    You said it’s expensive for a manual grinder. Well, actually, I thought it’s insanely cheap for metal burr grinder

    • @ChadtheFilipino
      @ChadtheFilipino  Před 3 lety +2

      For sure it is! the metal vs ceramic is definitely a huge plus. I'm just saying relative to what people would normally spend on basic manual grinders! haha

    Updates from the fuuuuture - It got better. Timemore replaced the plastic\brass grind size adjuster with aluminum in early 2022. There's a Max version of the C2 which can grind 30g instead of 20g and it's basically the same price as the regular. All other internals are exactly the same as the regular C2.

    • @ChadtheFilipino
      @ChadtheFilipino  Před 2 lety

      THank you! It's been pretty good still. It works fine, just the paint at the bottom of the grinder where the grinded beans sit has come off, but other than that there's been no issues with grind consistency or stalling on the interior of the device!

      I own the C2 for at least two years. Everything still works and I get very decent coffee with it. I've just recently given it a slight upgrade. The brass and plastic adjustment set was replaced by aluminum ones, also made by timemore company. All their new c2 models also come with this, fyi.

    This actually cost $55 here in the philippines, which is at par with the porlex mini that you mentioned. There is a max version that cost $57 too. Nice video though..

    How is the matte white paint? Have you experienced any chipping off?

    • @ChadtheFilipino
      @ChadtheFilipino  Před 3 lety

      Hi! Yes actually. I usually tap/bang the grinder on the table to get all the coffee grinds down into the bottom container so the paint at that part has come off a little bit. But not so much on the main body itself.

    you got any recommendation for manual grinder for espresso... is timemore really that bad for espresso?

    • @ChadtheFilipino
      @ChadtheFilipino  Před 3 lety +2

      No unfortunately not. I feel if you drink espresso its better to get something electric for the price you'll pay for a quality manual grinder.
      The fines coming out of this were too inconsistent and i wasn't getting good even grinds at the finest levels

    • @demoneyeslaharl
      @demoneyeslaharl Před 2 lety

      1zpresso JX Pro is probably something you'll need for espresso. It's four times the cost of the C2

      @@ChadtheFilipino I was wondering if you could help me. I'm completely new to this. I bought this grinder, 4 different bags of freshly roasted coffee beans, and an Oxo 8 cup coffee machine, but I have no clue what setting to start with. How many clicks would you use with a drip machine? I've tried researching this, but I can only find how many clicks for a french press, pour over, aeropress, etc

    how does the grind quality compare to the virtuoso?

    • @ChadtheFilipino
      @ChadtheFilipino  Před 3 lety +2

      Aside from the Virtuoso having better range for coarseness and fineness, I'd say that they're pretty close. The virtuoso has a 40mm burr while the timemore has a 38mm. So the virtuoso can go finer, and because of its electric nature + experience grinds more consistent with less fines.
      Hope this helps!

      Not even remotely close. The Timemore kinda sucks. There's a full review on my channel.

      @@bluemystic7501 I actually watched your review and the conclusion was that the cups made from C2 ground coffee are good, just not great. this is pretty far from "kinda sucks".

    • @bluemystic7501
      @bluemystic7501 Před 2 lety

      @@borisvian8117 It's all relative. Compared to the virtuoso the C2 kinda sucks. Compare the C2 to a Krupps spin blade grinder and the C2 is in another league.

    Could this grinder grind for Moka pot?

    • @ChadtheFilipino
      @ChadtheFilipino  Před 2 lety +1

      I think so! I've mentioned that the grind doesn't get too fine, but I Think it should be "fine enough" for a more rustic method like moka pot.

    Porlex mini is cute but don’t lose your time with it : it’s ceramic burr, if you really want to start - scale in your coffee journee, it’s gonna show his limits in few months
    I’m not even mentioning Hario… it’s not a grinder it’s a fitness accessories to workout your arms
    When you get your 15 grams of coffee medium size, grinded in less than 20 secondes with timemore, you will understand
