  • The people of rural Kenya have spoken of the night runners for generations. They’re said to be villagers possessed by a demonic spirit which compels them to scare and terrorise their neighbours at night.
But no one really knows who the night runners are or what motivates them. For BBC Africa Eye, reporter Tom Odula investigates the enigma of the night runners, shining fresh light on the reality behind the myths, and revealing exclusive footage of night runners in action. Please be aware that there are disturbing images in this piece.

Growing up as a kid, terrorized of the dark/night because of some fools sadistic need to feel powerful is sickening.

~You will spot them (with their burning pots) running across the other ridge and no fence or any obstacle can block them
~They ride dogs, cats and other animals
~You have to eat cold food and wear clothes inside out if you want to catch them

I personally think BBC Africa is doing the job not many other news companies are willing to do, actually showing what is going in Africa.

The testament of the medical doctor sheds more light. I hope BBC will investigate this more to solve this problem. Some cultures are best left in the archives especially when they are both addictive and a threat to life.
