In this video we explore why the Rekluse Core Manual clutch on our KTM 500 Big Bike is dragging so badly. We find that it's more worn in than we anticipated given the few hours on it and we end up going back to bone stock on the clutch stack with great effect.
We all like to like aftermarket clutches. We want them to be better. We've even interviewed the Rekluse founder (he's a super cool dude). Rekluse in particular is a great brant, but they're expensive, and they should work better than this one.
Stock clutches aren't bad. In fact, on most modern bikes, the stock clutch is actually an abuse absorber - it can take a beating and deliver. There are few reasons to move off of one. General "performance enhancements" aren't going to cut it. You've got to have a strong and specific reason to spend a grand on a clutch stack.

I'm going back to stock for my 450 excf 2017, to much drag after few ride. Beginning was fantastic, but clutch plate worn much quickly.

Did you warm the bike up to operating temp?

Don't you also have a 300 2T? Make a Supermoto outta the 500 and keep the 300 to go shredding.

We do. That was actually a plan we were thinking about but first we’re going to make a hill climb bike out of the 500. Gonna extend the swing arm and put on a paddle tire.

I figured out why KTM clutches do that. if you wanna know the secret, let me know. I'm not selling anything. it was the most ridiculous thing.
