  • If I Could Only Have ONE Benelli Semi-Auto Shotgun what would I choose? Today we answer that question in our most epic showdown yet. It's between the Benelli Montefeltro, M2, Super Black Eagle 3, and the Ethos Cordoba BE.S.T. I'm super excited about this video. We're using an all-new ranking system known as the "SOSA TEST" which stands for "Steve's Official Shotgun Analysis To Effectively Save Time." There are five categories ranking each gun from 1-10 and the numbers cant lie! Let's find out which Benelli I'd have if I could only have one!

I have an Ethos Upland. Love the gun! Your crazy man, but know your stuff. I have already purchased Carlson extended choke tubes for it, the Axil GS Extreme ear buds, started shooting clays at the range every week, and bought all the latest Otis cleaning products you have used on the channel. Came into the new generation of cleaning, the straight rods have been tossed. The Ethos is a machine at the range, adding the Carlson choke tubes have improved my shooting incredibly. Going to Kansas after thanksgiving to test it on some birds. Thinking about getting the 20 gauge 828U for quail in Arizona. Your review really perked my interest. So much so, I called Reeds and they gave me a really good price on it. Brown, in the gun department had nothing but positive feedback about you. Keep it up, love your channel!

Great Video. I own a Montrefeltro which my son's shoot regurlarly and loves. I was shooting the Ethos sport which is basically same as the BEST with the exception of having the AA wood and polished receiver. In addition it has the new progressive recoil pad which i have found outstanding and even my wife likes the lower recoil for a 12G. Hence my wife has semi adopted leaving me with my JEG special edition Beretta 687 SP3 Sport O/U which is just awesome...

Great video thanks for putting it out. My only input would be your not giving negative points for reliability( should be -.5 for each failure) With your winner you had the most hang fires or stove tops and if you are out hunting and that happenes it could mean the difference of success and getting skunked.

If the regular Montefeltro not the ultra Montefeltro came with a raised rib it would be perfect. The regular Montefeltro that holds four in the mag One in the chamber has a flat rib which makes it a little difficult to see down the rib versus a raised rib Benelli needs to change that.

I’ve had two Montes. One 12 ga and one 20 ga. Fantastic guns. I also have the Ethos. One of the best shooting shotguns I’ve ever shot and owned. Mine has never had a failure. Neither has my 20 ga Monte but the 12 ga did drop rounds out of the mag into the receiver when it wasn’t supposed to and it only had one failure to fire but I think it was because I outran the trigger once. There is a reason the Ethos costs so much. It’s worth it. I don’t know what happened to the one you had here but I’ve shot well over 10K rounds through mine. And it’s so easy to clean. You’re just basically wiping it down and running a snake through the barrel a couple of times. It’s that easy. Never had to scrub any part of the Ethos.

i'm currently trying to decide between the super Vinci x and the ethos, i'm really tore between which I should get, the ethos i'm looking at does have the wood furniture with the engraved nickel receiver, and the super Vinci x with waterfowl camo. i'm in love with the look of the ethos, I would be mainly using it for water fowl hunting, does anyone have experiences with both guns or even one of them that could help point me in the right direction? is the ethos in that variation to pretty to take waterfowl hunting? lol

I have had cycling issues with my gas operated Winchester,an Armsan and it’s replacement a beretta A391 and what I’ve found it was the brass part of the hulls which wasn’t sized right and not the gun and this would not allow the hull removal hook( haven’t checked to see what you call that on my beretta) from going fully up into the machined groove which would either make the striking pin not touch the primer or only just and the wad would barely make it out the barrel😳 so I dry cycle the full box through my guns b4 I go out hunting and if one fails this I put it through my over and under instead. With those shells that didn’t go off did you look into the issue at all?
    Cheers for the excellent content

Montefeltro is by far the best of rhe lot. You are biased against it because it is the oldest model of the four , the cheapest one and it has wood and not camo or plastic which is something you consider boring. Montefeltro my friend is the quintessential Benelli, an absolute beast reliability wise and a classic beauty .

Do you have a video of the lowest recoiling inertia gun? I found your browning comparison video and that helped me a lot but im torn between gas and inertia. I have buddies who own each and both love what they have. inertia's they like as we waterfowl hunt and they get muddy/dirty and have never failed. Gas of course a little heavier which i like and recoil less but maybe less reliable when dirty (sometimes the guns arent cleaned and get neglected between hunts). I am very torn lol I have two gas and two inertia picked out based off your videos which have been a huge help!

Hey Steve, I absolutely love and am very appreciative of what you do for the shooting community and I'm hoping you can shed some light on a topic regarding the negative poi of the Benelli SBE; in regard to shooting high and left, how does that happen if the gun is properly fitted and the shooter has proper alignment? I don't have this particular gun but have shot multiple shotguns and centerfires fairly well. In the military, I was qualified and held several marksmanship ribbons from .38 revolver through the 50 cal. Now to my question, if all the fundamentals are followed consistently, why would any new and properly functioning shotgun shoot anywhere other than where the shooter is focused on the target? Thanks!

Splitting hairs also styles as far as bird guns and trap. Also the police super 90 m1 or m2 was rated the fastest at one time I like your opinion though. I’m a heavy shell guys so I choose the SBE line, mine is a wood stock SBE 2. I also have a long neck so I like the raised rib with double bead, like the shot pattern and I shoot lights out with benelli Also very interchangeable parts, to include springs and stocks/mercury tubes to make almost every one fit your style of shooting. Wife has Ethos boy has the m2 which he graduated from the nova (I made into a super nova minus the trigger guard). Which now my daughter has due to the additional parts I feel made it shoot softer. Beretta and benelli are the same company.

The one thing I've noticed is if the gun is designed to chamber 2 3/4, 3 and 3 1/2 inch shells, it doesn't feel balanced well nor does it swing as well. It's basically weighted to fit every size of shell, not properly weighted for good balance.

  • @olegig5166
    @olegig5166 Před rokem +1

I really enjoy your videos and certainly agree with your shooting method focusing eyes on target thus my wish.
Im assuming you bench rest shoot every shotgun before you make video so you will know where it patterns.
My wish is that for every shotgun tested you also gave the pattern results.
Not the % of pellets in a given size circle, but the relation between POA with POI when the target is setting on top of the bead sighted straight down the rib.
Is this gun designed to shoot a 60/40, 50/50, or perhaps something else?
This seems to be a difficult fact to find with most manufacturers being very vague about their specs.
INMHO we need some standardization in this area.
I mean after all "If you can't see it, you can't hit it."

Bolt handle only comes off when rotating bolt head is all the way back.
Another trick with inertia guns is you can't pull back the bolt handle when the firing hammer is down and safety is off.

Problem is I had with my old sb2 was load it and carry it for 25 minutes and I reckon that walking and the inertia released and when I took off safety and went click, maybe the sling and walking broke action lose, now go to duck pond and load and sit, it shot awesome

I love this video. It would have been nice to see the Raffaello in the line up. In my country (Caribbean Tropics) we hunt small game similar to south american species as well as deer and peccary (quenk/wildpig) from camouflaged areas above the forest floor. Bird hunting is illegal here. Typically, 16 and 12 gauge shotguns are the preferred method used by hunting and RARELY Rifles. I am preferential to a Benneli 12 gauge semi-automatic and from watching your reviews and other research I just love the Cordoba BE.S.T. However, is there a better option you can recommend or the Cordoba would be the ideal? I've read where Benelli guns shoot a bit high, can you confirm? Thank you in advance for your response.
Can you please do a comparison between the Bennellis 12 gauge Cordoba BE.S.T and the Raffaelo semi-automatic.

Never was a huge fan of the newer benelli's. Still own a m1 super 90 in 24" and the Ultra Light in 26" and shooting the sbe 2 and 3 never made me want one. However it would be nice to disassemble the entire top of the receiver like the ethos and SBE 3.
