So glad you brought up color. From what biologists say, fish are color blind so they're seeing in shades of grey. That being said, I'd think the darker the color, the more visible it would be against the background.
I've watched a ton of fishing content over the years but to this day this dude has probably taught me more than anyone.
Nice! We love to hear feedback like this. Happy to help. Thanks for being a loyal viewer!
5:30 if you already know how to rig it.
ty
Love wacky rig with a 1/16oz tungsten bullet weight, weedless wacky hook and a trick worm. Catches big and small fish alike.
Haven't spent much time fishing a wacky rig. Can't wait to put some time in and work on these techniques. Thanks for the great tips and video.
Love fishing weightless especially in small lakes and ponds. Weights attract weeds and grass more. I have be rigging worms through the head, or tail or middle since I was a kid. As a kid I could not afford to buy new worms so I had to be creative in my rigging. Today I am just cheap. :). I will reuse a worm til it is just too short to use. I rarely use a jig head but will give it a try a bit more.
I fished Lake Biwa here recently and caught all of my fish except one on a wacky rig. It was the first time I fished the wacky rig all day and it's definitely something I'll have rigged up all the time.
I love to use this setup, catch more fish with this than anything else!
I'm gonna try a weighted setup now...never had much luck with them weightless due to lack of action. Good tips!
This is a great way to fish. I have caught many bass using this method. I use o rings on my worms. Seem to last a little longer.
Excellent video to teach you how to wacky fish!
Bill Crow Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Very informational video! I'll keep it in mind in the future when I wacky rig for sure! In addition to that I did all asked and those baits would be nice addition to help catch some bass
use wacky rig a lot but usually insert weight in senko or worm. never tried on jighead but will. good video, thanks
I love the wacky rig, great for pressured bass on Guntersville
Awesome article. Ive never tried but hust went and gots to use for wacky fishing. Cant wait to try this weekend. Thanks
Creative and informative can't wait to employ this next time I get out fishing.
I have never fished a worm wacky style!. Since I have watched this video and seen ways to present my bait to the fish and how to rig it correctly, I wanna try it now more than ever. Great video! Thanks Bass Resource!!!
Bridgette Woolwine Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Wacky worming works! I love skipping wacky rigged Senkos under boat docks.
Started fishing this summer and haven’t gotten anything yet. All the videos out there are so confusing and telling you to buy this or that. Thank you for keeping it simple yet detailed. I appreciate you mention what gear works best without having to spend so much money. I am going to try these tips!
Glad to help, @freddyj5845. Let me know how it works out as I would love to see the results.
After watching this video and using some of the tips my wacky rig fishing has gone up dramatically
I fish a 5" senko early rigged, weightless on a gamakatsu 1/0 offset worm hook. I caught 16 bass today. The senko wacky rig requires it being weightless for maximum wiggle. It also gives the bass the most time to grab it on the fall.
Yeah.....to each their own and I hate to be pedantic but by definition a wacky worm rig is weightless. I can't wait to try out my Wave fishing 5" bamboo sticks. These are some fat, heavy senkos.
how do u reel the worm?
@@super_5402 with your hands
I like wacky worm about this time of the year when the grass mats are pretty much fully floating. It's easy to drop it into holes and in the edges and gives you time to play the worm on the way down. I have caught a lot of nice five doing this.
I've not tried this yet but this video explains alot more than most who are just tring to sell something. another great one form yinz guys.
mwmnmwm Thank you!
That’s very true I agree this guy really does explain good I always thought with the other videos I was bad at paying attention but no there just bad at keeping peoples attention and actually teaching them

Never tried this before but willing to try anything on these lake Allatoona bass.good video.
One of my favorite ways to fish. Learned some new tips thanks.
Thanks. I have never tried Wacky Rig fishing but am going to give it a shot this morning. Great video instruction.
Mike Geer Thank you!
Very informative. I have not fished this way before, but plan to give it a try after seeing this video.
I am anxious to try this technique. I have seen it work for some people and work well! Thanks for sharing how easy it is!
Jimmy Chaplin You're welcome!
Good video with great ideas. Looks like a good way to fish in every season. Thanks for the tips.
I've fished it weightless a lot but I will definitely try it with a jig head/weighted hook now.
MassYak85 yea I never used a weight
I do the wacky rig with small 4"worm on #6 Hook & slip sinker.
First time on this channel. I already like this guy. Honest and not trying to do a bunch of unnecessary stuff and use ridiculous amounts of gear to impress people or make himself sound more educated. All about the honest, simple approach that works best for him in his experience. And amen to the worm color not making a massive difference. I'm always debating people on that topic and I'm with you. It's all in the action.
Wow closinginonclosure, thanks for the feedback and support. Glad I can provide value. I look forward to hearing more from you.
BassResource - Bass Fishing Information Absolutely. Thank you for investing the time and effort to make these videos, and content to help fellow anglers. I've looked at many channels and yours is the first one I subscribed to. It's important to me to respect the person's opinion and feel like minded to an extent. As well as having a relatable approach and mentality on the water. I feel like you're genuine and genuinely trying to help. Where as some channels seem to be a showcase of how much shit they know that you don't. How much tackle and hardware they own, and how amazing they think they are. Haha. Glad I found your channel. Looking forward to watching more of your content. Thanks again!
Finesse fishing is my favorite style, love to feel that bite!
Great way to fish , Love it cause it flat out catches fish !
I wanted to tell you how great this video was. I recently got back into frequent fishing after many years of it being rare due to life things. I inherited my father "small tackle shop" worth of rods, reels and tackle. He loved to fish. Probably slightly more than he loved to find and buy more gear and tackle "just cuz you never know what they will want" I kept hearing about wacky rig and I had to find out what it was. I googled videos and yours popped up. So I tried it out. I have about 8 bass this year and 6 of them on wacky rig. I was using various size rods/reels and line weights. Some braid some mono. KVD Coffee scented green pumpkin sticks ( I just ran out of them so time to shop haha) I use them with weedless weighted like you show, with standard J hooks, Circle hooks and off center circles too. Basically the fish just cant say no. Well except this one lake in the WMA I fish. So far those bass only hit rattle traps from rapala. Anyway, many thanks this is one video that definately improved my catch.
+Joel Harris That's awesome Joel! You just made my day. Glad it helped!
I've never been good at fishing the wacky worm. Practice, practice, practice is what I need to do to get better!!
Glenn May always gives the insight on the best techniques for bass fishing!!!
tonymaxedon Thank you! And thanks for watching!

Very good information here. Thanks BR!
i'm new to bass fishing thank for the videos.
Thanks! I picked up a couple of things no one else has talked about.
Thomas Palmer, glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
Ill have to try this out, looks pretty interesting!
I use a very light weight to help me get distance from shore or in windy conditions. Not all stickbaits or worms fall the same; depends upon design, salinity, line type and line size, etc.
Color is an important factor, especially when fishing in dark tannic water or muddy conditions. Dark colored baits are easier to see in low vis, clear or bait imitating plastics for whatever the bass are feeding on at that time. The more anglers putting the hooks in the fishes' faces, the more critical details become to be successful at fishing pressured bodies of water. Glenn is in an area that doesn't have the pressure we have here in Southern California.
That's how I fish wacky with the exception I use an unweighted 1/0 weedless wacky VMC hook. If I need the weight for deep wacky fishing or it's windy, I'll put shot on the line 6-10" up from the hook/bait
I wacky rig senko and it works really good
I've always fished 'weedless'. I'm going to try wacky weighted!
Just started fishing wacky rig. Still no bites, but this helped a ton.
Thanks!
Then there’s no fish
thanks, glenn! great, detailed video... as usual. i'll be hitting it with the wacky rig shortly. ty.
Glad to help, doublegregg. Let me know how it works out as I would love to see the results.
@@bassresource tysm, glenn! i will.
Thanks for the video! Great info!
I love the wacky in the grass!
Love wacky rig fishing!
Thanks for the video. Ive never really used many soft plastic baits vert much bc honestley ive never caught many fish on them. I'm gonna give this a shot thos evening though and see what happens.
Joseph Lilley, glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
Braid to leader allows anglers to see falling bites easier. The high-vis braid acts like a visual cue.
good video, gonna try these technics.
Great video, definitely going to try this out
Great video! Lots of info! Thanks for the tips Glen!
Chuck Barrick You're welcome!
Love the wacky rig .
Heading to Bienville Plantation next week for the KBF tournament. Thanks for the video, liked and subscribed.
Kayak Chris, glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
This is a simple way of fishing love it
Haven't had much luck wacky rigging myself. both times I've tried it I've gotten snagged and broken off. I may have to look around some stores and grab some of the weedless hooks, or try making the regular hook weedless as I saw on a website the other day.
Thanks for this instruction!!!
Thanks for the tips!
THanks this helped me catch with my first cast using a wacky rig
alexander evans, glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
Definitely gonna have to try it!
Love the vid. You made the information straight forward. Other videos dance around the normal answer.
+Fear15Day Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
Love the video. Gonna try it out
One of the best video.Thanks
great tips for wacky style
I have tried wacky rigging my tubes and no joy. For some reason I have never used a senko and plan on using it this weekend both weightless (10 ft depth water) and weighted on some 30 ft holding fish to see what happens.
Glenn, thank you for informative video as always, I am doing some kind of wacky rig that I haven't seen it anywhere, thats why I call it ATA's wacky rig. its treble hook (with weight or weightless).ill put that on your website, you might have time to see it, if I am lucky.
thank you
Awesome. Thanks for the feedback ATA!
your videos are awesome I haven't caught any bass yet with wacky rigs but hopefully I do so I get more experience for senkos and other baits for bass and some color senkos work amazingly for drop shot because of what they like I guess
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
+Jayson V yes because it gives like a new skill set for senkos and some bass or big bass prefer wacky rigs
Great info. Sweet. Thanks.
Great information here
Awesome! Thank you!
Can't wait to try this out!!
Great information!
good info will start trying this
The video was very informative.
Great info. Thanks for sharing 🎣 👍
thanks for the tips
Great Video with a lot of info
This is an awesome way to catch fish. just don't wait to long to set the hook bc they swallow the bait quickly!!
ak47soulja2 they normally hit it on the drop and when you start reeling he’s already had it in his mouth for 10+ secs
Again, thanks for the tips
Great information.. thanks
Very informative. The video was great and I would like to know if I can use actual worms for this if I can't find and lures of natural colour
Taalya Thinn It will not work with live bait.
Great info going out to try it
Thanks for the advice good video
I sometimes just put a split shot above the top of the hook and it works great....just like a weighted one
That’s a good tip as well, Johnny Blaze. Thanks for sharing.
I like to have my rig about mid water if not three forths from the bottom I feel that works wonders
That’s a good tip as well, AJ Weimer. Thanks for sharing.
Another awesome video
Thankyou at last a you-tube vid that’s not trying to sell me stuff
You're welcome John ClawAfrica! Thanks for watching.
Great Video!!!
Just started using this set up and been getting plenty of bites, but having trouble sticking em
I love my weightless senko fishing. Keep saying I'm going to try wacky but never get to it. I just finished setting up one of my senko rods for wacky. I will give it a shot tomorrow morning.
Curious fishing minds here wanna know how it went??
+ryanjofre I caught two that morning. i still prefer weightless senkos, texas rigged.
Hey, we saw the NASCAR race in Phoenix two weeks ago....damn Harvick......I thought Junior was gonna win. I don't understand........so your saying a Texas Rig is your favorite. A weightless Texas rig would just be a weightless rig....lol. A bullet weight on top of a vertically rigged senko is a Texas rig right??
awesome. thanks again.
Thanks I learned alot
Bass Resource is a great resource!
Great video!
Outside of green pumpkin also used watermelon color. I've gotten more on those two baits than I have on any others. Now semi Smokey black with silver Fleck in it will also work in areas but as Clearwater as he mentioned watermelon and green pumpkin will be best.
Yes, absolutely Todd Dreher! Thanks for watching!
Never fished with these or any fake worm actually, might have to try it out ,does it produce good ?
Boom, more videos please!
