  • Abandoned Burger King - Parma, OH. In the video you hear say that we are in Cleveland... Parma is a suburb of the city. This particular location was subject to flooding which is why this place ultimately closed. Other nearby businesses were also affected at the time but had since reopened. Burger King chose not to reopen this one and therefore it sits abandoned.

The room off the main dining room was probably a "non-smoking" area, at a time when smoking was still allowed in restaurants in Ohio. After public smoking was outlawed, it became a party room.

There was a 2 story modern lodge style Burger King, with a running fireplace in the foyer/dining room.near Levittown PA. (80's)
It had to be experienced to feel how Beautifulit it was. Warm honey oak wood. ... Great Design!

Funny enough I've actually been sitting on a video of this place for a long time, this area of Cleveland which is actually Brooklyn, is definitely known for flooding, Sam's Club flooded back in 2011, hence why the Sam's Club in the area got remodeled. The Raising Cane's used to be a Perkins that burned down to a fire. It's a very interesting area, good video! I know for other abandoned Burger Kings in the area, there is one in Willoughby Hills, which has a gray look to it, there's also one in Maple Heights that is completely boarded up, but underneath the door has the old Burger King logo, and I think there's a couple more, but I just can't remember most of them on my mind. I do also know there's one in Huron that used to have a Play Place

Hi Wallie. You’re in my neck of the woods. That area is prone to flooding. Its always flooded there, but the past few years it seems to have gotten worse. Walmart and Sam’s Club too really take a beating. Just a ton of water. It’s pretty amazing. I didn’t know that BK didn’t reopen though. Good stuff.

  • @ThomasC-Crazy4NiagaraFalls

That area is built on the floodplain of Big Creek. Big Creek is normally a smaller gently flowing creek, but with a torrential downpour, it lives up to it’s name. The cities of Brooklyn and Parma and the county have tried for decades to remedy the situation. Compare these Google map images and you can see the retention basin they built in front of Walmart. goo.gl/maps/4vMhJENUqya33rH76 vs goo.gl/maps/1vsFv5D1q8a39LVD9 It helped a little but you can’t control Mother Nature and flooding still occurs several times a year. That Sam’s Club was originally built as a Makro Warehouse Club in the mid 1980’s and that was one of my first jobs. In this map image you can see how ridiculously close to the creek they built the building. goo.gl/maps/eNsj5F9oGC9QF1pE8 That Burger King was originally built as a Burger King, probably in the 1990’s and has always been a Burger King. I was sad to see it close.

Big Creek runs between Walmart and Sam's Club. During heavy rains, the Walmart parking lot, as well as nearby Brookpark Road and Big Creek Parkway, would flood big time., There have been at least a few occasions where Walmart or Sam's Club would temporarily close due to flooding, but the stores would quickly reopen once the flood waters recede and the floors are mopped.

And yes, throughout all the pandemic last year your silly antics in these videos really helped take my mind off the doom and gloom of everything, so thanks for that! Things are starting to improve a good bit, so here's to hoping that by either year's end or by next year that things start to look a little more normal again to the tune of not having to wear masks and stuff anymore...

Pretty much every Burger King restaurant in Cleveland is abandoned. There's maybe less than 10 that are still open.

The other closed Burger King is in nearby Linndale, at Memphis Ave. and Bellaire Road. It became a "hookah" parlor, but I think it's vacant again.
