Letâs talk about what your skin is telling you about your liver. If your liver is healthy, your skin is going to look great. If itâs not, your skin isnât going to look good.
The good news is that the liver can actually regenerate if you do the right things. Iâm going to share some great foods to help preserve your liver. But first, weâre going to identify if there could be a liver problem by looking at the skin. Before tests even pick up on a potential liver problem, youâll notice some changes in your skin.
Indicators that you could have a liver problem:
1. Yellow skin (jaundice)
2. Red palms (palmar erythema)
3. Red nose (rhinophyma)
4. Red cheeks (rosacea)
5. Hair loss
6. Paper money skin
7. Spider veins (spider angiomas)
8. White growths on the eyelids (xanthomas)
9. Purple flat bumps (lichen planus)
10. Purple-red spots (ecchymosis)
11. Liver (aging) spots
12. White scaling plaquing (dandruff)
13. Crusty red nodules (prurigo nodularis)
14. Stretch marks from ascites
15. Flattened face (facial lipodystrophy)
The best foods to help improve the liver:
âą Radishes
âą Lemons
âą Apple cider vinegar (ACV)
âą Arugula
âą Cruciferous vegetables
âą Garlic
âą Sea kelp
âą Mustard
âą Dandelion greens
âą Egg yolks

Thanks for watching! I hope this helps explain how to identify a potential liver problem by looking at your skin.
OK, passed on the liver symptoms... now onto his 2,500 other videos to try to figure out what is wrong with me because the doctors are clueless. Who else is grateful for Dr. Berg helping you be your own doctor.
Yep.. Doctors really are clueless. Trouble is people have been trained to give the white coats god-like status.
What IS wrong with you ?.
Same.
Yes, I am very grateful to him. He is marvellous.
Youâre the only person who can cure you.
Right. I know what you mean. I've narrowed it down to maybe 4 -5 things since some symptoms are very much the same like other ailments.

I was diagnosed with a Severe Fatty Liver & Liver Fibrosis in 2018. I have Hemochromatosis & I was eating tons of carbs via pasta, potatoes, bread, rice. I was getting horrendous night sweats & leg cramping at night, plus itchy skin - thatâs when I knew something was wrong. Unbeknownst to me - My Ferritin was at 4580 (normal is 0-50). Excess iron damaged my liver, along with it being Fatty from so many carbs. I immediately went Healthy Keto & Iâve lost 150lbs. I went from 321lbs to 170lbs in 2 years, & have maintained that for a year now. My liver is somewhat better, but I donât know if itâll ever get back to 100%. So, please everyone out there - get off the Coca-Cola, the pizza, the pasta, rice, bread, & carbs. Dipping your bread into Olive Oil is not going to make you healthy.
You should take NAC and also some herbs for the liver!
I eat all that stuff, and do IF; never done Keto. My ferritin is in the 40s, and I weight 121lbs at 43 y.o. Look into reading The Zodiac and the Salts of Salvation by George W. Carey & Inez E. Perry, and Facial Diagnosis of Cell Salt Deficiencies by David R. Card. You probably have other things going on, then high ferritin.
I have Hemochromatosis as well. Trying to reverse my fatty liver and enlarged spleen but making progress. Even getting diagnosed with this hereditary disease was close to impossible. Keep up the good fight. Thanks Dr.
Thank you for sharing your story!
@@jenniferbecca3050 Do you also have hemachromatosis? I do and very high ferritin and itchy skin, leg cramps, etc. Skin is pasty. Help!!!!!
Dr. Berg..... you're doing God's work here on Earth. In these dark times.....your videos help guide us to a healthy and well balanced illumination (mind AND body!). I absolutely love your videos, and loooove the comment sections. Everyone is so supportive, empathetic, energetic, compassionate and caring....it's incredible!!! I love you and everyone in the comments. Every single video is SO uplifting. Makes me smile for the rest of the day when I watch you first thing. Reminds me that I'm not alone, I CAN do this, and it doesn't have to be all at once. Little changes day by day are perfect. Just bought myself some nutritional yeast today, and just finished my glass of water with a wee bit of apple cider vinegar. Notice right away that my stomach feels AMAZING!!! No feelings of bloating or thoughts of cookies. Loving it! Thank you SO much!!!!!
The difference in the way YOU (Dr. Berg) look seeing your videos just from a few years ago speak massive volumes to how much healthier you are!!
Yep, just in the past year really is looking 20 yrs younger. I've been accusing him of airbrushing his image on videos, lol
@@curiouscat3384 well he's definitely got some sort of smoothing effect on this one, not sure if that's just on by default, most mobile cameras do it automatically.
Within 3 months after being diagnosed diabetic type 2 and getting strict on my keto & intermittent fasting, almost all the symptoms you refer to in the video & I had just assumed were related to getting older have all but disappeared! Most noticeable has been my hair which has been greasy ever since I remember & had to wash every day, now just needs cleaning once a week to remove dirt. Dandruff has gone & my skin gone from acne prone with both very oily & very dry patches to normal & clear. If only I had known just how much difference diet makes would have saved myself a small fortune on so called remedies because like most people I had assumed this was just how I was.
You're so lucky :( I am a type one diabetic i can't get rid of mine
Did you face any hairloss issues?
this comment was helpful to me
Thank you for this very complete information on this specific area of health ,this is amazing ,cause it is always better to prevent than to treat (any illness ) so this is just very helpful and good guide .
Sending blessings to you Dr Berg and to your dearest ones đđ»â€ïž
Brilliant discussion on liver symptoms, complete with actual photos and conditions relevant to a problem liver. All the foods mentioned, including some newbies to my understanding, will be added to the diet. Thank you Dr Berg for your time and dedication to the health and well being of all your viewers!!
Thanks Dr Berg!! You're seriously the best teacher â€ïž
I used to have spider veins behind my knee and on my thighs. Since doing strict keto and more recently carnivore, I've found they have completely disappeared!! đâ€ïžâșïž It took a few years but it's a noticeable difference đđđđ
That's amazing! I have those. How much do you attribute the disappearance of the spider veins to keto and/or carnivore?
I didn't do anything else but keto for past 5 years and carnivore (for past few months).
They were really obvious and bulging. Now completely gone.
I'm still hoping. I don't think my spider veins or varicose have changed much after 2 yrs on Keto but I haven't been super strict. Can you attribute a significant change after starting carnivore? I think Berg has said in the past that the worse your liver is when you start, the longer it will take to repair the damage. My ugly veins are probably 20 yrs old now :)
@@curiouscat3384 try to strict ketovore, although it's hard but I believe the results speak for themselves.
Even look at Dr Berg over the years, how much more youthful he looks.
I'm 40 so I didnt have the spider veins for that long and they are definitely hereditary đ€Ł
Thank you - my question was specifically about whether you think carnivore gets credit for some or most of the change? I agree Berg looks younger now than even two years ago when I started following. I'm committed - just a little scatterbrained about meal planning but you inspire me to try harder :) BTW neither my mother or 5 aging sisters had/have spider or varicose veins so I think it's lifestyle. A lot of what we think we "inherited" is really just living and learning the same lifestyle habits!
Wish you the best Dr. Berg. You are helping many people to have a healthy life.
Amazing content as expected. Your videos never disappoint. Thank you for illustrating the terminology.
It started with sore throat two years back . Then GERD symptoms pop up. Endoscopy confirmed Hpylori infection. Doctor prescribed proton pump inhibitors. After taking these for month and a half got itching all over my body especially in folding areas.Always tired. Six months ago had spiced chips with coke followed by chocolates. Urinated blood at night, diagnosed with UTI. It was followed by acne on back, forehead and dandruff and itching in my head. I'm a very fit person with regular exercise but Nothing was working. Then a month ago I found dr. Berg here and realised I'm eating tons of sugar daily with healthy snacks which included sugarcane juice and fruits in between. Now eating thrice a day with no or very little sugar, no snacking. Taking 1 cod liver capsule and a vitamin b complex capsule daily for the last three weeks and my acne are gone, itching is 95 % less, less irritation, thinking clear for the first time in two years. You are an angel. God bless you dr. Berg.

Thanks, good to know for those with alcohol issues.. more often is just a full feeling especially on the right side⊠usually a fatty liver (hopefully). Weight loss and healthy diet can help get the fat out of the liver.
It's about red nose sir the 3rd one
All the blood leaving the stomach and intestines passes through the liver. The liver processes this blood and breaks down, balances, and creates the nutrients and also metabolizes drugs into forms that are easier to use for the rest of the body or that are nontoxic.đ
And... Do Not eat Advil and Drink Alcohol.. Because it can cause Acute Liver Failure!!! Trust me!

Good morning Dr. Berg,
I've been watching your videos for a couple of weeks so I'm new to your channel but I'm absolutely hooked! I like the information you freely give and I can absorb it because of your delivery method. I love the way you explain in simple english, I love your split screen line items, I love the graphs, the hand drawn body parts and the high-tech graphics you use to elaborate on a specific body part, plant part or vitamin breakdown etc. I've learned more from your teaching in the last couple weeks than any other training videos that I've ever watched from doctors, sports trainers, hobbies I follow etc. I truly like your style and look forward to your next video alerts to pop up on my phone. Thank you for your passion to teach and treat people how to make themselves healthier and how to sustain a healthy body. I've never seen such detailed and absorbable informative videos on trouble shooting bodily symptoms and conditions. You always give a solution to the issue and I've not heard you give a solution that I can't go to the grocery store or my garden or health food store to find the needed supplies to fix it myself, you've not yet sent me to the big pharma yet and I love that. Thank you.
I do have a question for you and it's one that really bugs me.
I am a facial hair type guy and my facial hair ranges from close cut full beards to cropped long goatees of nearly 12". No matter the length of my facial hair I almost always have a dry itchy chin and mustache area resulting in flakes of dry, white dead skin. Sometimes the itchy spots are so irritating and irritated that I break the shin surface and later from scrubbing my facial hair with Head and Shoulders shampoo it scabs over but as a strange dry white deposit that I have to comb them out with a fine comb. I've used the same brand (H&S) shampoo but various scents for 30 years. The shampoo doesn't fix the problem, is my problem internal and I'm incorrectly treating the symptoms of an internal issue?
Thank you so much for your teaching!

Hi Doctor Berg! I've got to thank you for the good results of my latest lab tests as far as the liver is concerned. I changed my diet about one year ago, listening to your advice (and to Ivor Cummins as well), lowering the carbs, sugar, fructose and eating good things for the liver. I stopped all alcohol as well. One year ago, my gamma-gt figure was 95 (more than 50% above the advised limit of 61), ... and lo and behold now, one year after starting a better diet and eating better food, I'm back to 61!!! Dramatic! And I really feel better as well. Your videos are really illuminating!

Looking forward to your next video about topical dandruff remedy. I have fixed all of my health issues except can not completely get rid of dandruff.
I've had a flesh-colored mole on my chest for over 62 years which had *never* changed in shape, or color.
Being on Keto for 10 months now and two weeks ago it began to discolor and it hardened. I was paranoid thinking a dermatology visit were in order to liquid-nitro the thing off (or, freezing it). I let a week go by to see it dried up on its own and went away. - I had a nickname for my mole, "Pedro." I won't be missing Pedro...lol. It was a good at 62 but Keto kicked him to the curb.

Ever since I started intermittent fasting for the last 5 months it no longer happens, but back in 2019 I used to constantly get boils there was one boil that became severely infected in my back and I had to go to ER from passing out.
So my question is could these boils been an indication that my liver was in serious trouble? I even went to a kidney doctor because I had a boil somewhere I don't want to talk about on a comment ,but my doctor she tried to do a lot of research to figure out why I kept getting boils and she couldn't figure out anything. The one thing that I did notice when I started to fast more and more change the way eat lifestyle and I haven't had a boil for a long time. I do know I have heard that fasting can help with the liver

@@now591 I've been doing it for about 2 years. Off and on with liver. Dairy drastically reduced for 3 years. I am not strict on diet and eat almost everything I want, but I have been listening to my body for over a decade (I'm 32).
@@curiouscat3384 mostly have always hated milk, pasta, bread, grains my whole life. So naturally gravitated to "keto diet" before I ever even knew what it was. I'm big on red meats, all veggies, and only Gala apples and occasionally berries. Rice (my favorite food) a few times a week. Little pork, maybe chicken once or twice a week. Sugar is mostly alcohol (tequila) and sauces (on meats). No beer. Hope that helps.
@@td00174 I'm curious why only gala apples. When I use to eat apples I only ate the floury ones . Not sure what it's called.
â I have a question.
Why doesn't i tolerate eggs anymore.
I usually love eggs, but suddenly I get stong pain in my tummy after eating eggs. Are there a good answer for that...?
Kind regards
