- Made in 1903. Pretty sure it had a color case finish back in the day. I want to get a long range tang sight for it, like a Montana Vintage Arms Soule Sight. A # 103 Long Range Buffalo, or the Soule XLR. I'm gonna have to load my own rounds.

Whether safe or not ,I wouldn’t shoot buffalo bore through that rifle
cool. I will load my own. thanks. lol
I can’t believe the cat doesn’t seem to mind the noise.
He hangs out with me a lot!
The ol' Marlins are prettier than the Winchester.
Such gorgeous guns, Friend!!
Thank you very much! I get lucky! maybe subscribe so you don't miss any. Some of the best are yet to come!
Very nice 👍
Thank you, sir!
Do you suppose the long barrel is slowing them down? I saw your 20" Winchester 94 getting 1947 fps.
Slug the bore. Mine made in 1894 was .385. Bore diameter in 38-55 varied wildly in those days.
Yeah, I need to. Thanks.
My Winchester 1895 30-40 krag has an oversized bore too.
@@FingerAngle , I also have 3 factory original Marlin Ballards in 38-55 in exceptional condition from the mid 1880s with bores .381 to .383 and a ‘94 Winchester at .379 (made in 1923). I feel it’s a must to slug the barrel of any antique gun you plan to shoot to properly size the bullets and figure on doing your own reloading. I only use cast bullets and Pyrodex RS powder on the older ones not intended for smokeless powder.
@@davidgardner863 I've been buying loading equipment, and supplies. I have several presses now. I even loaded some BP 12 gauge for my Winchester 93. That's the only thing I've loaded for so far.
