I played in a fast melodic punk band in Minneapolis in the late 90's / early 00's and we would get together and watch this concert on VHS before our rehearsals and shows to get pumped up. We all grew up with Big Country and even though our music was a totally different style we really identified with them. Much respect. Heroes.

30 years ago today (August 27, 1986), I was 14 and this show was my first concert ever. I am in the front row with my brother and 2 pals. An amazing concert from one of the best bands ever. Awesome to be able to experience the concert once again 30 years later!

If this was 27 August 1986, it was only a few days after Big Country played Knebworth Park, supporting Queen's last ever live gig with Freddie Mercury. On that day I was there to witness BC play to a crowd of 140,000 people and they were tremendous. That day was when my love affair with BC began and it has never faded since.

As I remember it, there were a couple more encores eventually Stuart said they'd run out of things to play.but they hadn't, they played a Stones number (can't remember which but a popular rocker), a couple more bar band favorites; left the stage, returned to do a Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' Tears of a Clown (which when he announced the song, I thought Oh hell no, why spoil a good thing...that was until Stuart began to croon...OMG!! Absolute magic that night from start to the many finishes!
