Such a heartwarming video. Love the interaction you have. People don’t really talk to each other like that in America nowadays. 🥰
people need to be more neighborly is the US. I would say media isnt so divisive here so people are ok with each other and can tolerate when someone disagrees.
I agree, I love the video and it is heartwarming to see Khmer people interacting with whom they perceive to be a foreigner. We, Khmer people, as a whole, have a good reputation for friendliness and hospitality. That being said, it’s not that Americans ‘don’t talk to each other like that nowadays’ it’s just that America is a very diverse country. This video highlights the Khmer people being shocked by a ‘white man’ being able to speak fluent Khmer. If he was any other Khmer man, they wouldn’t have the conversation that was had in this video. It’s all about context. This video is heartwarming because us Khmer people love to see when someone we never expected to be able to speak/know the culture & language show interest in it because we have so much pride for our culture and we’re happy to see other people appreciate it,too.
In conclusion, America is very diverse, therefore many languages and people of different ethnicity’s live here. Many are friendly and do converse with strangers. This video is wholesome, however the comparison lacks context and should be taken into account.
