If someone tries to tell you a GT-R weighs more than 4000 pounds (the average stock GT-R is actually 3755), it’s because they don’t know how to read a door jamb sticker, which shows GVWR including the maximum passenger weight. The Plaid actually weighs 4775 pounds, which is 1020 pounds more 👍

Some lightweight super cars can beat the Tesla model S plaid which was the Huracan and GTR. It seems like the Tesla model S plaid batteries are fully charged but in the end both the Lamborghini and GTR managed to stomp it ) not literally) in the race.
@@aaronmiller5012 As long as any car can do a 9.1 or better in the 1.4 mile from a dig that car can beat a Plaid. In saying that, the plaid is fast but limited. You cannot make it go faster unless Tesla comes up with a software upgrade.
@@horsepowerClub not really true. only paper true. heavily modded ice cars are extremely unreliable the more hp you put into them and very hard to launch right. tesla runs consistent 9.2 all day all night hot cold humid rain(yes rain) prepped/unprepped surface etc. too many variables affect modded high hp ice cars that doesn't affect the plaid. both these gtr and lambo probably has less than a 50/50 chance they'll beat the plaid from a stand-still drag race IMO.

So refreshing to see a respectful Tesla owner who appreciates and compliments other cars. Awesome content!
Very satisfying races bro! Its was strangely pleasureable to see the plaid get dusted for a change!
Completely understandable when ur running with the Big Boys..I honestly thought they would need 1200-1400hp to give u a run....it was surprising...... 150 plus though for an unmodded sedan is still F ing incredible , theres Always someone faster as you know.
Yep, and since they are all considerably lighter (1000 lbs or more), they don’t even need as much HP to get the same result…
@@TeslaPlaidChannel Might have been a bit closer in a race from zero. Traction control seems like a big challenge that is overcome in a rolling race. Not to mention the 161 MPH speed limit.
@@THjorth Lol that's a bit presumptuous, I don't think anyone has suggested HP =/= HP. On the contrary, it seems like you might not be aware of what the torque speed curve in a 1-speed EV like the model S looks like if you think it's 1020 "all the time". Update: The Lambo won the event ($250) with a 167.38MPH run after I left…
Some of those hypercars have top speeds of 200mph or more. The Plaid doesn't have its top speed limiter removed yet and won't go over 160 mph and starts limiting torque by 150. It still did well but I think fair roll racing should wait for the Plaid to get its update which will allow 200 mph.
@@Tron-Jockey 163MPH is the current limit. (It hit 162 in that last pass.)

In 10 years time, Tesla will re-discover what the scientist Nikola Tesla himself discovered: The ability to extract unlimited or infinite amount of electricity from the surroundings, or maybe even everywhere in the universe. Some people call it Zero point, and some call it ambient energy. Nikola Tesla's invention is hidden underground inside a steel bunker because if it is re-discovered right now, many petroleum companies and the oil industry itself will collapse and that will be tragic to the economy (or maybe not because the money will not go to the Middle Eastern countries as payment for oil).
@@gerrycrisostomo6571 i honestly would think sometype of alternator thats always connected when the wheels move and charge the battery at the same time. only reason i dont see that happening is battery overheating with the discharge/ recharge all happening. meh who knows maybe im wrong and its possible and there just not doing it llool.

It’s Actually kind of weird
The tt lambo and gtr had well over1100 hp.... Here in Atlanta its common to see 2000hp gtrs at the track. Just by the numbers the plaid is 100% consistent and then i calculated from the pull the gtr had to have 1400 give or take.
The GTR possibly has a service life of 10,000 miles and the Tesla over a million miles before the battery capacity drops to 80%. Imagine the cost of rebuilding those Lambo and GTR engines every season.
GTR was probably spraying too
@@stanspb763 any combustion motor car has to have maintenance and tweaking here and there for the environment. And it is expensive. But that the fun of it. And even after 10 years and over 150k miles, no battery replacements are needed. That’s classic FUD.
@Robert Bryant … totally false. There are 300k+ mile cars out there. Either way, Tesla warranties the battery + Elec motors for 8 years.
@Robert Bryant You are seriously misinformed, the model S was released in 2012 and the only batteries replaced were due to physical damage not wearing out. Battery life is based on an 80% capacity compared to new. Many have 500,000 miles and still way above that 80%. Even at 80% the only thing that is impacted is miles per charge. Dr. Jeff Dahn's research team has tested the battery life to 80% to 2million miles and increasing.
You should know that the MSM media FUD generator lies about every topic its owners will make money on if they publish. The result is the American population is the most misinformed in the world and believing total nonsense about every issue and about every country on earth. Americans know almost nothing about the world that is true now. The threat of BEV hurts the profits of the oil and auto industries who spend more on lobbying than on research and innovation. Congratulations, you proved my thesis.
@Robert Bryant
Every car even close to the Tesla in time had more money spent on it just to reach that performance than the cost of a pack.
Most will probably need a major drivetrain overhaul LONG before the plaid needs batteries as well.
You must not know that his other Model S Performance has over 1,000 drag strip runs, and after that he is still running similar times after years of hard driving and racing. His real world example proves those degradation rumors false.
Cool!
How long is the distance covered? The rolling and then from the traffic light to the finish line?
I'm torn: The engine sound is cool, and is a bit missing when 2 Teslas are driving.

Man I’d die for a ride in a plaid, hopefully someday 🤞
Honest man, like for that!
Most people don’t know plaid has ~1,300 hp from raw motors but they locked electrical power from batteries to 1,020 hp. I think most people don’t know battery is a bottle neck of EV performance not electrical motors if battery technology is improved It would be able to have an enormous amount of horsepower easily.
Yep, true 👍
If you could haul a tractor trailor load of batteries ,lmao electric might make 4,000 hp like turbo cars make with just 1 engine and can still street drive also
The Tesla never ceases to amaze me in how fast that it is straight off the dealership lot with no changes. I'd really have liked to see you drag race those cars from a stop (especially the twin turbo Lamborghini) and see what the results would have been.
The Tesla seems to be a more consistent car than everything else at the track from what I've observed and might possibly be the perfect bracket racing car IMO.
The GTR and Lambo would probably easily get into the 8s. Considering they both are set up with good tires.
@@ajbucks I'd still like to see both those cars race the Tesla in a true drag race. I don't doubt that both cars are capable of faster times than the Tesla, but the Tesla just seems more consistent and easier to run a fast time in than comparable cars.
I'm amazed that the Tesla is able to consistently run the times and MPH that it does right off the dealership lot on real street tires capable of driving in any weather condition with nothing more than an adequate battery charge. The Tesla's also seem to run consistently between 9.20-9.50, just depending on the driver and battery charge, regardless of the weather, temperature, tire pressure, tire temperature or track conditions which to me is amazing compared to a traditional 9 second car
What dealership lot has Tesla Plaids sitting on them?

@@rdawgz866 totally agree, that was an awful run. He never let it rev out before changing. That car on those tyres with turbos and tune should be at 160. He needs a tesla, he might be able to drive that.
I can’t wait for things to be apple to apple. These two door sports cars vs a family wagon, they won’t know what hit them when the Tesla Roadster comes out.
ANd we know guys will come with 2500hp. There are some GTRs, R8s, Lambos out there with 3500hp. Of course those cars are all on slicks.
One disadvantage us Tesla folks have is the inability to modify for more hp. We can only reduce weight, add wheels, aero etc.
@Robert Bryant … hopefully one day there will be a space x package option (rocket boosters.) Thats when it’s game over.
@Andrew G I totally agree. It will be a blast watching the Roadster run against other cars. One thing about the Tesla’s, they run constant, something that a lot of the modified cars don’t always do.
The Tesla Roadster won't be much different from what you've seen here. Most likely it will have a better top speed due to the improved areo dynamics but there is a limit to what electric cars can do safely. Tesla still hasn't worked out top speeds beyond 160mph. What you should realistically expect from the roadster is improved handling from having a wider body and reduced weight.

Damn usually plaid owners I come across are super cocky but your a cool dude. Don’t hate on ice cars just doing ur thing
I want to see a race against a fast rotary
I love watching rotaries run: no matter how loud or ratty the car is it could run an 18 or an 8. Makes me miss my FB!
Maybe Brooks(from Drag Times) will build up his RX-7, and race Andrew.. but i doubt Brooks is going to go too radical with his new toy.
Plot twist: the McLaren was modified... modified to go slower.
Impressive that out of factory a car can be this fast, but to me is more impressive and makes me super happy to see that combustion still triumphs over electric.
That GTR (or lambo) needs to get lined up with the RC car. 😎
That GTR was a fair run, considering the same amount of power and torque, but it had slicks and was lighter, so it's an easy win.
that gtr has over 1200hp

👍 I’m always looking for the fastest cars to run with. On this night, I really found some!
That GTR is God Mode fast.
that lambo has like a 80~100k poured into the engine bay on top of the quarter million the lambo costs stock. and it still cant take the kids to school or do a costco run. same goes for the GTR. that just shows how good that plaid actually is...
But neither the Lamborghini nor GTR were built originally to take the kids to school. They're performance cars built for performance and sportiness.
copium :-p
@@stellaa1328 the GTR is a normal car from the factory. its a 5 seater daily driver originally.
@@SupremeRuleroftheWorld yes, I get that. But just by looking at its competitors, and the performance it can do. It's clear that that wasn't Nissans objective when building the GTR.
@@stellaa1328 the base car is a normal infinity Q50 family car wich you can buy at any nissan/infinity dealership for less then 40k.
Hey guys the plaid is running against drag strip ready cars. These can’t be driven daily so keep in mind when the highly modified vehicles run up against the tesla. Great races though
Its crazy that the plaid can come anywhere near those beasts. I have friend who built his gtr and is in the 200mph 1/2 mile club. Its unreal but I dont think many people realize how expensive those built cars are and just how tempermental they are (and how often they break)
Glad to see you were owned for once :)
The plaid is fast for sure but you met your match a few times. Good to see you were well mannered in defeat.
Im officially now a Tesla fan. This was the first time ever where I was angry that the Lambo and GTR beat the Plaid. I'd still take that Plaid over those other cars anyday.
You would take an electric car over a twin turbo Lambo?... ok
@@kevinanderson9752 a modified lambo that most likely requires constant maintenance and repairs that over the course of its lifetime that will cost more than what the lambo sold for stock? Yes.
I feel ya bro..., That's OK cause the Plaid is unmodified or stock family sedan while the Lambo and the GTR are highly modified. Let's wait until the Roadster 2 arrives, then we'll see...

For Roll-Racing there should be an acoustic signal inside the car or something to make it more even.
