FYI - mounting positions: you're best off installing any dash cam on an area of the windshield that the wipers will be able to clean! I live in snowy conditions and the upper right corner of the windshield would be completely obstructed during winter weather.
Got the viofo, harwire kit, polar lens, endurance mSD card, and 2 year warrenty all for under $200! Just used your video to help me install it all and got it to work 1st try! Thanks man!
That's awesome, so glad I could help!
So 2 years have passed, do you still use the dashcam, if so can you give some good and bad impressions you have about it?
@@imeprezime1069 still waiting ✋🏼
@@user-ov2fc5sd1e yeah same 😂
Thank you for this! Sorry you were in a car accident, glad to see you’re okay! Recently got rear ended and am in need of a dash cam, will be buying this one!
x MsContagious Yeah sometimes the lesson has to be learned the hard way, but glad you are ok yourself and taking action on it!
DO NOT mount the camera in the upper right if you have a curtain airbag like it appears this car has. In an accident, that dash cam could become a projectile. It also may be destroyed by the deploying airbag and you won't record the incident in full.
Yes, the webcam cable should be routed IN FRONT the A pillar right where it meets the windshield, not BEHIND it. Look at BMW E9x crash videos and you will see when the airbag deploys, your cable behind the A pillar will interfere with it and cause serious issues! Please correct your video!
Very useful video...Especially the fuse box access. A++
Very helpful! Thanks.
Super cool that we have the same cars, I also mounted my camera in the same spot before I even saw the video!
Love it!!
Great video mate, good luck with your channel
Appreciate it, thank you!
The real asshole in the last clip is the guy who stopped to let the guy out from the side street. Don't ever do that shit if there is more than one lane going in the same direction. No need to be the nice guy in that situation. The guy on the side street can wait till both lanes are clear.
Honestly true
Thanks for the vid. Hope you tested the slot for the load side location, otherwise no point for the add-a-circuit...
Really well-done video. My son just got one of these for me and I have to figure out how to wire it into my 1990 E34 525i BMW. I don't think I have an internal fuse box (the main box is under the hood), but I'm going to poke around a find out.
Perfect, so glad it was helpful. Hope you have success with the E34 wiring!
@@TechItEasy0 I've been doing driving tests with the camera and have been extremely unimpressed by the video quality. I tried to read license plates of cars in front of me and also cars as they are coming towards me. The "high res" settings look like they are just up-resn'g from lower resolution and therefore cannot resolve license plates in most cases. I'm not sure I want to spend the time and money to permanently install this device.
i jumped when that car drove out in front of you lol
i did too trust me
Nice vid. You do not have to use tweezers to pull the fuse. BMW's include a fuse puller, its the long red plastic in the middle of your fuse block.
when i found a fuse puller in my old chevy's fusebox i just about shit. really cool thing to include with the car
any cables should be routed behind the side airbags as when they deploy, the force can snap the cables which can whip out and cut you
Thanks for the nice hands on video. Do you ever need to get the micro SD card out? If so, was it accessible? Thanks 😄
8 hours later and….voila! Easy peasy.
This is really helpful. I have the a119 v3, but now I want a rear cam too, what should I do that's easiest to set up and not crazy expensive?
Perhaps consider a separate and cheaper camera? For the rear, you'd really just need to prove that someone was following too closely or something like that
I have bought a hardware kit to make the camera work while the car is off and make it a recording while in motion only, but I want to make it work like a normal dash cam while the vehicle is moving. How do I switch between the two modes?
Great video! I'll be checking out some of your other stuff. Do you still have this dashcam? Still like it?
Still have it, still great
San Diego drivers... I recognize those locations you were at too
That's funny, yeah SD drivers are pretty bad
Thanks for the video... Are the fuse taps included with the hardwiring kit?? Regards...
Yes, between the hardwire kit and the dashcam itself, everything I used in the video was included
lmaoo bro you smeared tf out your windshield lmao
Did you get a plastic sheet to be used somehow to make camera easier to remove.
What micro sd card are you using? Do you just place it in side the dash cam and it will start recording?
I use the Samsung PRO Endurance, they're supposed to do much better with heat and constant, constant Reads/Writes. Once you slot it in the side there and give it power, it starts recording!
Nice vid man. Seems like a lot of work though.May have to get this professionally done for me.
To each their own! Either way, appreciate the feedback, and overall definitely worth having a dashcam no matter how it's installed
It took less than 5 minutes...
Do you disconnect the negative from the battery before removing any fuses?
no
Can we download the videos in the sd card if we connect to the phone with viofo a 119v3 by otg cable
Not from my experience, but taking the SD card out is very easy to do
So the Honda CR-V wasn’t able to maintain the lane and you decided that would be the perfect time to do a fly by and lay on the horn rather than hang back and play it safe?? 🙄
Installation... skip to 5:20
This is a great help. Quick question. Is there an easy way to save a clip while driving? Say something happens while driving. Is there a button you can push to save the clip? Thanks for the vid.
Yes, on the Viofo A119 there is a button to "lock" a portion of video from being erased in the loop. And bumps or accidents will activate the feature automatically. Unfortunately, this install is on the passenger side of the mirror preventing the driver from using the video lock button.
Does it still record using this hardwire kit with the car completely off and the key out of the ignition?
Yes, with parking mode turned on and hardwire kit properly installed, the dashcam will still record with engine off.
If I don't hard wire my dash cam and use the ac adapter port will it still record when the car is parked and off
No, and in my case it won't do that even being hard-wired to the fuse box... you need to have it wired to something (a fuse) that keeps power at all times
@@tandbappliance The hardwire kit for the dashcam has an automatic shutoff when the voltage of the battery drops so it will not completely drain the battery. The automatic shutoff is the black box that can be seen connected to the wires at 6:54. I didn't see where the box was mentioned in the video.
Are you using a hardwire kit? I didn't see what cord you used.
just got mine today, and it came with a "static sticker" which states "paste this on the windshield before sticking the 3M sticker"
those who also for the CPL lens, I'd advise watching a video on adjusting the lens before clipping it on, they don't all come aligned properly, mine wasn't aligned quite right so lucky I checked first.
Thanks for the tip
Not the latest HK3 wire and no voltage control to protect vehicle battery voltage level for parking operate.
Boring I didn’t integrate it on a fuse that will be on when the car is off. For parking mode, the Viofo-made kit will be best and that includes what you mentioned
is the hardwire kit necessary to run the parking mode ?
I didn't bother with parking mode
Yes it is I believe
Great video. Where did you get the fuse tap and the hardwire kit
I got them both on Amazon, links are in the description of this video if you want to check it out!
Shaydon Bodemar thak you they work great just installed them
Check cheap CHINA fuses as some don’t blow and damage circuit.
Good tip I hadn't thought about that
Is it me or does the glass of the windshield actually look dirty after he wiped it? I see lots of streaks that weren't there before…
Dose it record before the accident?
Yes lol I just edited those clips in so it was nice and concise
What about yellow cable, its 3 of them, red black and yellow
Black = ground, red = battery, yellow = ACC
@@meatycraftfan23 That's obvious, but why does the video not mention the yellow wire which is included in the kit? If someone does not want to keep recording in the parking mode, does that mean that they can just not use this wire and leave it disconnected? That information if that is the case would be helpful... I just received the kit and don't know what to do with the yellow wire.
First of all, thanks for the video. It is very helpful. After saying that, and looking at the examples you give at the beginning of your video, I have to tell you that the driver in the examples is very stupid. Look at the second example. He recognizes the other vehicle about to cut into his lane. He hunks and accelerates. That is very very stupid. Of course, the other driver is to blame, but what does it matters when both parties are hurt? On the road, be smart, not right. It is stupid to be right and dead. Much better to "lose" and live.
1:50 Old dude almost causing a wreck without caring? Huh.
Pretty much! He didn't seem to process or something....
Too many times on a two lane road like this some asshole in the right lane will stop to let a driver through from a side street, which causes this dangerous situation. Those drivers are the real idiots. The driver on the side street can wait till all traffic is clear, no need to be the "nice" guy.
Fuses are bi-directional ie it doesn't matter which way you put it in
Good to know for the future, thank you
@@TechItEasy0 now i did hear the fuse boxes are directional but fuses themselves unless you have ocd dont matter which way they plug in its basically putting a wire from one point to another
Can you use a different fuse
Should be able to so long as the amps are the same
how much voltage + amp, does the dashcam use?
I can't find anything in the manual or box, but the car charger it comes with that you are supposed to plug the camera into outputs 5v and 3.1a
Kit came with a plastic sheet to stick unto window and a car plug adaptor with two ports.
Why no rear dashcam? Because it's less likely you'd be at fault in case of accident?
Yeah exactly
Instead of glass cleaner I'd use alcohol to clean the surface.
Good to know! Anything to reduce streaks...
I’m having an issue. Someone is stealing flowers from my yard. They’re getting braver and braver and coming closer and closer to my house. I have this dash cam and I am wondering if it recorded while the car is off. If it does record while my cat is off. How do I program it
This dashcam will not but there are some that do. Consider investing in a security camera as well
You'd need to hardware a parking-motion detector feature on yours
coming into yor lane ??!! bro u should drive in iran/tehran to be happy for what you have there :D
Hahah admittedly I was nit-picky but I was just pulling footage from by first week with it
If it comes with its own fuse why not just attach it to the battery terminals? Or do you want it powered off when you switch off the ignition? I do not see the point of messing with the fuses as you are increasing the load for no reason. Thanks for the video by the way, very informative!
Glad you found it informative. I like the fuses simply to avoid cluttering the battery terminals, I wouldn't say either approach is "right" or "wrong"
my kit didnt come with the fuse thing :(
I believe you have to order the hardwire stuff separately because it didn’t come with mine either
8:17 "always put the number upward" then proceeds to install downward lol. It doesn't make a difference anyway.
LOL. He mentions fuse orientation a couple times. Completely irrelevant!
what is hardwire mean?
It means you have it wired in the fuse box so you don't need to occupy a cigarette lighter for power
you must live in calfornia
1:49 dafuck
For real! Crazy maneuver
Bro, music too loud.
Noted!
why do you need an intro that is literally 400x louder than your speaking voice? make it make sense
