    Just ordered this today. Got one of the items off your links :)
    Thanks for all this work and videos. I really want to get into drones in general. More interested in FPV. This seems like a great start. Did order my soldering iron today as well. So only pushing myself to start ordering one of your building video kits soon.
    Keep up the great work!

    Great video Wiffles! I would like to learn the terminology so I could understand it more, but it looks fun

      Thank you random internet person. What terms don't you know?

    Nice. If this was multi module it would be the ultimate guerrilla tx

    As always, appreciate the teardown! I wonder how this compares to that Rotor Riot game controller for learning FPV thru simming(*). It's like $50 and has a phone holder, and works with iOS. But it isn't a TX, and only has game controller thumbsticks unlike the T8S gimbals. I kind of think someone who *knows* they want to fly physical quads should probably get a multi-protocol Jumper model as a starter, since it can handle PC sims and TinyHawks or whatever and is priced near enough to the T8S.
    (*) "simming" is a trademark of The FPV Show, and now I owe them a nickel.

      As far as I know the Rotor Riot controller is just a traditional gamepad. It doesn't have gimbals like an RC radio. Yes, for a bit more money I recommend a Jumper radio. While they don't have any gamepad style radios you do get a lot more functionality.

    hope radiolink get into the competition in transmitters. opentx multiprotocol, i love their systems but you're lock in to them.
    Great form factor, hope the advance settings is accessible via wifi and its open tx, hall sensor gimbal and a multiprotocol capability and has a module bay. My dream radio

      Yep, that's the way to go with this setup.

    I don't know if you're aware but betaflight can actually act as a Sim dongle if you connect it up to USB. I believe its called USB HID support in the wiki..

    • @whiffles
      @whiffles  Před 4 lety +1

      Yep, but that's not so user friendly for somebody just getting started on FPV. I tried several solutions and this one seemed the cheapest and easiest.

      Do you mean the Radiolink T8S is compatible to the betaflight pc Simulator over a USB cable?

    Hi. Can you tell if the left stick can be set to return to the middle position for RC cars with forward and reverse throttle? I'm asking it because RadioLink states that it can be used for surface vehicles as well. Thanks

      @bdwalker239 Před 4 lety +1

      It comes with a spring & bracket you can install to make the left stick self-center in the up-down axis.

    Hey, I can't seem to get this set up to work at all on my PC or Android. I wanna play sims but I think I gotta be missing something here. Are there drivers or something that should be installed before playing sims??

    Is there a way you can make/fix the left side gimbal back to the neutral position like the right side?

    • @whiffles
      @whiffles  Před 4 lety

      You want to switch it from mode 2 to mode 1? I believe you can just switch the spring and the tension bar.

      @viauyeung Před 4 lety

      @@whifflesI got it fix, there's an addon plastic piece & a tiny spring come along with the controller, I make both side gimbal can swing back to center/neutral position now, my next upgrade would be the gimbal stick end. Any suggestions where I can find a round steel ball gimbal stick end?

    Hi, what about model memories ? Thas ir have?

    • @whiffles
      @whiffles  Před 4 lety

      I do not believe it does. I didn't look closely at the app, but I don't recall seeing anything about models. You can pause for each screen to see exactly what all the settings are.
