Not only for winning, but for fighting and for the great person he was. He donates a lot of Money to autruistic projects, he was cheated by the other teams, he was cheated by his teammate, he was cheated by his own team, he was cheated by the Director balostre, Piquet, a brazillian world's driver champion don't wanted ayrton as your second driver in senna' career begin because piquet tought ayrton shoul be better than he and being a problem or a scenestealer... ayrton raced against all and everything.

@@cvakfree Balestre was the ultimate saboteur! Watch the full "Senna" documentary, the driver's meetings with Balestre are so dispicable that the FIA owes Senna at least 1 more legitimate WC.
Oh yeah? You want to contest my point?
Then how does the FIA justify making the pole sitter start the race from an outside & slower line in a race that would determine the World Champion in F1?
Prost was fortunate to have such consistent collusion after constantly hopping to the faster team at her (err, his) first opportunity.
It's easy to qualify pole and defend with the best car on the grid. That was Alana Prost's M.O. Don't even embarrass yourself, Ill educate you that Alana needed superior teams to contend for WCs.
      Here is the difference.
Prost needed a superior machine and big-budget top teams to contend for both DC and CC.
Senna was always late to the premier team, mostly because he was younger, and more loyal to the teams that gave him legitimate Driver/Constructor Championship opportunities.
He stayed on too long with Lotus and McLaren. But he gave those teams everything he had when they started falling off.

I remember Imola 1995, we stayed till Monday, since it was a holiday. I had my autograph with me, that Ayrton gave me in 1993. A young boy, 1 year younger than me, and his father spent all the money on a flight from Manaus to Rio by bus to Milan via London and Paris to see the GP and the place where Senna crashed. We talked and just because of that commitment, I gave him my autograph. I liked Senna but this little boy admired him.
Even though this was a sad day and place, I will never forget his smile and tears and this was and will always be a special day for me.
We stayed in contact until I received a letter from his father in June 2000 with the autograph, saying that Ernesto, the young boy, died at the age of 11 on April 21st, 2000 peacefully in his sleep.
Years later, in a Senna documentary, I found out that this very day, April 21st, was the day Senna won his 1st F1 GP, also winning the Grand Slam (pole, leading all laps, fastest lap and race win).
    RIP Ernesto and Ayrton.

I really don't understand people who make these kind of comments, there's no points for qualifying. Prost was well known for focusing more on his race set-up than qualifying, so what does being 1.5 seconds in front mean, really? --- prime example Mexico 1990 where he ditched qualifying tyres altogether and instead set-up his car... he started 13th and won the race, overtaking Senna in the process (who wasn't able to manage his tyres like Prost and instead of pitting ended up with a blow out--- after Prost had overtaken him).
I don't know about you but I rather be 1 minute 18 seconds faster in the race (to win, as apposed to being 6th) -- in the same car without any issues as was the case in Portugal later that year. Than to be 1.5 seconds back in pole, in a race that Prost ends up winning anyway. The fact this is given as Senna's best moment says everything.... Senna was great at qualifying, when the track was empty and he could run at his own pace on his own lines.... When it came to the race though, more often than not, he'd go backwards. Wheel to wheel racing - he did actually crash quite a lot. It was even noted at the time that he had no patience with back markers after no less than five accidents while trying to get past.
King of qualifying, may be. King of the sport - not even close. If he hadn't have died, he'd be vilified these days as apposed to glorified.

@@bibaswanmukherjee7237 How else would his premediated crash on Prost in Suzuka 1990 be viewed? In our reality its all hush-hush but I can't see this being looked back on favourably if he was still alive. He admitted to taking him out, and the data shows he didn't even lift off the throttle, not even slightly. That's at a corner where a few people have died in similar incidents, not to mention the marshals and track side staff that could have been injured. May be not his career in general but he did have some really questionable moments that no one is 'allowed' to talk about, as it seems a bit disrespectful.

I always find it so strange that Ayrton cared so much for Comas that he would stop his car and sprint to him on a busy almost full green circuit, yet the same man would deliberately start, and drive into Prost, making no attempt to stop or turn. He was an extremely complicated man, who would do whatever was required to win, and on the other hand would do anything to help a driver in danger. Senna, you knew you were loved by many, but not how much. I remember you every day and I fall in love even more with the man and sportsman that was. I try to keep alive the memory of his history, character and affection, an incomparable, unsurpassed genius who, besides being a patriot, was an example of a kind man but also determined, just and with courage. You was soetacular in all races , the king of pedals and clues. You will live forever in our hearts, a legend, our idol. I'd give anything to stop that race, not yet accepted, but I think your departure was for you to become something much bigger today, a deity, a myth.

His qualifying lap in Phoenix in ‘91 was pretty special as well! His former teammate, now driving in the better handling Ferrari, had a better qualifying time late into the second session. In typical Senna fashion, he went out for his last stint with minute left, and when he drove by the Ferrari pits stuck out his forefinger at Prost. He then knocked 1.5s off his next best time, which put him over 1 second ahead of Prost. Even though Schumacher ended up with more poles, I still feel that Senna was the master of this arena, for his ability to perform when it was most needed!

And there's the fact that Senna had the indisputable best car for only 2 seasons, during which his team mate was the great Alain Prost, with the final pole positions score of 26 vs 4 in favor of Senna.
