  • Join us at glorious Wentworth Woodhouse in its heyday in the 1900s, as we take a look at the life of our young Second Footman , Oscar John Snelling, for the third in our series, 'Lives in Service'.
    We follow the man the Family and Staff called "John" in his weekly routine and see through his eyes one of the most extraordinary events that took place at Wentworth Woodhouse: the flight in 1910 of an early Bleriot aeroplane from the very lawns of Wentworth Woodhouse itself!

    Very interesting. You’re actor, I’m sure would have had his hair greased and dressed, as in the photo at the beginning of the film,not a criticism just an observation. A well told story. Thanks Wentworth Woodhouse.

      Yes, the hair would have been dressed and probably greased back in the day. We're glad that you liked the video and the way we've put the story across.
