    It seems like you’re like me, like the old stuff built better and last longer. Mechanical technology, will always last longer than electrical technology. You don’t conform to that energy efficient crap that everyone pushes down your throat. How energy efficient is it if we are replacing it more often. Planed obsolescence. So if you’re saying you like this new system and it’s well made, I have to take note, I don’t think you would say you like something just because you’re endorsed by a product. Well done. Love your videos.

It did have a "car" price to install, but the warranty is for 20 years, no queations. So if you switch to solar in Cali, you will move your power bill to your solar bill. With the current price of solar panels in Europe I would just hook a few of them up to this thing and grab some free kWh :D You can get 440W Panel from Trina (Tier A manufacturer ) for 76€ or $82,50 including tax here in Germany. That's in quantity of one, will get cheaper if you buy a full pallet. • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  Před 17 dny +1

      I have heard there’s a 30% tax credit available. One of the things to consider is when your gas generators is running and you don’t have any loads on it, you’re still burning gas….so if you don’t have solar, you could always charge it with the generator in anywhere from one to a couple hours, and then shut the gas generator off for several hours compared to the gas generator running nonstop

    If I have two electrical panels - that are on different floors - do I have to get two EcoFlow systems with two EcoFow panels?
    Also, since the EcoFlow panel does not have as many spaces for circuits as a regular electrical panel, do you combine circuits? In other words, can a Ecoflow panel circuit handle more than one circuit from the house electrical panel?

    If we are planning to have this unit in case of a multi day power loss like a hurricane and want it to run our home HVAC along with essentials (fridges, deep freeze, micro, cpap, pool equip), do we add up the amount of wattage each of these appliances use and buy enough DPU batteries to cover the wattage?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  Před 20 dny +1

      If you’re wanting to live life like you’re not on a reserve power with a battery system plan on spending allot of money on extra batteries and extra inverters. You’re definitely going to need solar cells or a gas generator to recharge it if you’re planning for a hurricane where the power can be out for several days if not longer. Pool equipment is not an necessity when you have no power, that eats up a lot of power. The easiest thing to do is look at your power bill and see how many kilowatts a day you use on average, that will tell you what you need to know and just add up how many days you want power for.

    If you had an AC coupled solar system, how would that work with regards to charging with solar via the AC back feed to grid? What happens during an outage when the AC coupled panels shut off? Is there a way to hook it up so that the solar can still be used during an outage but still on battery backup? (AC coupled panels)

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  Před měsícem +1

      This does not have an option for Back feeding to the grid. The thought process behind this system is charging your batteries and powering your home with your solar panels during the daylight hours and living off the batteries in the evening. All that would be dependent on the size of your solar panels and your battery capacity. EcoFlow also offers a gas generator that charges the battery DC to DC and communicates with the system and charges when it needs to automatically.

    Question; I have 25 circuits in my 200 amp main panel and plan to move the 12 most critical to this smart sub panel strictly for emergency power needs using a 2 battery Ultra configuration. My concern is the reliability of this smart panel and specifically the manual transfer switches. What type of switches are these? Are they a simple electro-mechanical switch where if the automated portion fails the manual function still works? I don't want to dedicate the 12 most critical circuits in my home and later experience a switch failure in the panel with no way to switch power for those circuits as for me it's either grid or battery. I've read at least one instance of a user having a panel issue where EcoFlow sent them a replacement SH2 panel which is an expensive swap out if an electrician is required. Are control components in this panel replaceable without having to disconnect and remove the entire panel?

      Most US homes have more than 12 circuits. In order to be a whole house system they must make smart home 2 with more circuits. A home with 20 + circuits, a 4 ton and 3 ton AC unit will have to run on two separate panels and 2 separate inverters running on two separate apps. I like the setup but the cost as compared to a whole house standby generator will be less due to 12 circuits limitation. It’s a good emergency backup solution but not a whole house system. Thanks for the very informative video.

      @@starcat8450 you can hook three inverters into one panel giving you 21,000+ Watts and use tandem breakers to give yourself 24 individual circuits. Or you could possibly run a 60 amp breaker on one of the sections of the smart panel and feed another sub panel box with more breakers but you wouldn’t have individual control of each circuit like it would be if it was on a normal circuit in the smart panel 2.

      Thanks for your reply. How is tandem breaker connect? I have a 200 amp main panel and 100 amp sub panel. I guess I have to put a 100 amp breaker in SHP2 to connect my sub panel and move circuits from main panel. Does SHP2 allow tandem breakers?
