Jackson always surrounded himself with the best..Rosemary Butler's back up vocals ..the amazing David Lindley on slide..and of course his compositions..genius. RIP David..you are so missed.
David Lindely is a guitar god. His playing on all of Jackson's songs is pure genius.
Rosemary Butter one of the best back up vocalists ever!
What a song! There's nothing like live music. Get out there and support it, everybody!
Great singer and band . The lyrics blew me away. Everything about them was me. 65 i was 17, 69 i was 21 etc.
This song is why I became a musician and a singer songwriter... When I was 12 I found a bag in a park with this album in it... never heard something like it before... he is a GOD!
I can honestly say I've NEVER met a lady who didn't like Jackson Browne! "Late For the Sky" and "For Everyman" albums especially! David Lindley is his usual genius self, in this high energy video! His bands were always a "Who's Who" of great L.A. musicians, like Russ Kunkel on drums, who played with everybody!
anyone that likes Eagles should listen to Jackson Browne
In my top 5 songs of all time...a great album..!
The percussionist is Jody Linscott. What I love most is that because there was never a studio recording of this, every time you hear it, it is slightly different each time.
You're a lucky man. To have someone look at you the way she does. Great stuff. Thank you. I adore watching her react. So damn real!
Can't go wrong with Jackson Browne. :-)
Jackson Browne - The Load Out/Stay... A great song about the after concert wind down
+1 on this!
gotta do the live version though!
Pays to note Glen Frye and Jackson Brown were roommates in California before either of them broke out and wrote the Eagles song #Take it Easy ...
I think Jackson lived above Glen and Glen would hear him composing. Jackson was stuck on a verse for the song (I had taken it to 'Standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona' and Glen filled it in. "Such a fine sight to see. It's a girl my Lord in a flatbed Ford, slowin' down to take a look at me'". The song blew up for the Eagles.
@@757optim they also lived next to Linda rondstadt.
@@757optim Jackson handed the song to Glen. Glen added, "...in a flatbed Ford..." and made it a little more 'rockish'.
The best version of this song. Among all the reactors out there I haven't seen anyone react to this; and it's about time. Good choice.
Love the West Coast sound; Brown, Linda, the Eagles, Fleetwood, etc.
And the kings of the West Coast sound ... the Beach Boys
Always liked Jackson Browne!
Jackson Browne is great. I saw him live in Atlantic City at the Arena at the Golden Nugget casino. Great show. This was the encore and Bruce Springsteen joined him on stage. It was awesome.
"people need some reason to believe" ~Jackson Brown
This song stays with one as a special staple for ever!!!! Simply magical.
One song of particular beauty from Jackson Browne is Sky Blue and Black! Just stunning, both lyrically and musically!
This is a nice live performance of this song. I had forgotten how handsome Jackson was:) He was hugely popular in the 70s. thanks for the reaction and review!
I grew up feeling thrilled every time this song came on the radio. A super-duper-uber-ultra all-time classic! Never seen this vid guys! Thanks. That was great!
Fantastic performance. Love KNR show, they bring back old memories, the good ones. High school and lost loves are there. Thank you Mr. Jackson, thanks to KNR.
Really glad you did a 'live version'. Playing live always shows the abilities and capabilities of those performing. You can dig deep into the Jackson Browne catalog and will not find an end to the surprises. Check into some of his 'consciousness' raising tunes...Doctor My Eyes, Lives in The Balance.
Love, love this song and this is the first time I’ve ever seen the live version... wicked!
"Somebody's Baby" and this are favorites.
I love "Somebody's Baby", too... Probably my favourite & my introduction to Jackson Browne.
Wow, memories... Fast Times at Ridgemont High, lol, iconic movie, great cast.
SB is terrific. Definitely must do that one! He's done it in different formats, too. I like the studio as well as a keyboard solo performance.
fun fact Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's landmark debut album Texas Flood was recorded at Jackson Browne's home studio in L.A. I read it took only three days.
This was a cruising on the strip song or on the highway out to the cottage for the weekend back in the 70's. Keep kissing. awesome as always.
Being at that 16 yrs old age, just getting your driver license.
"The Pretender" and "Somebody's baby" are great jackson's songs.
Of the many reactions that Kelly has, I have noticed two distinct kinds of reaction from her over the past few months of watching your videos. The first set of reactions consist of familiarity and satisfaction; kind of like comfort food for the ears. I see this reaction whenever she is reacting to most modern day music (Slipknot, Soen, Nightwitch, Dream Theater, Epica...etc). Her head is usually bobbing to the rhythm of the music and her facial expressions are that of appreciation of the musicianship with a slight knowing smile indicating that she knows the general direction each piece of music will probably go. No real surprises this music is just her jam.
On the other hand, her second set of reactions, especially when it comes to older music, is often that of surprise, shock, laughter, joy and sometimes confusion. She has no idea where these songs are going musically and the journey is often very unexpected. This song and many others like Mr. Blue Sky, are perfect examples of a pure musical reaction.
Thanks for sharing and reacting to these wonderfully surprising songs.
Every great songwriter has a song about life on the road. Bob Seger has Turn The Page, but this song by Jackson Browne is the best one I have heard. Great selection guys.
Not every songwriter did a whole concept album of life on the road featuring all new original songs performed live in concerts, in soundchecks, on the tour bus, and in their motel rooms though.
Another great 70's song ! When you hear a great song you can just feel it !
Love your reaction !
I am about to watch it again :)
Cheers from down under \m/ \m/
this tour-one of the best concerts i've seen.
initially I thought this was the studio version being played over a live performance. It was so close to the original. Amazing performance.
Got me feeling nostalgic watching that.
Thanks
I know! The background singer who sings 'Running On' threw me off at first, he sounds almost exactly like Jackson Browne. That is one tight sounding band. Awesome performance.
He changed the lyrics in one of the last lines. He sang "I want to know who you are but I'm running behind." The original lyric on the album version is "I'd love to stick around but I'm running behind."
@@88wildcat I caught that too. Interesting variation.
A musician's musician... Jackson Browne. Total fun! Thanks for the reaction!
Jackson Browne being the "rock n' roller". LOL. Great find, don't think I've seen this live performance of this before. thanks for sharing.
Beautiful Jackson!
Our musical taste are so similar, wonderful channel. You two are awesome.
great couple
Can't do Jackson Browne without doing "The Pretender" and also can't do him without doing Linda Ronstadt. Linda is the best singer a lot of people are not aware of. Parkinson's has taken her voice now but she was an icon in the 70's & 80's.
There is a documentary about her called "the sound of my voice" coming out soon. September, I think.
@@garylindsey5174 Yes! Just saw that trailer!
@@allisonyoung4007 should be awesome
If you are from Texas, the Southwest or California ... you damned well know who Linda is the little girl with huge voice!
One of my favorite albums of all time.
Great song
Classic song by a fabulous musician try doctor my eyes, and somebody's baby both are excellent. 👍
Oh, YES! "Doctor, My Eyes" LOVE that song! :D
This is a song of introspection. That was what drew me to it back then.
Great song, great album.
Jackson Browne wrote and recorded a song called "these days" that Gregg Allman made famous, but the best version is from Gregg Allman all my friends,on which Jackson and Gregg sing it together. Worth the listen!
Beautiful song❤
First heard this song, film 'Forrest Gump'
Great song. Real musicians back in the days
This album captures the true sound of Jackson Browne. There are some hidden gems that touch the soul.
Jackson Brown "Lawyers in Love" w/video. Irresistible.
God damn! I don't think I'm allowed to have that much fun anymore.
Kel must not have watched many movies. We are about the same age but I heard this song in many movies even before choosing to listen to it on my own.
David Lindley on the lap steel!! An absolute MONSTER!
And the camera director almost ignored him, goddammit.
The live version on the album was recorded at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD.
In the shape of a, heart.
I saw a request once for Bouncing Round the Room by Phish. I really think Kel would love them because they are the happiest band ever!
Rosemary Butler, the blonde background singer here, was part of an all female rock band called Birtha. Definitely worth checking them out. There are a couple of videos of them on CZcams. Insanely tight.
Didn't she do a duet that charted in the 80s w/Phil Collins?
@@allisonyoung4007 I think you might mean Marilyn Martin?
Now you know the story of Jackson Browne Life.
I think she instantly fell in love with Browne lol
The Load Out/Stay, Sky Blue And Black, and For A Dancer please!
The Load Out/Stay is cool and I love Lawyers in Love. Lol!
That's David Lindley on the pedal steel.
LOL That is the one and only DAVID LINDLEY.
Not a pedal steel
@@stewartlwhincup7080 True. He was playing a normal guitar laid across his lap, like he would play a pedal steel.
Lap steel. A pedal steel is on a stand, with sustain pedals.
I was road worn from the '70s and this song was just COOL.
Gotta do The Pretender/Stay. (If you're on their web site - tell 'em. ; )
It's The Load Out/Stay, The Pretender is a totally different song, though it is awesome.
10-4. Let's have bofem.
Jackson browne wrote Somebody's baby from the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I don't if you both have seen that movie, if you haven't check it out because you will here the song. Great reaction.
Music was so damn GOOD back then!
He plays the piano too, Kel!
“I was standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona...” Jackson wrote that section for the Eagles. Just dopey trivia.
The Load Out and Stay ......or Doctor My Eyes is another great
David Lindley on the lap steel guitar (not a pedal steel) was a highlight on the album for me. Plus the great sound quality they were able to get on the songs they recorded on the back of the bus and in dressing rooms.
The dark, haunting ballad Here Come Those Tears Again is brilliant. Co-written by the mother-in-law of Jackson Browne and Jackson after the suicide of his first wife. Ironically, a huge hit one year after her death.
Do, Jackson Browne's, Doctor My Eyes.
ole9421 I agree.
I saw Jackson Browne live twice. AWESOME songwriter, singer. Try The Pretender album. Also 'Before the Deluge' and 'Late for the Sky.'
If you want something SO different, search for Jackson Browne singing 'The Crow in the Cradle.'
I don't see that kind of energy in live performances anymore.
Yes Jackson is Browne #1... Yes do Late For the Sky please.
He's 72 now. Man, I'm gettin' UP there. But HEY--I feel "Born again!"
Thanks, Ray GoSpellCheck!
:-P
Awesome. You also need to check out Dan Fogelberg....heck of a songwriter. Leader of the Band....Run for the Roses....Part of the Plan....all great.
The great David Lindley on slide!
I can't tell you how big a Jackson Browne fan I am, but I've never requested a reaction to any of his music, simply because I didn't think you covered his kind of stuff!
Saying that, having put in about 10 requests since I subscribed, I've given up attempting more since realising your backlog of songs must be immense.
Check out Jackson Browne's The Pretender Studio Version.
You should listen to the entire Running on Empty album (life on the road for a band). All the songs are great! Check out "Rosie". That's Russ Kunkel on drums. He played on EVERYONE's songs back in the day. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russ_Kunkel
Kel would also love Band on the Run by Paul McCartney and Layla by Eric Clapton!.
Prolific writer of songs
The Load Out/Stay. Any of the live versions
If you've seen Forrest Gump then you've heard that song....and many others......and that is a FANTASTIC live version of that song!
Could you react to Buffalo Springfield? One of the most influential bands of the 1960's. I would suggest "Mr. Soul" and "Bluebird."
"Running into the sun but I'm running behind ......"
This video reminds me of Bob Segar Hollywood Nights vid. Has Kel seen/heard that one yet?
He wrote the Eagles song, Take it Easy.
#JacksonBrowne - The Pretender - Studio Version, and Before The Deluge - Studio Version.
the female back up singer dint get enough screen time, shes awesome, wait til you see load out/stay, kinda girl id love to spend time with, great smile, girls need to smile
i was running
Great reaction! Can I ask, what software program is that?
Stay, The Pretender, and on and on
lookin into tier eyes i see tier runnin too
Check out Before The Deluge Studio Version
Well they know you'll like good music, you just love good music, someone mentioned Linda Ronstadt, and how yeah she was huge figure in the 70's, saw her on Midnight Special, so yes you must you must check her out, "Your No Good, When Will I Be Loved, and my fav, had it on 8 track Blue Bayou, and heard it in a movie, couple years back, some one else was singing it, took me a minute before I recognized it!, and the lyrics just started flowing from me, shocked myself that I remembered the words after not hearing it in such a long, long time. Also check out Melanie, Candles in the Rain, I believe is the song, and "Brand New Key", which was a quirky goofy little song that was played every minute on the radio, Melanie sang it like goofy dramatically emphasizing certain syllables, it was fun to sing along, I know Kel will love it!!, Please Rich play them for her, God Bless, Peace✌
Last year Linda Ronstadt had her 1980 HBO concert released on CD incredible show!
Jackson Brown " The Pretender"
Great version, looks like Donald "Duck" Dunn on Bass. Kel really seems to appreciate great performances. Has she seen Queen's full performance at Live Aid?
kel should definitely hear Song For Adam.
Was that Russ Kunkel on the drums? I'm most familiar with him when he toured with Stevie Nicks and her band.
Yes...that was Russ kunkle on drums...
