As it is my 250th episode, I wanted to set myself a challenge for the milestone. I rummaged through my drawers full of potential stock and up popped this dilapidated Corgi Juniors Ferrari 308 GTS, you know, the Magnum P.I. Ferrari. It was muddy so it was looking very likely the body would need attention to see to any corrosion. It was missing a wheel as a result of this and it proved that the rear axle had totally disintegrated. The black plastic section was missing the steering wheel, while the windshield had a huge crack through it. I didn't have a replacement or donor model in stock, so I decided to just go with it and try and get that windshield as good as I possibly could using all my tried and tested methods.
I bought some outstanding Ferrari five-spokes of the era from Diecast Details to replace the written off Corgi wheels and simply set off to see where I ended up.
The real Ferrari 308 was first unveiled in 1975 as a berlinetta. It was a two-seater, mid-engined V8 powered machine that proved popular enough in its Spyder (GTS) guise following its introduction in 1977 that it became the star car of the hit TV series Magnum P.I. in 1980. A different 308 GTS was used for each season through until the eighth and final in 1988. Each however retained the same look and same licence plate of ROBIN 1. The 308 was developed across ten years of production until it was replaced by the Ferrari 328 in 1985.

Beautiful job!!! 😍 The challenge wasn't match to your skill! You're a true restoration Master!
The result is great and does honor to this icon! 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍💯
Many congrats on getting to 250 videos! Well done mate..
Great job 👏 the 308 is probably my favorite Ferrari. I grew up watching Magnum P.I. so this car always has a special place in my heart. Keep'em coming 👍
Congratulations on 250 Episodes! The car looks fantastic and you put in a lot of work to get looking so nice. Thanks for sharing this.
One of my favorite Ferraris.
It looks fantastic! The windshield looks pretty good.
Maybe someday you'll find a replacement.
Great job 👍🏻
Nice one Jason.
Turned out really well.
Looks sooo good now, especially with the extra details. Congrats on your 250th episode. Keep er lit ya boy ye
Congrats on 250! Nice project...
Great trim work on this one
LOOKS AMAZING
Incredible job! Beautiful!
Nice restoration, details and paint job 👌 👍
wow, what a wreck. XD that's hawaiian sun doing it's thing I guess.
seriously, great work! and who would thought they had such a long racing career... anyway, looks proper.
it's a rather rare casting I think. I haven't seen one before, and Corgi isn't rare here in germany. I wonder if the window insert from a Matchbox 328 would have fitted? it might be too small. surely the SIKU 328 is bigger than the Corgi. time to put them together and do a comparison, methinks.
Another beautiful car again my friend you keep up the good work have a good weekend and God bless
Congratulations on 250 episodes. One of my favourite TV cars ever. Wonderful customization Jason, have you ever tried to use a windscreen from a different model car to replace damaged ones. In the real world I recall an episode of Wheeler Dealers where they had to restore an American classic car and there was a company that keeps a huge supply of screens from more modern cars that could be cut to fit the rarer classics.
I have done for customs in the past, like the window-less Triumph TR6. Thought it best to wait for a chance to get a properly fitting replacement for this one. They are plentiful so won’t be long before a good one rocks up!
Great work. Love the wheels
Awesome job!
Excellent job!!!👍👍👍😁😁😁
I can hear Higgins yelling!
Born in 1980 i can tell you i had that car . ❤
A triumph....well, obviously a Ferrari!
I have one of these in my to do pile, also with a broken windscreen
The connected vent on the engine cover doesn’t denote a year range, it denotes a US spec car. Additional cooling for US only catalytic converter. Anorak mode over 😂
Useful to know, thanks for that!
Molto piu bello!❤
What for episode 300 maybe a white Miami vice testarossa
Maybe!
She’s beautiful
i'd love to see your car collection
