stead of the originals. Your video is great and I wished I had watched it a day earlier 😆

    • @davidrawlings3460
      @davidrawlings3460 Před 4 měsíci

      The clutch lever looks interesting as its has a tooth drive into the clutch basket. And looking at the brake pedal assembly I have to take off haven't seen the brake light switch yet either lol

    • @GlynOC
      @GlynOC  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@davidrawlings3460What a coincidence! The only other thing I've seen to be wary of is there's a small gasket above that area separate from the main one and I assume it would be easy to accidentally leave that in or out or maybe accidentally fit two and much up the spacing 🙏

    So, Glyn. Would a 650 Royal Enfield engine fit in the 350 frame? Also, are you going to fit a performance cam whilst you have the engine apart? You'll never get a better opportunity, mate. 😊

    • @GlynOC
      @GlynOC  Před 4 měsíci

    Using Screwdrivers to get cover's off is a definite NO NO 👎
    Always use a soft or plastic hammer,
    As a persuader.
    I don't care if they've put apparent gaps to put Screwdrivers,
    You Still Risk damaging the edges 👎
