In this episode of building our cabin and homestead in Alaska, Becca finally gets to do a project because Henry is the best baby ever!
In all seriousness, I greatly enjoyed putting together my miniature greenhouse and also greatly enjoyed the price tag of 0 dollars. Henry has been awesome and that has been letting me get my hands dirty again. That feels so amazing!
The guys also finished up the last of the main logs for the cabin! From here on out it will be gable end logs, the loft windows and then the roof! They have been absolutely cruising on their work despite all of our infamous coffee breaks.
We will be moved to the property by our next video!! This is why I hurried up to get some protection built for my seedlings and we worked on a few side projects during this week. Henry has gotten so big. He's so cute. I'm really scared of heights, so the men freak me out climbing all over the top. 😂
The cabin is gonna be so cute. The little green house is adorable, nice job on it! The Blue Angel going over was cool. They were here in Florida a couple weeks ago for an air show, they are amazing.

My primary mosquito repellent is peppermint essential oil mixed into a spray bottle with water. I spray down all exposed skin as well as my clothing and it keeps away the mosquitoes and the ticks here in the south. I’ve also been seeing something on Instagram recently that says if you take a small amount, maybe quarter cup of coffee grounds and light them on fire, it will keep mosquitoes out of the area. I haven’t tried that one yet.

What material are you tacking down in between the logs?
Insulation! Then the outside will also be chinked between logs. To keep as much warmth in as we can.

When i was a vegetarian i didn't attract the dreaded mosquitoes like my meat eating friends. Could be this is natures way of protecting little one's? Your build is really progressing
