    And we're back for another on-site video! I'm working on a 2012 (I think) Lincoln Navigator. The biggest challenge was just the size of the vehicle, the actual work done here is not that difficult.
    In this video, you're going to learn:
    - The tools and products I use
    - My process on cleaning dirty cars
    - See how it is to work at a customers' location
    - And much more...
    Enjoy!

    For people who don’t have time or simply don’t feel like doing it themselves, $220 is reasonable, and 90% of the time will return for the same service. I live in Ca and most customers who get services are well off and would rather make more money with their time than wash their filthy cars. Broke people always complain about price 😂

      Rich people are stupid with cars poor people are more wiser. A self-carwash or drive thru and 10$ would give the same results he did and all they would have to do is wax it.....

      well here in Dallas,TX they think is expensive charging $90 for a complete interior. or $45 handwash a pick up truck. or $120 wash & tires + complete interior.

    Great job! I just wrapped up detailing my 03 Lincoln Navigator. I had not cleaned it in a few weeks and I just got it back from getting the transmission rebuilt. I spent 2+ hours last night just washing and cleaning the exterior. Using my SunJoe SPX 3000 power washer really helped. I used Meguires Quik Wax this morning to finish up the exterior. And yeah, I got the ladder out to get the roof cleaned up pretty good.
    Just spent the last couple hours cleaning and vacuuming the interior. I really got to go back and do a detailed clay bar and wax. It’s driving very good and looking good too now.
    I have other cars that are so much easier and quicker to do a full detail. These large SUV’s take 2-3 times longer. So, it’s my least favorite to detail.
    Anyways,
    Great video and God bless!

    Whoever says that price is too high, they don't know the amount of labor and time that goes into the process. The claying process itself takes a lot of time. For the size of that vehicle that's a very solid price. I'm curious, is it a mobile detailing thing or something but why no rinse before wash?

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  Pƙed 6 lety +6

    Just a heads up with the bit where you cleaned the grill, in my very short experience (only as an enthusiast) you wrap the microfibre around either end of one of my detailing brushes, so I don't need to use my fingers, and run it through that way. Of course the microfibre towel is soaked in whichever car soap I am using and/or APC. It works, again no or minimises the scratches :)
    Great content as always. And on my end, always learning new techniques. Cheers!

    1. What do you personally use successfully to strip old wax off cars? I've heard so many arguments saying clay bars are the best vs dish soap vs Chemical Guys Clean Slate. So much information out there makes it confusing. 2. If you use ONR rinseless wash and wax, do you have to strip the wax before each time you resuse this product?

    Hey Oscar, great video! Got a question, kind of a weird one. What do you do if you have to use the bathroom and you're out on a call? Is it okay to ask if you can use the client's bathroom? What if there's no readily accessible bathroom? Just something that I've been contemplating.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  Pƙed 6 lety +1

      That's a huge problem for detailers. I am very cautious of how much water I drink. Before I leave to the job, I use the restroom to empty the tank and won't drink/eat anything until the first hour. Then I slowly drink as needed without really drinking excess water. Towards the end is when I start to drink more water since I'm 1 or 2 hours before leaving.
      But yeah, you gotta manage it. I don't ask customers to use their restroom. It's not uncommon to not wait 7 hours to use the restroom

    I own my own detailing business. Benny's Xtreme Detailing find it on FB. You said you charged 220 for wash and a wax. Could you break down each service to help me understand how you got to that price. I would charge 180 for a full detail with clay bar, chrome polishing. That price includes interior without shampooing. Am I charging too little?

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  Pƙed 6 lety +4

      The problem is not pricing, your problem is lack of leads per day and week. I have plenty of people tell me no, but because I have so many people reaching out to me, I still get plenty of people that tell me yes.
      That's the problem with 80% of detailers. It's hard to increase your price when you have 1 person contacting you every other day. If you have 4 people contacting you everyday, raising your rates and getting booked out is much easier.
      Also, online reviews are HUGE!
