In all honesty, in the past, at least appearancewise, Brabus turned AMGs into what AMGs looks like now. Older AMGs were far more subtle in appearance.

Hey Humphrey, I know, that this might sound very special, but there is an awkward, little devision by former GM daughter Opel in Germany called Opel Performance Center. As Opel was sold to the French PSA group they are cancelling the OPC program.
I drive one of them myself, and they are lovely, fast cars. Why don't you make a episode on the OPC? I know, it's not known in the US, but it's tragic for European petrolheads and your research is so lovely and detailed - it would be worth noticing.

That was almost my favorite part of his videos because it was so straight forward and unapologetic, and an idea I think everyone has had.

As of today, I have seen all the "Up to Speed" segments, and I just discovered this channel (and subscribed) four days ago. James' storytelling is incredibly entertaining and the actual content is great. I watch the entire videos from beginning to end (skipping ads) and I rarely do that unless it's MKBHD. Good stuff Donut Media, keep em coming.

My dad owns a 2004 sl350 brabus and man is it fast with a 0-60 of 4.6 seconds is shifts like crazy. It’s got 300+ horsepower with a screaming supercharger pushing out 7 PSI of boost, and the extras and fine leathers are no joke

Brabus are based in the town of Bottrop. Near where I live. As a kid I could go over there and go into their showroom and carpark to look at all the cars there. I saw my first (and so far only) Enzo Ferrari there for example. They also always let me take a ton of brochures of all the models with all the trim options laid out in them, even though I was a kid who just stepped out of a '15 year old Opel Astra who clearly never stood a chance of actually buying one. I really appreciate a company for doing that. Imagine the kind of customer that could have come in...

Brabus even tune vans! I've worked on a 2014 brabus Vito "sport x" 220cdi 3l V6... In a frickin vaaaan. The tyres, 245/35 R18! The rims were incredibly light, the seats had crosshatch stitching, torque on tap. All this for a van

Funny that we remember Brabus as big engine tuner while in the 90s he made a lightweight 190E in the spirit of Porsche RS. Brabus 3.6S Lightweight look it up.

right next to the Autobahn was not the point, the old shop also was right next to the Autobahn, in fact the new building was just on the other side of the road coz it was a free piece of land where he could build his new facility from scratch including a big parking lot to store his cars.
And btw this concept of working for passion and not for money was especially important for his employees. I applied there for a job and he was not even willing to pay the minimum wage.
Luckily the Ruhrgebiet (area in Germany where Brabus is located) was kind of the hot spot for car tuning companies at the time, so it was fairly easy to find a job at another facility who paid their employees well, and they even had a race team which Brabus never had.
