It seems like easy cake replacing but in order to replace you have to remove the alternator and move parts aside in order to replace the regulator in my VW Jetta 1.8t is easier you don't need to pull down the whole alternator in order to replace the regulator the back cover area doesn't exist so there is no cover to protect the regulator just unscrew replace and voila. even though great video tomorrow I'll be doing a 2003 honda civic .!
Very instructive video. I have a problem with my alternator. At Auto zone the test is good. It must be the voltage regulator not delivering enough voltage to charge my battery.
Hi, I serviced the alternator for an Acura RDX 2007 and after the fix now the alternator light does not come off. We deleted all error codes with the scanner but it keeps sending the. (check charging system warning) the battery and the alternator are charging correctly. ¿any guess what could be the cause?

THE T BONE STAKE IS THE RECTIFIER, AND THE THINK WITH THE ROUND PLUG ON IT.. IS THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR YOU CAN SEE THAT WHEN YOUR LOOKING AT THE BACK GOLD COUVERED CASE SIR.
THE LONG BOLT IS COMING FROM THE RECTIFIER , AND THE ROUND HOLE IS COMING FROM THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR

Can anyone please tell me why a voltage regulator costs the same if not more than a whole brand new alternator. Ive scoured every part site i can possibly find and the cheapest one is at autozone for $80 while a brand new one is $120? im ripping my hair out of frustration who are making these prices? Im about to go to the local scrap yards and start selling these things cuz im in the wrong business
It does show what title says but no audio makes it unclear which is the regulator. So still not that good. Just get a permanent marker n write v. Ref layout on th ow t itself to help us kno which part it is. Thanx

The half Moon shaped part should be the AC to DC converter,and the part with the heatsink should be the regulator.
