The themes and deadlines are as follows:
1. Aliens & UFO's (sub. deadline June 21st '24)
2. Urban Decay (sub. deadline Aug 21st '24)
3. Horror (sub. deadline October 28th '24)

I definitely had to sign an NDA before being pre-briefed on the Wangbuster, they're very strict about that.

little known factoids are Wangbuster 4000 is basically the Knobkon 5100 rebranded and the 4000 model shown shoots images straight into your retina without storing anything on memory cards

I held out for the legendary wangbuster 4000s with it's patent pentagraph wiper system , paired with the SH 1t 55mm kit lens and full 360 rotating lens cap. Read it and weep people....

Every camera on their page is out of stock except for brown, which is the crappiest of colours.
Perfect. I think it is updated pretty regularly and more come in.
Looking now at 17:45 CET on Sunday, 24 March, there are also Black and Forest Green in stock. I suppose they also pass as crappy colours, depending on one's diet. 😅
They'll be back in stock very soon; it seems to be a thing they do for some reason. Good luck finding one for £50 though! Word of Crap Camera Club must have got out...

Marek it always amazes me you don't have 10 times more subscribers and viewers on your channel your content and humor are always excellent. For years I walked around with a point-and-shoot camera in my pocket and took tons of photos I even started using an old pocket point-and-shoot tiny Canon S 100 to make my CZcams videos but the lens extension kept breaking so I switched to using a phone and now I never take photos. I looked at the camp photo website and here in the US the cameras are $65 I am thinking I'm going to buy a cheap used $65 camera on eBay instead of the official camp camera I realize that will not give me club membership or even more importantly club privileges and glamour and notoriety but I still think it will Get Me Out making more and shooting more photos like I used to I'm not too worried about using the screen because I'm an old geezer and I always like to use a viewfinder anyway I think I'm going to buy a cheap 10 year old Olympus tough TG model camera for 50 bucks that is waterproof and only has one button to keep in the spirit of the club I could put tape over the screen thanks again Marek onward and upward
Nice one Robb. I try to always carry a camera around with me to capture stuff, but I think if I have an expensive one I always worry about it getting nicked or broken, so a cheap one is a great idea. I am determined to put my photos into a photobook this year rather than just leave them on my computer.

Would it be possible to open this up to include other basic cameras that we already have in our stash or can buy cheaply second hand?
I can't justify spending nearly £70* on this particular camera but I would love to join in with the challenges.

I'm embarrassed that I heard the intro piano and thought "oh wow, his piano has really improved". No shade, I've watched your CDWC vids and observed your piano progress which is much more than my own (non-existent) learning curve). I like the sound of this excellent camera. Can I just check: is the requirement for this specific club that we have the camera suggested, or can we use other cameras that are either film or other versions that prevent you seeing what you're taking? I ask because I'm poor, and have a number of v old inherited film cameras that may still work(ish) but have zero experience in photography or film exposure so can guarantee a high crap score on any output.
Hello Cool Dude. The group is really just for the Camp Snap Camera as I wanted everyone to be equal. I have explained in more detail on the facebook page. I appreciate it is a big outlay but it's the cheapest basic fun one I could find on the internet. There will be a category for unofficial cameras where I'll show a couple of the photos.
Hopefully the Camp Snap Cameras will start appearing on eBay soon. Stay cool

I think it is the same Guardian Angel for everyone. He doesn't appear very often.
Very funny. And I'm almost tempted, as a not very photographicy sort of peep, to buy a camera for the crap club, that isn't itself crap, but might be cheap. The camera, not the club. You could be onto something Marek.
ps. I had to pause the vid and came back to a frame of you that would actually be a good shot for The Demonic Camera Club. I photo'd it. Bloody Scary Marek would scare the Bejesus out of Sunglasses Marek.
You should check out the Simple Use camera from Lomography. Even cheaper and it's basically just a refillable disposable camera. Gets great results honestly.
Just ordered a forest green one which will provide excellent camouflage when hunting those aliens

I believe everyone should start their photographic journey with a basic, no frills camera. Any camera is only as good as the photographer.
Better still, start with film. Though in fairness, these days that will cost you more than the Wangbuster and likely shred your nerves to pieces with the anticipation of waiting for processing.

Sooo… just to clarify, one can only join the ‘Crap Camera Club’ if they purchase the Camp Snap? Just a little confused as you said after you might show some ‘unofficial’ submission.
Before discovering this brilliant vid, I’d recently purchased a very basic digital camera that is reassuringly inexpensive (the same price as a Camp Snap in fact). It’s from that well known purist brand ‘CamKing’ and it says on the top it’s full HD… or, should I say ‘Fulli HD’ as the artisan makers have spelt it.
Can I still play? (albeit unofficially).
I would like a Wangbuster 4000 but need somebody to lens me the money. I'm not getting off my SLRse and doing work for it. I should shutter up and stop talking tripe(od).

What are the rules on post processing in lightroom and photoshop?
Yes you are allowed to edit the photos in lightroom. I think you can't add Aliens or UFO's in you have to try and make those - I used a button and thread for one of mine and edited out the thread.
I am totally doing this. NZ is full of Aliens, urban decay and horror. I am pretty sure our new Prime Minster is an Alien, sorry I mean Evangelical Christian. $128 NZ dollars delivered for this camera for any Kiwis joining in. And I may also use this club as an opportunity for Pigeon propaganda. Maybe I should start a rival club called "Perfect Pictures of Pigeons".
The cameras have been programmed to self combust if they take pictures of pigeons.
Now I also want to see the Wangbuster 4000 unboxing video. I have the Grutboy 700 and looking to upgrade.
The Grotboy 700 sounds like a great piece of kit.

I currently cannot afford an official crap camera. But I do own a 20 year old digital camera that is very obsolete and quite crap by today's standards. It wasn't all that flash during the digotal camera heyday. Would that be an acceptable camera for crap camera club? I need to know if I must venture into the Man Box of Many Cords.

Am I being thick… if we’re all using the same camera, why do we have to say which camera we used? Or do we not have to use the Camp Snap camera and we can use whatever we have to hand?
I will show the best photos from the Camp Snap Camera, and maybe a couple of unofficial ones from people who don't have it. I did not want people to feel left out who could not afford it.

The camera I use wasn’t crap in the 80s and 90s. And there are arguments to be made that it isn’t now, as it has modern features strapped to old technology.
I use some of the modern Polaroids.
Better in many ways, worse in others.
Better: Timer, Exposure modes, Manual controls on some models via Bluetooth and Smartphone.
Worse: Environmental regulations meant a chemistry change - leads to fewer frames per film pack, and slightly worse exposures.
Club should be called 'Hipster photography repackaged'
