Thanks for the video- I can confirm the Boardroom analogy. I do Commercial AV Design Engineering and I generally have to steer weekly design coordination calls with C-Level stakeholders and other leading contractors. Upgrading my camera noticeably changed the way I was perceived on these calls as I am from a younger generation and it can be difficult for people to view someone significantly younger as a point of authority or an expert when there is a lot of money on the line.

Great video. I didn't have the cable that came with the A7iv and used an off brand USB-C to USB-C cable and it worked. I like that I can skip connecting to an adapter for on the go events.
You are not limited to using the cable that the camera came with.

Thank you, my brother, for the tutorial. I really enjoyed the suggestion of streaming in 720P 30FPS. I would've thought 1080P 30/60 would be the way to go. Can't wait to check out the next video.

I have a question, I don't know if you can help me? I have a sony a7iv. on the dial it has MP Auto 123 . when I memorize functions in 1 or 2 or 3 I can't change (f) iris. only in M that I can change.

Great video, thanks! For the a7IV - does the computer USB connection also provide power to the camera rather than draining the internal battery for longer sessions (e.g., several hours)? I also wonder about the possibility of using a longer USB cable because a new desktop computer I plan to use will be at a greater distance than the factory cable's length.
Did you ever find the answer to this? I have mine all connected up and message popped up " Battery Exhausted" and turned off. I though that having it connected meant it would be charged/powered by the cable.
What about the mic, can you share what the mic set up you recommend for this combo?

Love this. I have an A6400 and live stream in 1080 with restream via Ecamm. How can I improve my stream quality?
Well there are a few ways of doing this.
1-Upgrade you internet to the fastest package
2-Use something like an Atem mini to do your encoding for you before you send out the broadcast
3-Invest in a really good computer that can handle higher picture quality.

I'm teaching online, and I need an excellent mirrorless camera. Will Sony A7 IV overheat if I stream for 5 hours straight at 1080p / 60 fps? Will it survive for 10 years if I stream for 5 hours daily?
I couldn't figure out why mine wasn't working until you pointed out using the official cable--thanks! I was even using a good USB 3 cable so it must be really picky

The live video seemed choppy in your tutorial. Was that just because of the frame rate of your render or is it choppy like that live?
Is choppy. To have 1080 60 and a smooth image I prefer a hdmi capture card or USB.
I am using it but for long video sessions (many hours) i am still looking for a way to power the camera with AC power or charge the battery while in use because swapping batteries during a live session won't work. Do you have any recommendations that solve this problem?

Hello, wanted to ask you a question. I use my Sony a7 iv as a webcam for teams meetings and it turns off in about 25-30 minutes timeframe. What can I do to avoid that?
In other videos, I have heard that you can use a dummy battery ( a battery that you put in that's attached to an ac adapter and plugs into the wall ). Also when doing so, you can turn off USB Power Supply. I am going to give that a try to see if that works.

@@Kabelman For me, I think so! I bought the power adapter with the dummy battery. Also turned off USB Power Supply in the USB menu settings. I have yet to record with it, but I left it on as a webcam for over an hour with no heating issues AT ALL - which is why I think it was powering down.
@@ErichMillerTV thanks for the reply, how can I see that it's due to overheating? At 19 degrees room temperature I would assume that to be no issue. But I should maybe try.
@@Kabelman I never took the temperature of it but the body was very hot to the touch using battery only and having USB Power Supply enabled. Tested a couple more times with the same result.

had to totaly reset initialize my camera, to get it to work, it was always greyed out. it kept saying what the problem was, but it was not. now ill start changing settings, and it will quit working. i hate this, about Sony Cameras. Best experience, turn usb power off, use a dummy battery, and leave the screen open, dont dual record unless you want a Crop if you select 1080p 60. Far easier to just use a capture card, in the end, and you can do 4K 60 if you buy the right one. any usb, is going to be 4K 30, none of them do 4K 60. buy the avermedia live gamer 4K Pcie Card or the Thunderbolt version, same device.
My a7iv battery dies extremely quick while streaming, any idea why or anybody else have this issue?
Hi, I'm using Sony A7iv as a webcam for zoom. I setting in Camera:
- Shutdown Auto Turning off
- Livestreaming USB
But the Sony auto shutdown after 10 minutes in zoom. How can fix this?
Are you able to use the camera as a microphone/input device. I selected it in Zoom but don't get any audio in from the camera. I do see the audio monitors on the camera active.
I figured it out. Needed to use a USB C cable to plug directly into my computer. The USB A to USB C cable provided by Sony didn't work.
@@MicahBreitenstein I bought Rode Caster Pro II to my equipment. :D So that I can monitor my voice for Zoom as well for video recording.
I dont see "select when connect" I only have PC remote which is greyed out and I cant change it. I have gone through literally every menu trying to figure this out. Such bs Sony menus

My A7C has this option “usb streaming”, but my $4k A7S3 that I just unboxed doesn’t?!
If I know correctly, Usb streaming without software is only for sony A7 IV. For other high end Sony cameras you need to download software to use it as webcam. Software name (Imaging Edge Webcam, which can be found from Sony's website.
@@Tikku. it was added to the A7C in the December software. Just wondering why it wasn’t added to A7S3

@@shrimpinpat complete overkill lol…. I use the A7C using Capture card, because 1080/60 is the only way to go for webcam streaming.
Just some feedback, I'd slow down your intro. Learned that in public speaking classes. Slow down the speaking.
