- Walk-in cooler with warm beer is a bad combination for a convenience store. Maintenance is something that would help prevent most service calls I run. Simple cleaning and testing goes a long way but it doesn't happen as much as it should. I find several problems with at this location.

Man what i would of done to be your apprentice when i first got into the trade, what i got was 1 month of ride along and than thrown into the field totally green, well 15 years later and watching your videos and still learning everyday.
Thanks man! I'm learning new stuff even 28 years latter. If you ever feel like you know all there is to know in this field then it's time to change into a different segment of the field like I did. I thought I was good before coming to this company, I found out real quick how little I knew. Also take the time to help a new tech if they want to learn. I got treated like shit in the beginning years, I had 3 good mentors out of several people that I worked with and that's why I do these videos. I love when I hear that I've made it easier for someone. There's no better feeling.
clear "nylon" jacketing over pvc insulation ( THHN/THWN) wire. the nylon is prone to UV light breakdown and moisture ingress. fortunately it's mainly there to protect the pvc insulation for installation/work. it would ideally be covered from UV/sunlight when outdoors( in conduit/flex/whatever), internal equipment wiring tends to escape the easy route of relaxed codes.

I got an interview Wednesday for a company that does strictly commercial kitchen hvacr. I'm excited, the company I work for now is taking on to much residential. We used to be strictly commercial. And it's driving me nuts. I'd rather deal with the on call of kitchen hvacr than crawl around in attics. Your in my opinion the best hvacr youtuber. Simple videos no life stories not trying to teach basic bullshit over and over every video. Keep doing what your doing man.

Don't elaborate on crap like "here's how you check to see if the thermostat is calling" or stuff that we learned 2 weeks in to the job. In my opinion The way your doing your videos are just fine. I love Chris's (hvacr videos) videos, but he's like changed the way he's doing things to trying to teach people how to do this job. just let us fellow techs watch your experiances. That's just my opinion.

Always enjoy watching you work it’s mind boggling to watch what you run into . I work on freezers and coolers for a school system blows me away at there thought process they have and will sail til it’s three foot thick of ice before they say hey we got a problem

When I go on a call I'll write the date and what the pressure is what the capicater read if I replace anything on the inside of the door just to have a history and like you I run it and make sure nothing else is wrong that sets a true technician apart from a want to be technician thanks for the video and you sir are a top class technician

warm beer = major panic ensues. very cold beer is a key selling point and keeps customers, warm beer or in warmer cooler that's mixed with other products that would freeze or get ruined is a big no-no. also known as a "beer sauna" (most gas stations/convenience stores)
I had technicians selling four and 10 of those motors a day
if they were going to put "service" toggle switches in the coolers, they should have used the one that requires a "tool" inserted to toggle them.
maybe some stupid local building code there requires them? I hate off the wall stupendous local building codes, some are super impractical and end up causing more issues or safety hazards than they fix!
Yeah those fancy switches would be nice. But anything more than $2 is too much money for some of these people. Heck sometimes you don't even get a switch when you deserve a switch

hey brother whay do yoy clean your micron gauge with? i know you said its a spray in the past. i just can't find that video anymore.... i thought it was the video 2 yr ago where you do the full trublu vacuum setup
They say use rubbing alcohol, I like using pass-load cleaner for air tools, it's convenient and sprays right into the gauge... just be sure you don't hit the sensor with the straw. You can pick it up at Lowe's

They do pretty well at having us do all their stores, they have a lot of convenience stores that they manage.
There is always going to be problems, when there is so many moving parts like what we work on a day to day basis started my week on call be safe

Does the clock and thermostat control a LLsolenoid in the unit?
Yes, the clock feeds power to the thermostat and the thermostat powers the solenoid.
Why do you replace motors instead of oiling them
Because the bearings are bad now that they've gone dry of oil. Once a motor stops spinning that bearing has expanded and the metal is damaged.

I carry that little pocket one that I did a review on and I've been carrying the latest version of the PD 35 phoenix. It doesn't have external USB to charge... it's built into the battery and I kind of like that better.

We're cheap per hour.
