I'm a former armed security guard as well as a CCW permit holder for the past 15+ years. The one rule I always follow when I carry my handgun is to ONLY draw it if my life is in jeopardy. This is even after I have exhausted every other less lethal tool beforehand, I am carrying at the time. The moment I start carrying my firearm it stays in its holster until I take off at the end of the day. I'm always looking for a method of leaving the threatening situation.
One cool thing about FL, idk about other states, is that while you’re in your car, it’s considered an extension of your home. Meaning the same castle doctrine rules apply and are extended to your vehicle while traveling.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to leave your gun in your car. Most stolen guns are stolen from cars. Most people who break into to cars are targeting guns. Many gangs choose to do car mass break ins at workplaces where they know the employees are prohibited from carrying in the building, and will likely leave guns in the car. It’s less risk to just keep it on you honestly
The biggest thing about CC is learning and understanding the laws and what is considered self defense and what’s involved after also, training in this is so important. It’s not just at the range. Deadly force triangle. 1. Capability 2. Opportunity 3. Intent, those 3 things have to be proven in court and if any one of those things aren’t proven you will be convicted.
I would really appreciate you doing a video about reputable concealed carry insurance companies. I’m in California and uscca seems to be the go to for most but I would be interested in learning about other, and possibly better, options. Thanks and I always appreciate your videos

I don’t understand this law because George Zimmerman followed Trayvon martin through a neighborhood because he thought he looked suspicious and pursued him even after a 911 operator told him not to follow him and a fight broke out because he chased the boy down and once the boy started getting the upper hand on him he shoots and kills him and gets away with it using stand your ground law which is ridiculous because he started the entire situation so I’m confused on stand your ground.

I used to have CCW Safe as my self-defense insurance, but I switched to AOR. I honestly believe it’s the best plan out there. No middleman information can get in a way where that client information is subject to being subpoenaed in court. Dealing with an attorney directly protects your client information a lot better.. just saying
The problem is, not only is “stand your ground “ interpreted differently in different states, it also varies between jurisdictions, depending on the prosecutor.

Castle Doctrine is another law that a lot of people misinterprete it.
You do not have an attorney-client privilege with the USCCA or its insurance underwriter, in the event of an incident, and they can require you to communicate sensitive information with them that can then be discovered by the prosecution.

Most of these incidents end with a plea deal. By rule, USCCA doesn’t have to do anything to help you even if you didn’t take the plea for the initial big charge. Plus they will then slander your name in and use you for promotional materials. Case in point, Kayla Giles. Look that up and see if it doesn’t make your skin crawl. Attorneys on Retainer have been getting my money and will continue to do so.
