    I agree with you that the shock absorbers are a bit hard especially compared to the system on my BMW, but I can deal with it, but the ones on my BMW are much more on the comfortable side, but this is a Guzzi , it stands not for total comfort but 100% Percent for pure Passion and Character.

      Hi Walter! Yes, you are right. I am being a bit too harsh on the Guzzi. I wish, though, that it offered the same comfort as the BMW, especially the R nineT, which has been on my mind lately :). Thanks for leaving feedback, brother from Germany!

    Hi there, I own since a few weeks the predecessor of your bike, a 2016 v 7 ii Special and I really like it. I like the agility of it, how it handles in Corners and last but not least the fantastic Sound of the v twin, it is Guzzi pure and also a perfect addition to my 1999er BMW R 850 R.I wish you fun and safe rides with this stunning Guzzi and nice Greetings from Germany to you.

    The trick for finding neutral on these bikes is to trust your leg's muscle memory instead of the light on the dash. Whatever sensor MG uses to detect gear position is just not accurate. Once you've had the bike a while, you can distinctly feel when it is in neutral rather than second. Even if the green light doesn't come on, it is in neutral.

    • @ReluctantBikerNYC

      True! After a while, it actually became easier to find the neutral.

    Thank you for an honest and informed review. I own a 2017 v7iii stone (green) and now have over 12,000 trouble free miles. In my opinion, it is wonderful machine. I agree that it would benefit from a better suspension and more comfortable seat. I would recommend AF1 Racing for a nice selection of upgrades at reasonable prices. I would also recommend Bridgestone Battlax tires. Enjoy your bike.

      Thanks for sharing, Chris. I appreciate your feedback. In green? I actually made an offer on a green Guzzi to someone here in NYC, but he ultimately decided to keep it. I like the color and it goes very well with the matt black. Yes, I am familiar with the AF1 Racing, for I ordered something from them regarding my bar-end mirrors. Thanks. As far as tires are concerned, I am going to wait until the Demon ones get used up, and then I definitely plan to change them. I am planning to go on a 1500-2000 mile trip soon, so that might be the end of them. Thanks for your wishes and enjoy this summer. Be well and ride safely.

  • @jean-francoisauger9912

    Nice honest review! I have the same in red (2019) and just love it. I added the Guzzi rear rack / grab for my passenger's safety, yes their parts are crazy expensive alike most of manufacturers (except of Royal Enfield?).

    • @ReluctantBikerNYC
      @ReluctantBikerNYC  Před 3 lety

      Yes, I almost bought Guzzi's rear rack, but then I came across the one by Hepco & Becker, which seemed sturdier and a bit more practical. Plus it also helped that it was about 100 and so dollars cheaper, even though it doesn't quite look as elegant as the one manufactured by MG.

    That was a thoughtfully transparent review of your Guzzi.. I almost choked when you mentioned the price of shocks.. more importantly though, you're adjusting well from the TU. Even though I thoroughly enjoy my 650 Interceptor, it's the little TU that garners all the attention. It's a bit of a camera hog. 😄

    7.23 "Trying to find the neutral is a bit of a hassle." Like every bike I've ever ridden. Maybe I've just been unlucky, or maybe my riding technique is bad, but does anybody know a motorcycle with a non-clunky gearbox and easy to find neutral?? Even modern slipper clutches fail to impress. Just a youngster with only 50 years experience talking here :)

      Hi Chris. You make a valid point, and I definitely do not have nearly as much experience as you, so I will defer to you on the matter of finding the neutral on motorcycles. All I had to compare it with was my previous Suzuki TU250X. Thank you for your comment. We need more input from riders with real experience. Be well.

      Don't find the speedo position a problem tbh. My bonneville one is the same, but IS ugly!
      The seat is comfortable for me, but I agree on the terrible spine crunching rear shock absorbers (which simply do not absorb shocks)
      Overall though,lovely bike to ride, although would be hugely improved with good suspension and decent tyres.
      Thanks for the review.

    The problem with the Pirelli tires is that they're bias ply. I've got radials (Continental Road Attck) and they're excellent. As for the grab bars? I thought they'd be standard as they were on previous editions at least on the V7 Stone I.
    And I do agree... Wtf was MG thinking when they allowed into production that strange instrument cluster?

    • @ReluctantBikerNYC

      I cannot stop laughing: "Wtf was MG thinking when they allowed into production that strange instrument cluster?" Amen! You know, I put a lot of miles into this baby this season, and man, I have to say that it has handled itself very, very well, including the tires.

      @@ReluctantBikerNYC The Pirellis (bias ply) are fine on smooth surface, however, not much is smooth in NYC roads included 😉
      I've watched another vlog of yours where you raised another issue i.e. poor millage while riding in city traffic. I'm experiencing the same, and for the life of me do not understand why this is the case. I even re-mapped the ECU with Beetle's software but nothing changed (except smoother running upon starting in the winter.) I have Mistrals mufflers without baffles and the software could be downloaded for both: baffles or accordingly, no baffles but you have to mention this to him. He's in Australia btw and can be found on the Wildguzzi board. If your bike runs fine my advice is to leave it alone because he charges $100. I did it because I was frustrated with the poor gas milage but as I have mentioned, it didn't help.
      Happy Holidays, stay safe.

      Yo Joe! I'm curious about the bias ply vs radials. I have a 2018 Milano in storage for the winter. I had them replace the original Demons, which I hated on our New England roads. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference on new RAIIIs. What is the reason for bias ply issues? WTH are they even using these tires?!

  • @jean-francoisauger9912

    Your seat is moving anormally; would it be caused by the tool bag underneat? One downside is the lack of storage, at least for minimal tool kit (and yes, two cog wrenches!) Also like to carry tubeless tire repair kit, pump and Co2 inflator... so there for the rack and luggage! Don't mind too much for the tachometer.. it's easily driven by sound and feel. I set the gear shift light at top torque rpm. And I'm really getting used to the awkward position of speedo. There's an app for all necessary info, but think it's expensive for nothing. They positively should've replace the avg speed for a proper fuel gauge, but well, when comes the fuel light, you're good for 30 to 60 more miles! There, ride safe and take care!

    • @ReluctantBikerNYC
      @ReluctantBikerNYC  Před 3 lety

      Jean-Francois, thanks for stopping by and for your comments. You might have a point about the seat moving due to the tool bag. Tire repair kit? Well, we definitely think alike :) ! I have that on my list of tools to carry with me but haven't purchased one yet. Also, I am planning a 1500 mile trip, so I might need it. Oh, I really do not care about the tacho for its functionality, for by now I have learned to respond to the sound of the bike; I just think it would complement the bike's classic look. Thanks again. Be well and ride safely.
