Hopefully all of these lovely comments show you the huge appreciation we all have of your hard video editing work. It’s all very much worth it, thanks!
Thanks cool dude.
These vids are a joy.
Thanks dude.
Thank you for making these. They are little gems.
Nice one.
Isn't it your birthday today? Happy Birthday! Good thing you got to try out your new umbrella right away that's a great present.
Here's to an even better June! 🎉
Thanks cool dude.
Are there any copies left of the book?
Great to see your book giing to those libraries.
I am a good samaritan
For me, part of the joy of getting the Isle of Wight ferry is waiting for the dawn chorus of car alarms. It's almost relaxing.
Almost.
Thank you for your hard work. Very enjoyable.
Thanks cool dude.
I went for a walk today around Bembridge and it was lovely, I've also started sketching whilst out, I haven't sketched in years but I'm loving it. My sketches are crap but I'm enjoying them so thanks cool dude Marek 👍
Yes, my sketchbook has become one of my favourite things. The more sketches you put in it the more value it has. Hope you carry on.
@@marekl definitely carrying on 👍
I heard Marek recommend it in a podcast, so I tried it. My sketches are a mess but there’s something soulful about doing them.
@@JeffOnWire absolutely, doesn't matter as long as you get something out of it 👍
Beautiful views. Your sketches are getting better and better. The crowds would have been too much for me too. Will you tell us when you find the beautiful world?
Next month. Ha
I always enjoy catching up with what you’ve been doing at the end of the month. Please keep on doing these.
Thanks cool dude.
marek im glad that at the end of the month i get to watch these videos. Please dont stop.
We will see how it goes. I will try to do the year.
Loved hearing your return to the beef and dairy podcast this month!
Thanks is was very good fun.
I know it takes heaps of time and energy to pull together your videos, but I really do appreciate your work. I learn lots about your country and you've put me onto some interesting reads. Stay cool Marek.
Thanks cool dude.
Beautiful walks. Good for you giving up on the book. I decided years ago that life was too short, and there were too many books I wanted to read, to stick with anything that seemed like a slog.
I agree with you. I normally have a 75 page rule.
Thank you Marek, it was great to hear about what you have been up to in May. Looks like you were lucky with the weather. Hope you have a great June!
I wasn't that lucky!
The umbrella - Genius. The video - Thanks for slways making me smile. You are a ray of sunshine. Stay Cool 😎
This is the first time I have ever been called a ray of sunshine. I am pleased.
Cool sea eagle. Cool umbrella. #StayCool
Correct on both.
I think that was the best vlog you've done by far. Beautiful landscapes, and so relaxing to watch. We went to a chalk pit near Wendover today to see some of our native orchids. They wete there in their thousand and are breathtaking to see. Sharing these vlogs with us all is a real effort on your part and very well done. Happy birthday, love the umbrella! Keep being a cool dude.😂
Thanks cool dude. Those wild orchids sound excellent.
This video was the perfect end to my day. That umbrella is brilliant. And this is going to sound totally ridiculous, but a dozen years ago I saw the documentary “Man on Wire” at the E-Street Cinema, and there is a moment in the film where Philippe Petit steps onto the high wire and gymnopédie no. 1 starts playing and it completely grabbed me. And ever since then, when I hear that music in a film (it shows up in short films occasionally because it’s an easy mood shifter) it irritates, because in my mind that music belongs to that moment in that film and no one else may use it. Purely one of those uncontrollable emotional things-the rational mind springs into action and talks me down. Only one exception in all this time-when it comes on in Marek’s videos, I’m cool with it. Weird. Not as weird as that umbrella, but up there.
I wrote Gymnopedie No.1 so technically 'Man on a Wire' stole it from me.
You know what else is weird. I too am also currently not reading the brothers karazimsov
Really enjoyed that film..your art is brilliant 😊 see ya soon 😁
Yes I will come and see you soon cool dude.
Loved seeing your dad. 😊
He is the coolest of dudes.
Just stumbled on this vid. Delightful ! I have now subscribed & am going to enjoy watching all your output. 👍🏻
It might take you about a year. There is also the Cool Dudes Walking Club channel: czcams.com/users/CoolDudesWalkingClub
Many happy returns for this month, Marek! 🙂
Thanks Olly.
You were great on May's Beef and Dairy. Hope Barry gets to realise his dream some day of growing steaks on the backs of young people who've failed their GCSEs 😆
I stand by Barry Mizon's excellent beef back plans.
I very much look forward to your monthly videos marek. I find them inspiring! You’re a funny fellow too! Happy birthday 🎂
Thanks cool dude.
A friend told me he spotted myself and my company’s Captain America at the Bembridge Street Fair in your video, and there we are! Was a cracking event, thanks for the little feature!
You both looked super. I hope you enjoyed it.
Wow, you have been such a busy boris this month. I absolutely love the hands-free umbrella-ella.
I love it too. I asked for the silver one for UV protection.
Always a highlight of the month seeing what you’ve been up to
Nice one cool dude.
Nice one.
Stay cool, Dude.
Thanks cool dude.
What a great month! Heres to a brilliant June! I love the umbrella and need one urgently even if I look like a big old loser - i'll be a dry big old loser!
I love the umbrella!
Wow how pretty is Clovelly!
The umbrella had me chuckling
I spent about an hour making a 14-second reel of my May sketchbook, so I can't imagine your editing hours for CZcams's most finely-crafted walking videos
Perfect when it's chuckling it down?
I have been enjoying your reels. It sounds like you are about to slip into the editing abyss.
Such an epic video and was so so so chuffed to see myself... keep up the good work 👏 all the best from the bloke with bad breath 😂😅 5:23
Excellent work cool dude. The perfect end to the video.
Your hours & hours editing are very much appreciated Marek 👍🏻
I've never been sure if I liked brightly painted houses, but those neighbours (3:10) all joining in looked great.
My favourite shape is a star (if it's not weird for a grown adult to have a favourite shape) so I'm jealous of that tombola win!
If the socks are snug, cut the toes off and make them into leg warmers for the winter months 😉🥳
A star is a good shape. I agree about the houses. You need to get everyone on the street to sign up to it.
Life is indeed weird! Funny enough we were walking Instow, Appledore etc on the SWCP in April, so another month another time, our paths may have crossed...
Maybe you are me in the future, or I am you a month behind.
Brilliant. Highly recommend Appledore in Sussex if you ever get a chance. Great walks along the smuggling routes to Rye with some great ghost stories.
That does sound cool. I need to go back to Sussex.
I was a dry, and not needing a jacket, non-sweaty loser when I first used my own hands free umbrella set up in Scotland last summer. Came in handy quite a few times, unless there was wind about. Tbh I don't think I'd have tried it if I hadn't seen some big names in the American thru-hiking world do it. You looked cool with your set up and so did I, is what I'm telling myself 👍.
I am going to start a cool umbrella club.
Funny thing is you passed the cruise ship Iona as you got into Southampton, and it is on the Iona that I am now replying, just sailing out of Stavenga (I think that is how it is spelt, if not apols) in Norway.
Have a good month Marek and all.
Wow. Have a great time cool dude.
Love the vibes
england looks gorgeous!
Marek you are an absolute tonic, can't help smiling when I watch your videos. You live in a beautiful part of the world, only been to the I of W once but loved it, keep on showing us your walks wherever they may be. The only problem is I can't stop the images of you wearing a horses head and getting terrible abuse off Greg Davies out of my mind! Best Wishes, stay cool.
Thanks cool dude. I have now recovered from the horse trauma.
Late watching this one so belated Happy Birthday Marek!🎂🎈Did you pop up to Morwenstow (just past Clovelly) to visit Rev Hawker's Hut? Stunning scenery up there. It was such a good idea to vlog your monthly meanderings. Really enjoying the crossover from C.D.W to Marek's diary of doing a bit of everything from sea eagling to drawing & umbrella hands free contraptions🌂☂☔! Hope June is just as entertaining for you x J x
Thanks Judy. Didn't get a chance to go to Morwenstow sadly. Maybe next time.
Great video😊
Thank you
Congratulations on surviving the clovelly hill! I hope you made it along to spekes mills from hartland :) beautiful walk!!
I only had time to go there with my parents in the car sadly.
A gentle soul.
Indeed. In a world that seems to reward bluster, under-handedness and empty ambition, people like Marek make me think that there's hope for humanity yet.
On may 4th I went for a walk around your beautiful island at 530am on the 5th I’d completed it for the 5th consecutive year 😉
Well done cool dude.
There is nothing uncool about practical, and that umbrella looked pretty practical to me
Also I got the silver one for UV protection.
The Bembridge Street Fayre was crazy, so many people, my other half said you would be wandering around somewhere. Keep up the great videos Marek!!
It was way to busy for me!
I forgot to stay cool today and I've been in a shame well 😢
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU. STAY COOL!
Very exciting May Mr Marek.
You're exciting
Congrats on the tombola Marek, nice winnings!
My Mum has already said that she better not get those socks for Christmas.
@@marekl I’m sure Rowan would appreciate them! 😅👍
Thank you. This is exactly what I needed ❤
Nice one cool dude.
Thank you! What lovely views and walks, so calming to watch. Had a pretty horrific May with my health so thanks for the good luck for June, hope you have a fantastic month ahead.
Hope you have a better June cool dude.
Thanks for sharing some beauty with us, what a great way to start my morning. I adore the coast and those fishing villages are breathtakingly beautiful to me. Also, don't poo poo that Nivea lip balm, it's the best!
Maybe I'll give that to my Mum for Christmas too.
Dear Marek, I have been watching for ages, interesting about the agency's requesting your books, ill keep a lookout for you on the island, especially Bembridge & say hello if i do but you do get around elsewhere don't you.
Nice one cool dude.
Man like Marek never fails to deliver, real g
You think thats wierd, I used to work at Jonh Lewis store in Windsor called Cayleys its was small store and was being closed down, it got really quiet so I started reading books while doing my shift. I was reading Beyond Black by Hilary Mantel and as I'm reading It, the main characterr walks into Cayleys in Windsor! A month later the store closes never to open again.
That is very weird cool dude.
Clovelly was used as a film set for the film The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie society to replicate St Peter Port in Guernsey . That's how i discovered your channel Cool Dudes looking up the Island and your Guernsey walk came up pretty weird rignt ? stay cool .
Ahhhh. My B&B host in Guernsey told me they filmed most of it elsewhere.
Once again, love these vids so much!
NIce one cool dude.
I look forward to these videos mate, all the best for June!
Thanks dude.
Keep up the good work dude!
Thanks
Thanks cool dude. I will put it into my walking fund.
Where do we get the merch. Especially the Wangbuster mugs?😍
No mugs, just badges and stickers - cooldudeswalkingclub.com
What a lovely looking May!
Jude genuinely thinks I love all green cars. He has a toy jaguar xjs in green and I once told him it was 'my favourite' and now he'll point at any green car he sees and says 'mummy's favorite!', so the random strangers who hear him must think I really love ford fiestas, or whatever commonly owned car he's pointing at 😆
P.s handsfree umbrella is genius. I really feel umbrella design is long overdue a rethink/improvement, they are so flawed yet seem to persist as a 'practical solution' despite being so impractical most of the time.
Yesterday I watched the Hal Hartley film Surviving Desire (1991), it features a college professor who fixates upon a passage from The Brothers Karamazov.
Thanks for another lovely video, cool dude,
It is odd how the same things pop up. I once saw Roland Gift, (lead singer of the Fine Young Cannibals) three times in the space of a week in completely different areas of London. That was 25 years ago. Haven't seen him since.
You play the guitar and piano wonderfully.
Ummmmm
thanks, the book looks very cool
Which one?
Something tells me that umbrella is going to get a lot of use!
I think I got it a year too late.
Thank you for sharing Marek.
Always look forward to these, I've been abit ill recently and been watching alot of your back catalogue of late (on both channels) and have been thoroughly entertained, so thank you for them too and making me feel a little better.
I would love to be a member and support you, but sadly my financial situation at the moment is... not brilliant, so can only show my appreciation in comments (for now)
Sincerely, thank you for the videos, they are excellent Cool Dude,
Oh, and your sketches are awesome too!
And Life sure is weird alright.
Take care
All the best
D & B 👍
Thanks for your kind words cool dude.
I remember my first time catching the ferry to the IoW. I put the big yellow lock on the steering wheel. It was only when I struggled taking it off when docking that I realised that no one could have nicked the car on board the ferry. That was the trouble with living in an inner city environment where it was done on instinct. This was over 20 years ago and I had had a couple of cars stolen previously.
That would have been incredibly unlucky to have your car stolen on a the ferry.
My response in realtime. 6am on a Saturday? Bucolic. Duck. Stickers! You write very tidy. I like the umbrella - very practical. Walks look very lovely, you escaped the island. The handsfree umbrella works! Ace sketch. It's a bit The Prisoner isn't it? The hat is a ... look. Clovely is like a UK version of Nice but with, like an extra letter on a happy word like Fnice. Was you in a Marvel movie? Congrats on the raffle.
My writing in capitals is one thousand times neater than normal writing.
@@marekl well, my writing is much better when I use a marker pen on a whiteboard or Flipchart. Not entirely sure what's going on there, maybe because I have to slow down.
Cool but i still want marek to make another meal of it video or i will ascend into a galactic mass and , if that happens, i could get hit by a meteorite and thats no fun for anybody
That is done I am afraid.
@@marekl oh well it was fun while it lasted have a good night mate
This felt like a Cool Dudes Walking Club video. Yoy should check that channel out. The boy whom hosts it looks a little bit like you. Clearly you're more handsome
Thanks cool dude. I am glad I am better looking than that walking prick.
Clovelly looks... Lovely!
Bit too steep though.
Crime and Punishment is a good read although the ending is rather unsatisfactory . Missing the Island almost 4 months since I was last there 😔
I read about 20 years ago and thought it was good. Can't remember much about it though. Ha.
@@marekl He did it because he could 👎🏻
it's a slow slippery slide from backpack umbrella to buying a long handled toenail cutter in a sunday supplement magazine, you my padwan have started that journey...may it bring you many arthritis cures and compression socks on the journey to knick knack enlightenment...be safe, be cool (in a patented breathable hat with fan)
Where can you get the long handled toe nail cutter?
As well as your book recommendations have you thought about recommending a song or podcast for the month as I guessing up spend a lot of time listening to things during the travel between walks
I don't really listen to podcasts so much cool dude. I am more of a film soundtrack person.
@@marekl Have you seen the The Big Blue (Le grand bleu), released in 1988? It's no Citizen Kane I grant you but the soundtrack is something very special to me. It's very of its time (in a good way, IMO). The composer, Eric Serra, ended up touring it live 25 years later, such was its impact. Worth having a listen, especially after having watched the film and knowing the meaning of the pieces. Walk on, cool dude.
wow that's a really cool and interesting coincidence that the book was in the book, what are the chances?!
7-1
1:36 that is the answer to my prayers! What's the brand? Hope you had a lovely birthday!
Thank you. www.euroschirm.com/en/Trekking-umbrella-Swing-handsfree-silver-UV-protection-50/W2H6SI17
All hail Captain America and all his attachments to the history of the Island, as Captain Wight you should have challenged him,(oh Captain Wight might be a problematic name if you say it out loud)
Yes it could definitely be misinterpreted.
On the plus side, the sea eagle will never attack you as he/she will be too cool to go anywhere near your backpack brolly🤣
Don't disrespect my Euroschirm.
Top guy marek and funnier than greg
Best month so far... was Clovelly lovely?
Feels like it rhymes.😄
It doesn't cool dude.
Hey Marek…do you prefer the Yarmouth or Fishface crossing?
Probably Fishbourne as it is nearer.
Probably best you don't show Sunglasses Marek that umbrella.
He will destroy me.
That pic of your dad has me concerned. Is he a full hand crisp eater? I spotted one in the wild yesterday - on a train. The hand that delivers the crisps to the mouth is forced a significant way into the mouth before crisp release. Just wrong. PS, lovely scenes. CD#123
I think it was crumbs at the end of the packet.
now, was the sally rooney book good?
I will tell you in the next monthly instalment.
Marek, do you believe in Amor Fati?
Duckduck!
Third.
Marek what's your opinion on Wagtails? Personally I fucking hate them, annoying to look at.
Ha ha. I once had to sing a song about one called 'Little Trotty Wagtail' for a school singing competition when I was about six. If you listen to that you will hate them even more.
Ah lovely Appledore! I had many happy childhood holidays spent on Crow Beach opposite.
Have you read 'Girl, Woman, Other' by @BernardineEvari? Highly recommend
#staycool
I will add it to my list cool dude. Thank you
