I know people that don’t like Senkos. They always say they are too soft, they cost too much, and they tear up after just one fish. My response always is ,” They catch fish”.
Roland Martin’s favorite lure and if it’s Roland Martin’s favorite Lure, well then it’s mine too
And you don't need $8 a bag Yamamoto's either.
@@woosa42Yep yum dingers are like $13 per 30 lol. ezpz fish.
@@jeremydion6139 - lol. Where did you buy them for $13, so i know where not to go. I paid $8 for 30, and they were not on sale. lol
@@woosa42 the good 9ld Canadian dollar vs American exchange sadly 😭
Just recently started bass fishing. Caught my first one the other day on a texas rigged senko. Within twenty minutes I caught my second! Thanks for all the tips!
With a Medium heavy bait caster?
@@christianb8228 not needed. Lightweight tackle with mono can catch bass just fine
I’m a big trout fisherman but I’ve never caught a bass I’ve been trying this whole summer and still nothing
@@frankmclain8921 that’s wasn’t the question he asked. Also catching “just fine” isn’t a flex, would you want a “just fine” doctor doing heart surgery on your grandma? Y’all elcheapos gonna ruin some kids day of fishing who don’t know no better and takes your advice gets some 10 pounds fluro test and breaks on a 9 pound bass when he coulda got braid for 2 more dollars and hooked a 15 pound bass no issue.
@@secretpothead9093 ye cuz a doctor and fishing is the same thing
Cross 2 o rings like an X to apply the hook in the correct direction.
I've been using the Cross over method as well for years, works great.
Thanks for the tip about the heat shrink tubes. I use two o rings crisscrossed. The book stays positioned correctly, but the rings tear up the worm. I'm anxious to try the heat shrink. Love the videos. Have fun fishing.
Been more than 40 years since I fished plastic worms, but I'm looking to get back into it--thanks for this great primer!
Thanks for another great video, Gene; caught my first bass on a Texas rig today! The night fishing video has been a big help with the days getting shorter.
I cant tell you how much this video helps me, I have always wondered how to fish a senko, now I know. Actually set one up this morning but not quite the correct way. Thanks.
I started the heat shrink 2 years ago.
I love it!
Thanks, Gene, for another informative video! I look forward to your live Friday night streaming sessions. Keep up the good work!!!!
You have helped so many people I just got into fishing and you're seriously the only chanel I've watched because the information is very well explained, thank you for helping get into fishing 🎣🙌🏾💪🏾
I appreciate your tip on the Wacky Rig and others. I prefer stick baits that are less expensive than Senkos, but perform about as well.
Great instructions, I'm new to bass fishing and hope to catch one on tomorrow using these techniques. Thank you
You could also criss-cross two o rings in order to keep the hook up, has always worked great for me. Appreciate the tips!
Thanks for this video. The wacky and Texas rigged senko is the style of fishing i want to work on this year.
The heat shrink trick is awesome. Thanks. It gives me other ideas.
KVD perfect plastic also makes the Shimme Stick. One of my top 3 senko style baits. Great video Flukemaster!
Hi, I liked the way you hooked the worm. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. God bless you.
Literally fishing while I watch and listen to this video!! thank you for the awesome advice
Love it when you TALK SENKO to me! I'll try a Carolina Rig with one on my next fishing trip, hopefully over this holiday weekend 👏💯😎
This is my number one fishing channel love the videos and a great role model definitely taking this to Clark Hill it's been tough for me this last month God bless be safe and keep fishing
Your videos are very helpful.
Wow Gene another video totally meant gor me and my style of fishing. Brilliant idea with the shrink wrap.! Also taught me a new way to texas rig! Thank you. Senko the bait that almost never fails.
Good tips Gene. Thanks for your service form one cbm to another
love the heat shrink idea. Will be doing this. Thanks
Thanks for this. I’m definitely gonna try the heat shrink.
Very good tutorial. Thank you.
really great stuff for guys just starting out
Great video! I like how everyone has their own little nuances when it comes to rigging this and working the worm off the bottom
Exactly!
LOVE all the insight and tips, just started going after bass in lakes, more my life is smallies in the rivers..O.K. having fun catching fish, so senko's, and fitness stick baits are in my arsenal...Tight Lines
This was the tutorial I was looking for. Thanks
Thanks for the Tip Gene. I went straight on Amazon and ordered some 🎣👍
Great video as always Gene!!!! Thank you so much!!
Hey Gene, I love that you come back to stuff that you've done in the past. It's like as you realize new nuances to the rigs and baits you share them with us so our knowledge continues to evolve with you.
great techniques w/the senko. really enjoyed the video and grateful to add to my list of options on the water. especially enjoyed the deep texas rig style w/off set shooting that presentation at their face, i can see how it would triple my hookup ratio being further back in the body playing hooky from work for a few hours i'm so excited to try it out. Shhh. Tight lines!!
I just love your channel and your enthusiasm for fishing …thanks for all your videos I finally caught one on a Texas rig the other day felt so good lol
That tip at 12 min is genius!
Thanks for that.
Dude you just made my day with the heat shrink thing. Got some heat shrink on the way. Looks legit and can't wait to try this on this upcoming full moon.
Great video … covered all aspects . Thank you
Spent so much money on other lures and equipment for bass fishing, but Wacky rigging is still my top producer and go to when the bite is slow. Such a simple method yet effective!
Watched your video for the wacky rig technique. The clear heat shrink tubing is a brilliant idea! I make my own stick baits and mine are too wide for the 3/8 size tubing. Glad I ordered both 3/8 and 1/2 tubing.
Weightless Texas rigged has been my day saver so many times. I have the most luck with the Yum Dinger 4 in.
I love your genteel style.. If you're on a budget.. Ha! You mean, If you're poor.
Love the channel. It's been priceless on my journey to be a better fisherman.
Hey Dawg - you have the gift, for great teaching. I learned some new options for sure THANKS
Kale hooks are great for beginners to because they prevent gut hooking. Thanks for the content we appreciate you. God Bless
Using heat shrink! Genius idea !!! Wish I would have seen this before I bought the VMC crossover rings and pliers 😟 THANK YOU❣️
Great tips, awesome video. I just started trying out the googan lunker log 5' junebug on a vmc weedless
WOW!! I felt like I just returned from a hundred dollar fishing school!! I am a newbie, and I learned a heck of a lot! Thank you, Sir!!! NO ONE has put out the information as logically, and pictorially as you have done!! I will review this as many times as it takes to commit it to solid memory!! Only one question: What is a "Senko"? I will google the answer.
Its short for yamasenko, the brand name of the original senko worms. Kind of like kleenex and bandaid.
Thank you for the info/ video. Your kayak is a beast. Gotta get me one now.
Good info. It's amazing how Senkos will catch Bass consistently. I like the Yum Dingers as well.
Yum Dingers work very well and are more durable, and at third of the cost. It's all i use.
good tip for inexpensive sick bait collars, thanks
This was one of the first videos I watched when I got back into fishing about 2 years ago. I’ve probably caught the most fish on a senko. Many on this same combo as it was the first combo I bought. That reel is 💩, and has since been replaced, but that’s a great rod.
Also caught my PB on the KVD senko.
This video popped back up in my recommended and I had to comment and say thanks for helping me get back into bass fishing.
Agreed about Carolina Rig Senko. Destroyed the lake in WI last summer doing that.
Some good tips! Thank you, sir!
Yes! the heat shrink is the best and barely anyone uses it!
Just caught 4 bass today on a wacky rigged senko! Never fails!🎣🎣🎣🎣
I’ve actually been doing this method this year and it really has worked. My other baits can’t get arrested these days. Stick bait all the way. I AM going to try Carolina though for sure!!
Go get em Laura!
You got the tricks man. Great point on the hook angle
Thanks for the heat tube hack! ........Genius!
Great tips and I will try it the next time I go fishing thank you
Heat shrink is a great idea. Ingenious.
Really great info I am trying tomorrow morning. I like the hook rear that makes the worm fall away from you and where it lands. Cool idea. I'm kinda newbie to fishing correctly. I've been fishing since I was born pretty much. Michigan born, fished the whole lower Midwestern states when I was a child. Great Dad. 😊 Anyway, got into bass fishing when I moved to Fort Collins. Had no luck with any plastics at all. I really had to learn sencos and plastics in general. I liked bottom fishing for trout because it worked. 😂 I met a few guys that showed me how to do a stick bait correctly. But you really hit home with technique and that hook location. Game changer for me. I'm pretty good now but this could be next level for my landed numbers. Thank you. 😊
Love that hookset man. You don't kill them like the guys on tiktok. Literally made me sub seeing you knew how to set a hook.
thank you so much for the tips
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen. Thx
Great idea!
Great video!!!
Brilliant!!! Thanks Gene!!!!
If you take 2 o rings and put them in an x pattern you can keep the hook straight and you don't have to hook the senko
Exactly what I do. I have worms that have an offset center. Mix it up!
I used the heat shrink on the nose hook trick too
Great video! I’ve never fished wacky… ordering them now!
This is good information. thanks for putting this content out.
Thanks good stuff
dang!! I thought I came up with the shrink-wrap idea on my own. I was all ready to share it with my bass club.
Yessir weightless Texas rig is great for heavy brush low trees. I’ll dock shoot weightless Texas rig and have caught some nice size bass
Can't wait to try the heat shrink lol great idea. I'm knew to fishing fake bait so this will help a lot.
Love that Texas rig tip👍
We've had a ton of success lately fishing with the Wacky Rig (up until July). The only downside is our hook set failures.....so much fun though!
Tight lines, Master Baiters🤘🏻
Sweet thanks for the senko tips I have never Carolina rigged them
you’ve taught me so much man🤘🏽
I know this video is old but serious props for the heat shrink idea that’s amazing
Blue craw in the ocho is wicked good on Guntersville. Wacky rig thrown in the open pockets in the grass works great
Thanks Gene.
What a great video!
I know this is a old video. but it made a difference in my day. I did not fully commit to this bate but I am going out to try all these combination. Thank you
Are you from America?
Cool info thanks
Yes Gene!!! Love it! 👊👍
The pictures of the hooks were really helpful
Great video! But I feel the need to add one thing. When bass are super finicky, experiment with fall rates. If a cold front shuts them off, I throw a lite wire hook on straight braid to get that fall rate way as slow as possible
Thank you so much. This is the first fishing video I have found that gets right to the point and tells me what I want to know. The commentary was great and all topics were covered very well. Thanks again for a great no-nonsense fishing video.
Glad it was helpful!
Man it was awesome meeting you in Texas on i20 in traffic man. Awesome
Oh Ultra Super helpful video 😊
I love senko and it is really god blessed worm.
Thanks for share great know-hows 😊
wacky rig is now one of my most favorite techniques to fish for bass
Love your videos! I was just wondering if you could make a video or talk about the utility of a fish finder on a kayak. I find myself just casting to cover and beating the bank, which really doesn't require a fish finder. Thanks!
I bought some 3 inch yamamoto cinnamon brown senkos for a pond they just stocked bass in this year (was just catfish and trout before) Caught a like 10 inch rainbow trout with it wacky rigged 🤣 just hooked the worm about dead center but it still had decent action going down with 15 lb floro leader on 15 lb. braid. Was just popping it up with slack and letting it sink down
Good tip on the heat shrink for a wacky
Glad to help
Man that quarantine beard is tripping me out; great vid!
ND Yak Angler taught me the heat shrink trick too.
good stuff!! tnx👍👊
GO DAWGS!!!!!! I just subscribed as soon as I saw the hat, now lets watch the video. LOL
