Hey man. Thank you very much for the video. It helped me setup my A7Siii as my webcam and the bit about the in camera settings worked as well. Odd is that I can't find the imaging edge software on my mac, but it still works so it doesn't matter. Cheers dude. 🤙🏾
so ive tried downloading this for my new a7iv, I install it and do the whole process, after its “installed” it says to restart the computer, so I do. but when my computer wakes up and restarts again, the application doesn’t show up anywhere. is there any reason for this? is the download corrupted? is anyone else having any issue with the a7iv download? I’ve tried looking for it in applications, and it doesn’t show up. any tips?
@@homebuyerlab I figured it out. It seems that this link isn’t up to date, I went to Sonys official page, like the refreshed versions and did the same process, and it worked. They probably just updated their page because it worked for me now

How do you simultaneously power the camera while using it as a webcam? Mine doesn't charge the camera simultaneously with the USB C cable. Is there a dummy battery made by Sony? I see tons of third party options.
Rather late, but in case there are others like me still crappling this issue, this is from the user manual: Notes on USB terminals You can use either the USB Type-C terminal or the Multi/ Micro USB Terminal for supplying power, charging the battery, and USB communications. However, you cannot conduct these operations with both terminals simultaneously. • The battery charging time does not change according to the terminal you use. • You can use accessories for the Multi/Micro USB Terminal, such as a remote commander (sold separately), while supplying power or performing PC Remote shooting using the USB Type-C terminal.

Has anyone figured out a way to improve the latency, I would get a solid second if not more of delay and it just ruin the whole experience when you see my reactions so late.
Looks like it does not work on the new Macbook M1. At least I tried to install the program 10 times but it just does not show up -.-

Can you use the USB C cable to do the same? or does it have to use the multi port.. impossible to find information.

The blackmagic 3G capture card is working the best for me. Not perfect, but way less stutters.
Are stutters a Sony issue?
your a7iv doesn't need the app. Just go to your usb settings and select streaming. Your computer will automatically recognize the camera as a webcam

It works... but it feels jittery like its 20fps and looks more like 1080p than 4k. Anyone else having this issue?
