Plastic worm fishing is practically all I use when bass are on their beds during spawning. Anytime I watch videos like this one always help me when using worms, when I watched this video it helps me pick up on what other anglers do. I learn from these types of videos, never too old to learn. I enjoyed this video very much and look forward to watching more of these on this website. The hook set portion is very important.
    Thank you,

I know some people aren't sold on soft plastics but they are really missing out. It has changed fishing for me. I've had the most success dragging worms along the bottom with a heavier weight (even using it to sight fish) and swimming a creature bait with a light weight to get a nice slow fall on the pauses. This is the best video I've come across on the topic; worth watching for any angler.

Have caught my fair share of fish just watching the line, it works! Especially if you’re fishing pads and cover with braid, you can see the braided line just take off! Then, as he said, cut the slack and set the hook. Works every time

Another really good vid. I'd offer a suggestion for bait casters-- place your hand on the reel so the line comes over the top of your index finger. There are 2 advantages:
    1. Line twitches can often be felt long before it makes down the rod to the hand on uber subtle strikes. I've put a number of fish in the boat from feeling the line before it's noticed by the rod
    2. That hand position helps to prevent accidentally bumping the line release on smaller frame reels (more of a me being clumsy style maybe but it def helps to prevent tapping the line release)

great video as usual. another reason not to wait till you feel the fish is when the bait pulls on the fish ,the fish will usually take a double bite ,where they let go to get a better bite because they feel like the bait is getting away from them and when they do that a lot of times you jerk the bait out of their mouth when they open up to get another bite

I have been doing the same thing (leave a slack just before setting the hook) for a different reason. I gave it slack so they don't feel the tug. I did this because I thought that they were just dropping the lure if they feel something. I figured letting them take it a little more allows the lure to go deeper down their mouth. At least that was my thought process.

These r probably the best techniques to use when fishing plastic worms. The only problem I run into is that my works often break easily so what I do is reinforce them with duct tape or any kind of tape. I tape a ring around It and hook it through the tape so when you pull on it, the tension is on the tape not the worm. Caught 36 bass on one before it broke. Good video I liked it

great tips! I can relate to having baits spit out when fishing heavy vegetation. now I know why. I was waiting until the line was tight before setting the hook. now I know to leave some slack. will implement this right away. thanks Glen!

On weightless worms, I use a bright colored braid with a fluorocarbon leader. It's easier to spot the braid doing something erratic when a bass picks it up mid water and starts swimming off with it.

I like the medium heavy fast action 7Ft rod that he uses. I went out and bought a rod with the same measurements.

Great video that would be perfect for any beginner out there. Always good to get a refresher as well. It reminded me to let the bait fall on semi-slack line.

Yeah I am a firm believer in hooksets being free. I like the information about the how to set the hook and that makes sense, however I wish the camera angle would have shown the rod position a little better. Great video. Keep em coming!

My current pb came on a 10" Berkley worm. When they don't seem to bite anything I reach for a worm. I also love swimming them on top over vegetation.

for some reason I've had more luck with a plastic on a jig head than with the texas rig...not sure why! I will try putting a bobberstopper and fishing with tungsten this year to see if that makes a difference.

Plastic worm is the bait I have the most confidence in. I fish plastic worm 80% of the time. In the video information about watching the line I find to most important. Any slight movement in the line could mean the difference in missing a bite. Also hook setting was very important too.

Another great video. Great information and techniques. Fishing a plastic lure should be second nature and easy; however, sometimes we need to be reminded of the basics. Of course, not all plastics are the same and fished the same, but ideas given in this video are a good refresher course. Thanks.

Thanks for another great video! The hook set information was a good refresher. I have great luck fishing big plastic baits like the Havoc Pit Boss and Missile D-Bomb all season long. As a bonus, T-rigging with plastics is an inexpensive way to fish.
