In this video, we’re going to talk about liver cirrhosis and whether or it is reversible.
First, let’s talk about the differences between fibrosis and cirrhosis. Fibrosis is the first stage of cirrhosis, while cirrhosis is an advanced version of fibrosis. Essentially, cirrhosis is advanced scarring in the liver.
The more scarring in your liver, the less your liver has the ability to detoxify your body. In turn, you may have a build-up of toxins in your body if you have liver fibrosis or cirrhosis.
Liver fibrosis can start out with a fatty liver, liver inflammation, viral infections, alcohol consumption, a poor diet, low choline levels, too much iron, and certain drugs.
How do you know if you have cirrhosis? In many cases, the symptoms are non-existent. However, the signs of liver cirrhosis may include:
    • Edema
    • Low cognitive function
    • Ascites
    • Jaundice
    • Itchiness
    • Poor sleep
    • Dark urine
The more symptoms you have, the more advanced it is.
So, back to the question, can you reverse liver cirrhosis? The answer is: it depends. If you have mild fibrosis or cirrhosis, it may be possible to reverse some of the damage. However, if you have severe liver cirrhosis, the problem may not be reversible.
The most important thing is to do whatever you can to avoid liver cirrhosis in the first place.
Here are the best ways to support a healthy liver:
    • Tocotrienols
    • Bile salts
    • Fasting
    • Vitamin D
    • Probiotics

I was diagnosed with cirrhosis based on Fibroscan requested by my gastroenterologist and on december 2021 my score was 15.7kpa, so stage 4 (cirrhosis) which was caused by fatty liver disease, I started the ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting and milk thistle supplements, 1 year, 75 fewer pounds later, yesterday I went for another fibroscan, my score went from 15.7kpa to 4.5kpa, stage 1(mild/no fibrosis) so...YES Cirrhosis IS reversible

For the passed couple or 3 years, I have been seeing a Liver Specialist... The first visit indicated that I had Stage 4 Cirrhosis... That's a lot of scarring... Prior to that I added "Serrapeptase" to my list of supplements and take 240,000 SUs per day... The result is, I am no longer Stage 4, but am now Stage 3 and it's getting better. I also take "Berberine" and about 700 mg of Choline daily... My experience is, it is totally reversible, but it takes time and dedication... I also take almost everything you mentioned... I eat plenty of raw nuts and seeds, avocados, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic shredded coconut and coconut oil from time to time. I drink 2 cups of organic coffee every day, I only drink coffee and water. I was diagnosed by ultrasound FibroScan and blood work as well as examination. I now have a normal functioning liver and all the tests now see a normal liver. Getting out of the way of your liver is better than any special supplements that are being offered. I hope this helps.

Understanding what doesnt work properly in your liver and what supps you need to assist the broken functions is key as well as reducing inflammation and of course no added fructose/HFCS and alcohol which is like a bullet to the liver. But ursochol works very well according to the specialists where I get tested once or twice a year, and the last time the doctor said that we will do everything we can to postpone the process and hopefully to the point that you die of more natural causes so to speak, because they are generally making huge progress within the field. They say the caught it early ( 36 years old). But overall I’m doing alright. It’s the taking of the daily pills that reminds me of the disease, otherwise my quality of life is quite good:)

    Hello Dr Berg
I very much enjoy the videos on your page and they have become very very informative for me. I'm a 43 year old man from Ontario Canada and I have been sick for the past couple years. I have recently found out I have stage 2 liver fibrosis and Stage one fatty liver disease. They also discovered that I have brain aneurysms in a heart aneurysm. I keep getting told that my condition is unreversible from these Canadian doctors. I know everybody Praises Canada because of their Healthcare System but is absolutely horrible. Just because we get Healthcare we don't pay for immediately doesn't mean we don't pay for it. And the healthcare is very subpar. So I watch your videos to educate myself and I want to thank you very much for taking the time to inform us all when sometimes you don't get the cooperation of the doctors we deal with. I was told by my doctors that I was hepatitis detectable but with no viral load and they told me my body very likely will have fought the infection off but not before doing damage to my liver. Is it normal to have constant fatigue and abdominal discomfort? I'm not getting any answers from my specialist or my GP. I informed about it 6 months ago and I still can't get in to see a doctor. I could really use your opinion and your help I'm kind of at my wit's end I don't know how much more of this constant fatigue and aching I can take. I feel like I have the flu 24 hours a day for the past 2 years

My friend who is 81 years old. He is kinda alcoholic, I would find him drunk passed out once per month…. One time he drove to buy alcohol, and I found him passed out in his drive way a day after because he was not answering calls.
Two months ago, he was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. I felt bad I didn’t stop him drinking although I yelled at him all the time…
Is possible for him to reverse it at his age? He has stop drinking…

Thank you for the information. I was diagnosed F4 after fibroscan on 1/21/22. Had an EDG showed no verices and I dont have any other symptoms of cirrhosis. I got the diagnosis over the phone by the doctors nurse who told me " you must lose weight, low carb diet, no alcohol" I was like thats it? How many carbs is he considering low carb, what foods are liver friendly etc... her reply was "I'm not sure, he didnt say". Had to request to see a dietician again her oh so helpful response was "you will need a referral", to which I replied " then get me one" oh yes then after my EDG the doctor is standing there telling me how hard it is to lose the weight ( I had already overhauled my way of eating and started exercising, and lost 20 pounds between 1/26/22 and 3/2/22) and it was going to be very hard to keep it off. Then says " I'm not trying to discourage you..." I was thinking exactly what are you doing then? He sure wasnt giving me any of the useful tips you have, just "we will do another Fibroscan in 1 year. " Note my AST was 51 in Nov 2021 down to 31 Feb 24, 2022 and my ALT was 64 in Nov 2021 down to 62 Feb 24 2022. Bilirubin 0.5 both times. Glucose (nonfasting) 108 in Nov 85 in Feb. I hope to get the ALT down too.

@@anoopnair9068 I have lost 62.9 pounds so far. I am doing low carb, lean protien (chicken, turkey, seafood, dietician said i could eat fish but i dont like fish so..., occasionaly sirloin steak, also can have lean pork loin on occasion. And occasionaly 93% or more lean grass fed ground beef), nuts, legumes, fresh fruit ( eaten with a protien to minimize blood glucose spikes), and veggies (especialy cruciferous veggies). Healthy fats (Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Avacado Oil, Coconut Oil, and some butter(grass fed)). Oatmeal with collegen peptides added for protien and frozen blueberries is a great breakfast. I have been doing intermittent fasting 16-18hr fasts, but i dont let the fasts rule my life. If there are times when we will be somewhere with friends or relatives or an event i eat with them and get back on track at the next day or when it works best... I have been drinking black coffee, matcha tea, matcha tea with ginger, and a ginger, tumeric, and cinnamon blend tea ( 1 bag of each once per day) . I have been taking TUDCA, moringa, Coenzyme Q10, Omega 3 fatty acid supplement, Choline, & a B complex vitamin every day. I dont get a repeat of labs til August of this year, and Fibroscan til January or February of next year. Please get an appointment with a dietician as everyone is at a different level with this desease. Get rid of sugar, wheat, wheat flour, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, canola oil, sunflower oil.

The ALT and AST tests measure enzymes that your liver releases in response to damage or disease. The albumin test measures how well the liver creates albumin, while the bilirubin test measures how well it disposes of bilirubin. ALP can be used to evaluate the bile duct system of the liver.

Do NOT take multivitamin with iron. Stop the red meat intake .Reseach other foods, drinks that you are daily intaking for iron content..Then check every week till iron drops to acceptable level. Then slowly add a piece of red meat into your diet. IF iron rises up, reduce red meat intake

    per day
    1500mg inositol
    1500mg choline
this was a common body building practice to protect liver damage from all the drugs they took. Although many are skeptical if it really worked. Since we have been watching Dr. Berg for many years. I would say there is a chance it works just fine.
Both inositol and choline are lipotrophic so they aid in the breakdown of fat. Worth looking into.
